The talented actress Suhita Thatte who has shown her acting skills in many of the television shows such as Reth, Banoo Mai Teri Dulhan and many others , and also in Marathi movies, is seen playing the role of Nani in Essel Vission’s daily soap Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi on Zee TV.
On the same we got in a candid chat with Suhita Thatte to tell us more about her character in the show, how does she feel being a part of this show, what made her take up Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi, the reel and real life similarities and much more.
Here is what she said…
When asked Suhita about her character, she said, “Nani is not highly educated but is shown very modern in the show. She is an independent woman and has her own business. She sells pizza and is a very happy go lucky woman. The only person that she does not gel in the show is Baa (Farida Dadi) and the sad part that she dislikes is that her own son is not willingly supportive to his sister Shruti.”
She further elaborated saying, “Nani’s only motto in life is that she does not want her daughter Shruti to suffer in her life after the death of Shruti’s husband. Hence I support her and my grand-daughters in all the possible ways.”
On being asked Suhita about the reel fact that she believes in her real life too, she said, “Like the storyline of the show says that Ami is an average student who is very naughty too, I too support Ami when she makes any mistakes and then try to make her understand. I feel that if you want to make anybody perform well then you have to support them which I follow in my real life too. I keep saying these lines in the show repeatedly as my daughter Shruti is a bit strict towards Ami.”
Nani is just not close to Ami but also her daughter Shruti, “It is not just that I am close to Ami but I also think a lot for my daughter Shruti. I feel sad for her that she has lost her husband at a very early stage when her daughters were very young. I had experienced the same too hence I suggest her to get married again. I don’t feel there is anything wrong in getting married for the second time.”
She supports Punar Vivah in real life too, “How much ever a person is strong at the end he/she needs a partner to share their grief. Hence I totally support Punar Vivah’. I have made a mistake of not getting married in the show but I strongly think that Shruti should marry now.”
Nani is very much similar to what I am in my real life says Suhita, “Well I am the same in my real life too, very supportive to my daughter. I will be the same towards my grand-children too as I am not a Nani yet in real life (smiles). I feel that I am playing myself in this show which makes me love this character of Nani even the more.”
Suhita is happy to share with us on what made her take up this show, “All the characters in the show are very real, they do not seem like created ones. Less of drama and very much of practicality of real life is shown and that is what made me take up this show.”
