We celebrate both Punjabi as well as Maharashtrian festivals happily – Gautami Kapoor
As Gudi Padwa is around the corner, we all must be excited to welcome the New Year with full zeal and zest. It is celebrated on the first day of Chaitra month to mark the beginning of the New Year according to the Hindu Calender.
As we are excited for the festival, television celebs are also in hush and rush to celebrate it. The seasoned actress Gautami Kapoor, who is seen in Star Plus’ show Tere Sheher Mein, talking about the excitement, memories and more about the festival.
Sharing her excitement about the festival, she says, “On this occasion my mother makes yummy sweets and we do put up the Gudi. It’s a very exciting festival and I get to eat a lot of sweets because my mom makes that at home.”
Reminiscing some cute memories related to the festival she says, “The beautiful memory which I have is related to my grand mother who is no more. She use to make fantastic Puranpolis which was loved by me. We used to put up a Gudi which has always been a cute experience.”
As you are married to a Punjabi, so tell us something about the atmosphere at home during such festivals, “I am a Maharashtrian and will always be. Though I am married to a Punjabi but that doesn’t change the fact. We celebrate both Punjabi as well as Maharashtrian festivals happily.”
