Producer Sumeet Mittal talks about the successful 3 years journey of his popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum in this conversation with us.

Shashi Sumeet Mittal’s popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum which airs on Star Plus, has successfully completed its journey of 3 years along with maintaining top position on the TRP chart.

The storyline of the show has witnessed a lot of twists and turns in these 3 years which has kept the viewers hooked to the show and with the re-entry of Rajkumar (Gaurav Sharma) in the show, the show now gears up for another twist in the tale. We spoke to producer Sumeet Mittal to know more about the 3 years successful journey of the show and about the track forthcoming track.

How has the journey been so far?

The journey has been satisfying and humbling. We, at Shashi Sumeet Productions, work very closely to ensure that what we deliver quality content to our audiences, every single day. When the entire team works with focus it makes the journey wonderful. It overcome all the hurdles and all the moments are extremely enjoyable.

3 years have passed and Diya Aur Baati Hum is still ruling the charts. What’s the success mantra?

In my view the success of Diya Aur Baati Hum lies in the simplicity of its story and the relatability of the characters. It is a unique story of a sweet seller supporting his wife’s dream of becoming an IPS officer and this is what has drawn the audience to it.

The show has inspired a lot of people across the globe. How do you feel about it?

It reinforces my belief that stories that are told from the heart always strike a chord with the audiences. I am glad that this story is inspiring men across the world to come out and support their wives and help them achieve their dreams. I am delighted that this show is breaking the age-old myth that if a son stands by his parents he is a dutiful son but if the same man stands by his wife he is hen-pecked.

How is the entry of Rajkumar going to shape up the tracks further?

With RK’s comeback in the show, there will be loads of action, interesting drama, and lot of emotions can be seen in the tracks ahead. Earlier, viewers saw a transformation in the character from good to bad. However, this time around, there will be nothing like this seen. RK will be at his venomous best which will be a huge surprise for Suraj (Anas Rashid) and Sandhya (Deepika Singh).

Is the shoot for the Dubai food festival going to happen in Dubai just like cooking competition held in Singapore?

We are working out the details and will be making an announcement soon.

What are the plans for the celebrations?

Each day for us is a celebration to be honest because we love what we do. We all, as a team, feel the same enthusiasm, joy and excitement as we felt on the first day. For the 3rd anniversary, we would be cutting a customary cake and celebrating with a cozy meal with the whole team.
