Uttaran 10th December 2012 Written Episode

Episode starts with Jogi telling Divya that he didn’t talk to Tapasya.
Divya is shocked and says, 19 years later you met our daughter and didn’t talk to her?
Divya gets angry at him. I know you will say she has these mistakes, these problems, but I’m her mother… we’re her parents… kids make mistakes, if parents don’t forgive them, who will? And you didn’t talk to her?
Jogi says, I want to hug her… I wanted to hug my daughter close to my heart… wanted to ask her where she was for so many years? I wanted to kiss her forehead… I wanted to bring her home to you… Wanted to show her, here is your mother… Jogi starts crying… so does Divya.
The way she said Papa after 19 years, I can’t tell you what I went through… listening to her say this word.
But today seeing her as that Tej Singh’s wife, what happened to my heart, only I know.
She didn’t ask in 19 years how her parents are? How we’re living? She came back after so many years, I saw her in this condition? As Tej Singh’s wife? I got angry, I got upset with her. How could our daughter do it? I won’t talk to her… I won’t talk to Tapasya.
Jogi leaves the room and Divya cries uncontrollably.

Tapasya picks up her parents’ photo in her room and remembers seeing Jogi in front of the court.
She says, I know Papa, that you’re angry with me… but I also know very well that you wanted to hug me, wanted to bring me home with you… I know that too… that your anger has love in it too. You love me a lot even today… Please forgive me Papa… I cannot tell anyone why am I here? Not just you, I can’t tell anyone… why I have married that Tej Singh in this house.
I also know that Icha has never fought for her rights till today, and she won’t fight even now… but I will return her rights to her for sure. That’s why I hid the truth from all of you and came here.
I have never given you any happiness till today, Papa… in fact, I have only hurt everyone always… that’s why I went away from here, far away from here. I wanted to come back to my family a lot of times, but I stopped myself every time…
Why should my daughter suffer for my sins?
Tapasya cries and says, the whole life I couldn’t do anything for my daughter. I know Papa that the decision I took, is not right… but I was helpless… I couldn’t see my daughter’s life being ruined, Papa. I will fulfil the promise I made with my daughter. I will get my friend’s rights back to her for sure.
When you find out about all of this, then you won’t say that there’s no relation between the two of us.. you won’t turn away from me.
Instead, you will hug me and say Tappu beta, I’m proud of you…

25th Anniversary Celebration of Damini Pathshala function… the lady on the mic says, 25 years ago, a lady put the foundation of this pathshala for the kids of this basti. She was herself very young at that time, maybe 18-19 years… she named the pathshala after her mother… Damini Pathshala.
Kanha/Mukta are on the stage with Icha.
We will welcome the lady who made this pathshala, I will call her on the stage… I will call Mrs. Icha Bharti.
Everyone claps and Icha gets up from the table… she’s presented with a shawl and a bouquet.
The lady asks Icha to say a few words about the journey of her life.
Before Icha can do so, Meethi from the back of the audience says “Excuse Me”. Icha/Kanha/Mukta are surprised to see her.
Meethi asks if she can say something at this function?
The lady asks Meethi to come up on the stage. We all want to know what you want to say about your mother’s life and her journey.
Mukta thinks, Meethi please don’t say anything today that may embarrass or hurt Icha Ma.
Kanha/Mukta come and stand next to Icha.
Meethi goes to the mic.
She says, love, motherhood, fondness, I was unaware of these words. I only knew hatred, anger and strangeness.
Hating my own mother, being angry with her, and a distance between both of us that couldn’t be covered.
Maa, is such a beautiful word, but this word never came on my lips before… I couldn’t understand the strength of this word.
The word that’s looked upon as the best and the strongest, I never took that word out of my mouth.
I always loved my anger, and was angered by her love.
Do you guys know that I always complained that this woman is every child’s mother, but she could never become my mother.
But today, in front of all of you, I want to say to my mom… Maa, I am proud that you’re my mother… and my good luck that I’m your daughter. I could never understand you…
Icha cries… Meethi folds her hands and says, please forgive me if you can… I’m sorry Maa.
Mukta is smiling and so is Kanha.

Amla comes to call Tapasya for food. She starts going away when Tapasya stops her and says I want to talk to you about something, come sit with me.
Tapasya looks at her and Amla says why are you staring at me?
Tapasya says, I’m looking at you that you’re so beautiful… but why do you put sindoor?
Amla says, what are you talking about? I got married… I’m a suhagan and we put Sindoor to show people we’re married.
Tapasya says, your parents are not alive right? That’s why no one told you about Sindoor and Mangal Sutra. These two are the symbols of your husband’s love. Everything belonging to your husband is half yours… his love, his happiness, sadness, the house…
Amla is about to say something… when Tapasya says, you never became a mother till now?? That’s proof of the uselessness of these symbols on you.
Amla is shocked and speechless.
Tapasya says, marriage is made up of 7 promises… which promise was fulfilled towards you?? Does Veer share all his worries, his happiness and sadness with you?
Amla shakes her head.
Tapasya says, he shares it with Mai. Yuvraj is your son and no one bothered to tell you when he got punished in the court… Veer became conscious at the hospital, did someone bother to tell you? You got yourself ready waiting for someone to call you, but they didn’t. Mai was there at the hospital, but no one called you.
Have you every thought, a helpless orphan like you… why was she given the rank of being the bahu of this house, Veer’s wife?
Amla says, why?
Tapasya says, you think you’re a wife, but for Mai it’s a ‘deal’. They’ve stuck you in this relationship for their own selfish reasons.
