Was acting on your mind since childhood?
No. There was a contest held in 2004 by Zee Tv India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj. I won that contest from Ahmedabad and like the other participants came to Mumbai. Then there was an elimination and I got eliminated. However, by then I was passionate about acting, so I struggled and then got my first show.
What is the uniqueness about your character?
I am currently playing the negative main lead. This was a positive role turned into negative. Rohan is a sophisticated businessman and quite diplomatic. He is not a bad guy. Amit Is very much punctual and Amit’s and Rohan’s ethics clash.
How is it working with the team of Amit ka Amit?
Fantastic! They are very good personally and professionally. The production team is wonderful.
With whom do you bond the best off-screen?
Amit (Nishad Vaidya) Amita (Chandni Bhagwanani) and my mom.
Your dream role?
My dream role is one which was shown in the film Guzarish.
How do you balance between your professional and personal life?
I am from Ahmedabad and don’t have much friends here. I am not even into alcohol or party. I don’t have to manage between friends and family. After work; it’s family for me.
What are your hobbies?
I love dancing, singing and acting. I love to wish everyone I know on their birthday. I remember almost 917 birthdays.
Any phobias you have?
After I saw Titanic I don’t prefer waterways. I feel scared.
Your favourite hangout places in Mumbai?
Nariman Point. There’s nothing better than that.
Do you believe in destiny?
Initially, I didn’t but now I strongly believe in destiny. I was finalized for Amita Ka Amit as Amit but could not get the role due to some reasons but got the role for Rohan. I had done shows before also but they got scraped… so all these things made me realize its all meant for you only if is destined. You can’t get more than what’s written for you in your destiny.
Your inspiration?
In my personal life my parents are my inspiration and professionally Amitabhji is my inspiration. Even at the age of 70 he woks so hard. He’s so passionate about his life. The challenging roles he’s played till now is impeccable.
You are crazy about?
My mom’s food. I can’t resist myself. I also like dancing… the moment I hear the songs from the folk dance garba, I can’t control myself. I get emotional and start dancing.
Love according to you is?
L- life that begins, O- ocean of tears, V- value of death and E- end of life.
