When I was in a relationship, I was happy but I am happier being single now: Karan Wahi
Karan Wahi seems to simply love the ‘reality show experience’!! After his stint in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 (Colors) as participant, he is all set to don the anchor’s hat in Star Plus’ much-talked about dance reality show, Nach Baliye 5.
In a chat with us, Karan talks about his new assignment wherein he shares the anchor’s stage with Gautam Rode.
Says Karan, “As a reality show participant, you need to give much more time, wherein you need time to rehearse and remember. Plus the tension to perform well on stage is huge. Our role as anchors is equally important but not so stressful. I can very well say, we are the drivers of the show, the world sees the goings on from our eyes.”
Talking about the anchor’s role and responsibility, Karan states, “You need to be funny, at the same time be responsible and hold your stance. At times, the situations can be difficult to handle, but I will try to address this issue by trying to be more of myself than an anchor. I have a particular way of talking and I will stick to it. And the best thing is that most of the contestants are my industry friends, so it does make things easier.”
Fans of the actor who loved seeing him shake his leg in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa will not be disappointed as he is bound to burn the dance floor yet again in the opening episode of the show. Talking about it, Karan avers, “The premiere of Nach Baliye 5 will be a three hour extravaganza and will kick-start with a performance from me and Gautam. You should not miss this particular act as this is something that has never been performed by guys on stage in Indian television.”
He further goes on to explain the change in the format of Nach Baliye this time of having two male anchors as opposed to one guy and one girl which was the norm till date. “The thought process was to have a more chilled out atmosphere by having two guys as anchors. We already have 11 romantic Jodis and judges who are a mix of both the sexes. Hence a guy-to-guy banter when it comes to anchoring is a refreshing change.”
Lastly, we ask Karan to give his thought on relationships, and he ends by stating, “Although I am single now, it is a great feeling to be in a relationship. Several of my friends are in committed zones. However, I don’t believe in jumping into flings just for the heck of it. When I was in a relationship, I was happy, but I am happier being single now.”
Karan, we wish you all the very best for your new stint…
