Mansi Srivastava, who was seen playing Jasleen in Channel V’s Suvreen Guggal and Heer in Rab Se Sohna Ishq is all set to play the protagonist Shivani in Film Farm’s upcoming show Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se. We got in touch with the pretty actress to know more about her character and about her experience of being a part of the show.
Tell us something about your character?
I am playing the character of Shivani Rana. She is like a princess in a fairy tale and she is pampered girl who belongs to a rich family. She has always got whatever things she has wanted. A girl without any parents, she has been brought up by her grandpa.
How is Mansi in her real life?
Being the only child of my parents, I am little bit pampered but not as much like Shivani. My dad made me independent so, here I am.
What made you take up the show?
I have always wanted to be in the field of acting so I have been giving auditions since day I landed in Mumbai. It’s been 8 months I have shifted here. I got Suvreen Guggal – Topper of the year and played the younger sister of Suvreen, Jasleen Guggal. Later, I got Rab Se Sohna Ishq as Heer and now this show is a big break for me and I am happy about it.
What kind of struggle have you faced so far?
I used to give audition every day from the day I have landed in Mumbai. I haven’t sat home even for one single day. That’s why I kept getting work because I kept working hard for it.
How is it working with Alok Nath?
It’s exciting to work with him. I have seen his movies like Hum Apke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain since my childhood days. He takes care of me like a baby off-screen too. I remember the day when I was giving my first close-up and only I was required for the shot but he also stood there so that I can be comfortable while the shots were being taken. I am also enjoying working with Arhaan Behll. He is quite popular and I got to see his popularity while we were shooting in Jodhpur.
What was your reaction when you were offered the show?
I was very happy and I went to the Siddhivinayak temple, first to thank God and then I told my parents about it. When the promos went on-air, my friends and family congratulated me later but they complimented me about my looks and costume in the show.
How was the experience shooting in Jodhpur?
It was a very good experience while shooting in Jodhpur. We didn’t get much time to see the city but we managed to see the city like the Mehrangarh Fort in the evening. We got to see the blue hues of the city because of which the city is known as the ‘Blue City.’
What are your expectations from the show?
I have lots of expectations from the show and I am excited for it. It’s very important that the audience likes our show. While we all are giving our 100% to it, I am giving 200% as it’s my first show as a lead.
