Shweta Tiwari chooses Mad in India over daily soaps to spend time with daughter
Why did this gorgeous star walk over a daily for a weekly?
“I was getting daily soaps, but I wasn’t getting one where I could have given two years happily. Moreover, I needed time with my daughter,” says the actress with a sweet smile.
She further goes on to add, “The other day she walked in with a male friend of hers and introduced him to me as her best friend. I almost got an attack at that moment and I asked her ‘how a boy can be your best friend?’ And she casually asked me to chill. Since she is in her teens I feel like staying with her. I feel you have to be there to see that your child is going right.”
So does this mean that you will not take a daily anytime soon? “Till I don’t get a good show I won’t take one for sure. A lot of actors take up work because they are worried about answering others about their work. But, I can’t take up work because people are going to question me.”
How much freedom do you give Palak (her daughter)? “I don’t give her any freedom. We have a CCD in the lane right in front of our house but I don’t even let her go there. I am just too scared to leave her alone. A lot of terrible things have happened in my life and I don’t want more twists and turns.”
Shweta is definitely a strict mother today, but this is not something that she has planned. “I have realised that I am a strict mom. So this is not something that I knew I’d turn out to be. And I think it’s also because she has grown up,” avers the actress.
She further says, “I keep shuffling between Bangalore and Mumbai as my husband (Abhinav Kohli) has his publishing house there. Hence, my daughter ends up wearing most of my clothes in my absence; this is why I have to be around her (laughs).”
We are sure most of the mothers out there know what Shweta is exactly going through!
