Shilpa Shinde feels Chidiya Ghar follows family traditions unlike most other SAB TV shows
Shilpa Shinde who made a comeback to television with SAB TV’s Chidiya Ghar (produced by Garima Productions) is happy with the way her show is faring at the ratings chart(1.7 TVR as per).
Talking about it, Shilpa tells us, “Our show rocks mainly because we are among the few shows on SAB TV which actually follows the family traditions of the channel. If you look at our concept, every story gives out a moral to the viewers at the end. Babuji (Rajendra Gupta) explains what is right and what is wrong. Such things do not happen a lot in other shows of the channel except Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.”
Explaining why the title is specifically kept ‘Chidiya Ghar’, Shilpa says, “As per the dictum of the show, every family member is like some animal, hence the title. My character is supposed to have the characteristics of a koyal. However, I am very unlike a koyal. I am fair while the beautiful bird is dark. It can sing while I cannot croon to save my life (laughs)”.
Shilpa goes on, “Being the eldest bahu of the Narayan family, Koyal has to be quite mature unlike the younger daughter-in-law Mayuri (Debina Bonnerjee) who can be funny at times.”
On the off screen rapport with co-actor Debina, Shilpa states, “We are quite good and what works for us is that we both are professionals and do not interfere in each other’s personal spaces. If either one of us gets late, the other does not throw a fit.”
Shilpa who has portrayed various challenging roles (from being a positive character in Maayka and Waaris to a negative role in Bhabhi, and now trying her hands at comedy with Chidiya Ghar) wants to try her hand at an adventure non-fiction show. “I would be game for something like Khatron Ke Khiladi”, avers Shilpa before signing off.
May Chidiya Ghar give you all the fame and recognition, Shilpa..
