[V] The Buddy Project 12th March 2013 Written Update
Chemistry exam going on! Piddi is half sneaking, half writing; Samar also can’t help but look around. KD asks for an extra sheet and predictably, Piddi STTC that here he can’t fill one copy and KD is asking for extra?! Each copy has 5 papers, KD has filled all and here he is on the verge of making paper planes out of his sheet. Panchi asks for extra copy as well and Piddi, who is sitting behind her, offers her his copy as her extra sheet (). One exam succeeds the next and Allah Allah karke Piddi finishes his exam! Time up! Exam over! Everyone leaves while cheering!
Buddies are in the corridor overlooking the grounds. RV shows KD the question paper and asks if he got his question right. Piddi eyes them and snatches the paper saying even if RV got his question wrong, he can’t correct it. Exams are OVER! And he throws the papers down from there. The students do the same, enjoying their freedom.
KD is at his CC, taking out a box from the cupboard. RV follows him and asks that the exams are over, what is he still doing here? KD says he just came to take the money as he has to pay the money back the next day. RV tells him to hurry up as everyone’s waiting for him at school. Just then, KD gets a call and he gets worried seeing the number. RV tells him to go and attend the call, he’ll count the money. KD obliges and RV counts the money. He becomes worried and STTC that these are only 30K, KD needs 50k. How will he manage the other 20k by tomorrow? KD comes back and RV praises him as the King of Tuition and for raising 50k on his own. KD is surprised how come he got so much money? RV tells him that he did so much hard work, he should’ve confidence in himself. It’s not like KD ever counted the money, right? KD doesn’t say anything but is left confused.
At school, Piddi says to Samar about RanSh that they’ve become typical Dostana. Students are writing autographs on each others shirts. RV writes “Ye Dosti Hum Nahin Todenge” on KD’s back. Samar invites everyone to TBC for party. There, Samar plays music and everyone dances merrily but the music abruptly stops. Piddi scolds Samar for having so much bad stuff in his cell that he doesn’t have space for music. Kiya asks if anyone has this song (Disco Deewane from Student of the Year)? KD says he does and Kiya promptly replies, “Really? I love you for that!” Cue, awkward moment erased by Piddi who asks KD to put on the song. KD puts on the Ishq Wala Love part of the song and goes to Kiya and they dance together. Everyone else is also dancing in a group and enjoying.
The song ends and everyone demands for the next song! Piddi requests KD to put on Radha (from SOTY as well!). Ruby says she’ll do it and plays the song on KD’s phone. Dance starts again and this time, everyone is with their respective partners (I’m all eyes for RaHi! Why didn’t the CVs make them dance more?! PaL have got the moves man! Oh well, maybe in season 2 they might!) TC (cuz Ruby is too much of a good name for her ) notices the kiss video from NYP in KD’s phone and smirks. She transfers the video on her cell. JJ comes there and turns off the music and asks in a stern manner what’s going on? Students become worried. JJ says he used to dance better than them while giving an exam! Buddies are shocked and JJ laughs and says he means it. Schools are over, they should dance with more energy and resumes the music. Students bring forward JJ to make him dance. The 9 Buddies dance happily.
Party is over, the students leave after saying bye to JJ and the Buddies. When only Buddies are left behind, JJ says it’s time for him to say goodbye as well. Buddies wave at him and Piddi says even his time to leave is here as well. JJ tells them that school is almost over, it’s time for him to go back to USA. The Buddies are beyond shocked. JJ tells them that his job was to give them a right direction and he’s proud of them. Now they’ll all branch out and chase their careers, it’s the right time for him to leave. Panchi tearfully asks him will he really go and he affirms. Juhi pleads with him that he must not become a Corporate Saddu back in his office setup and JJ laughs a little at this. He assures her that he won’t do so. KD asks JJ won’t he join his old job then? JJ says he has got some plans, maybe he’s just waiting for life to throw something at him. KD asks won’t he even stay for the farewell? JJ says he’s throwing a farewell party tonight. RV is instantly excited and says they’ll rock it and hugs JJ. Piddi wipes his tear and says he won’t ever forget Junglee. JJ goes to him, kisses him affectionately on the forehead and says that’s what he’s proud of the most and leaves (Damn you! How did you NOT cry over this?! ) RV suggests to do something for JJ which would tell him how much he means to them.
The Buddies are at their respective houses, each thinking about JJ.
JJ has arranged a campfire party for them. Buddies arrive there and JJ welcomes them. He asks them do they remember how they used to be when they met? RV laughs that they were spoiled. KD says they fought all the time. Panchi pipes in saying she was nice. Juhi says she was dumb and Kiya says she used to be such a b__ but JJ stops her saying, “No abuses please!” and she smiles sheepishly. Piddi says cunningly that since JJ forbade them from abusing, he won’t say a word. JJ says they were what they said and what they didn’t say but more than that, they were something else. They were loners. Individuals but today they are a team and today, they are here to celebrate The Buddy Project.
JJ tells them today he is their Head Chef and they are his helpers. They have to come one by one and stir the pot. He has put everything else, all they have to do is put their love and best wishes in it. JJ serves the food in two big plates and they make two groups and eat together, while sharing. They feed each other and have fun (while I cry! CVs..damn you! You messed this thing up SO ROYALLY but eff you! The end is freakin’ beautiful! )
When they are fed, they all sit on the ground while JJ stands in front of them. He says now they are all fed, their appetite and hearts are fill. Samar says not yet, dessert still remains. He says he has bought something for him. RV says so has everyone else. JJ says he stopped them from doing these sentimental goodbyes. Panchi retorts but he didn’t stop them from bringing gifts. Samar has a box of sweets and he feeds one to JJ who says it’s a sweet gift. Samar says that’s not his real gift. He says that JJ taught them to be true and honest and live their life bravely with integrity. But he, Samar, has lived his whole life based on a lie. He confesses that he is no Royal, just a son of an ordinary sweet shop owner. Buddies are shocked.
