Sangram Singh punches hard; scares off junior artist on the sets of Shapath
Internationally acclaimed wrestler Sangram Singh has been signed to play a dashing cop in Life OK’s Hum Ne Li Hai … Shapath (Fireworks Productions).
We are happy for him but it seems that the actor has been taking his role way too seriously.
Our sources from the sets informed that while shooting for one of the sequences, he punched (in real) a junior artist so hard that he hurt himself bad. And the poor fellow got so scared that he absconded only to return after four days.
“Yes, he did get hit and fell on another corner of the room,” confessed Sangram who further went on to add, “The scene required me to punch and I did the same from a distance but the fight master wanted the scene to look more real and he asked me to punch him in a manner that my hand touched his body. I did exactly what he wanted but that resulted in the poor man falling in a corner. In fact, I had even warned the director about my hand being heavier than other actors but he insisted.”
This must have been quite a scene!!!
So, does the action director still insist on the same? “Not at all. He has asked me to punch from a distance now,” laughed out loud Sangram.
Furthermore, the actor has been performing his stunts on his own instead of using a body double as he went on to narrate. “There was this scene where I had to jump in front of a moving car from its roof and I did it. The director did advice a body double but I found the task pretty exciting and did not feel like giving this opportunity to anybody else.”
Looks like Sangram is enjoying his stint in this Life OK show.
His entry episode will air on 5 April 2014 and the artist will be seen as himself ‘Sangram Singh’ on-screen too.
