Unlike other shows, acting in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain is very realistic: Rakshanda Khan
Rakshanda Khan is enjoying her role in Sony Entertainment Television’s hit show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (Balaji Telefilms).
“I play Isha, the college crush of Ram Kapoor. Since he was a rolly polly boy even back then, everybody would make fun him. I was the girl who, any guy would want to be friends with but would spend my entire time in college with him (Ram) as I felt nobody was being nice to him,” she avers.
“As you know there is a past story when Ram and Isha were good friends. She and her husband had gone overseas but they are back now. He again seeks her help as he wants to make Priya (Sakshi Tanwar) happy by adopting a healthier lifestyle,” Rakshanda informs.
Rakshanda does not know how the story will pan out in the coming days as Ekta (Ekta Kapoor) is in Boston “and once she is back, she will finalise this track. I agreed to playing Isha before listening to the whole story for several reasons. Firstly, I have not done anything substantial for Balaji Telefilms since my Kitani Mohabbat Hai days and secondly and importantly, Bade Achhe..is one show where the acting, unlike most dailies, is very realistic. Normally, there is a difference between how people behave in real life and how they act in TV serials; thankfully that is not the case with Bade…. So this gives me an opportunity to unlearn all the TV acting I have picked up in the last 10 years,” the actress observes.
Rakshanda who came into the limelight with Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin says, “One of the reasons why I have survived for long in this cut-throat TV industry could be that I have always taken breaks e.g I was away for two years before returning with Ammaji Ki Galli. Hence, viewers are not tired of seeing my face day in and day out,” she maintains.
The sexy looking actress has also played different characters not just sticking to a glam babe role. “If you look at my recent career graph, I have always oscillated between glam and de glam avatars. If I played a housewife in Amma ji then I did a glammy role in Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev (Madnike). I have also played a small-town lawyer in Phulwa. In fact, I can go on to say that Isha is my only other full blown glamorous role since Mallika in Jassi Jaissi… Not a bad idea after 10 years any fashion comes back,” she exclaims.
Rakshanda has no idea if her track in Bade would be a cameo like many of her other recent roles. “But I would prefer shorter assignments for they leave me enough time to also take care of my event management company,” she concludes
