Sharad Kelkar shares his personal and professional life with us

Sharad Kelkar is upbeat about his show on Sony Entertainment Television, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (Director’s Kut) doing well at the 11 pm slot.

Says Sharad, “Given the mature theme of the show, it was always exclusively slotted at the late night hour. Better late than never, we are now tapping a dedicated audience which tunes in regularly to know what is happening in the lives of Dr Ashutosh and Dr Nidhi (Kritika Kamra).”

Sharad is glad that the action has shifted now to the hospital scenes. “The focus is still on romance between the married couple, but against the backdrop of medical cases.”

Remind Sharad that Nidhi was never shown to be in hospital initially, and he states, “I can only talk about the time since I came on board (he replaced Mohnish Behl six months back). After I came in, Nidhi could not be shown in the hospital for a while as the wedding was being focused upon. After that, I was down with the knee surgery and that forced the makers to show me at home.”

Do you feel that having a spouse in the same profession works? “Yes, it did in my case (he is married to Sindoor Tere Naam Ka and Saat Phere co -star Keerti Gaekwad ). In today’s times you are at your place of work for around 10/12 hours hence having your loved one around does make things easier. But you need to keep egos outside, otherwise things can go wrong.”
