The Ahujas of SAB TV’s Gutur Gu to visit an unknown planet

“Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Her five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.”

The above lines are from the memorable speech delivered by Captain James T Kirk (Wiiliam Shatner) in the legendary TV serial Star Trek.

In 1989, Sigma which seemed to draw a lot of inspiration from Star Trek hit the Indian TV screens on Doordarshan. Travel in outer space has always fascinated television viewers.

Last year Sony Entertainment Television aired an Adaalat (Contiloe Entertainment) episode which was set in outer space. In the weekend, Sony TV’s sister channel SAB TV will telecast a Gutur Gu (Fireworks Productions) episode in which the entire Ahuja family undertake an amazing journey into ‘the final frontier’.

You have already seen on the weekend’s teaser that the Ahujas are elated on coming to know of a tour package which zooms earthlings to the moon and back at a stupefying discounted rate of Rs 50,000.

We called up Bhavana Balsaver who plays Bhavna Ahuja on the show who was happy to share with us, “This is a very interesting and challenging episode with great special effects. We put in a lot of hard work into it and got to do many stunts too while executing the flying shots in the fictional zero gravity zones.”

A source informed us that instead of reaching the moon, the Ahujas are deviated to another planet.

Bhavana informed us, “The planet the Gutur Gu characters visit is an extremely beautiful one abounding in natural beauty with humungous flowers and mushrooms and lovely trees.”

Fantasy is gaining immense popularity on television. Bhavana reasoned, “Day to day life is very stressful. We are looking for an outlet to escape from this mundane world.”
