Salman Khan turns Sallu Barber on Colors’ Mission Sapne
Known to many as the Godfather and a helping hand for most in the industry, Salman Khan proved it yet again when he decided to help Qurbaan Ali, a victim of an unfortunate train accident. A barber by profession, Qurbaan lost both his legs when he made a wrong move and crossed train tracks in Mumbai. Having his financial situation go topsy-turvy, surviving in the city of dreams turned into a nightmare for Qurbaan. However when Salman Khan decided to help Qurbaan, it was a dream come true for the crippled man with his idol Salman Khan stepping into his shoes for one whole day and ease his financial loss.
An extremely grateful and excited Qurbaan Ali said, “Fans go crazy just to get a glimpse of him and here is my idol coming to meet me. I could not believe my eyes when I saw Salman Bhai giving customers ‘champis’ and haircuts. It was a surreal experience for me to witness all this.” After being on the receiving end of Salman Khan’s aide, Qurbaan was even more convinced that the star knows the true value of being human. Salman Khan convinced him that he should use the money raised for purposes other than his prosthetic legs and that the star will personally fund him for the same.
Salman Khan’s mischievous side was brought out on field when he sprayed foam all over a man who wished to sport a Ghajni look. The superstar who found inspiration from the movie ‘You Don’t Mess With The Zohan’ and gave a child the much sought-after spikes. When a bald man walked up to him wanting a haircut, Salman styled his beard for him, without getting fazed or batting an eyelash. Champis, hairstyles, shoulder massages, Sallu bhai did it all and even went on to share his Tere Naam hairstyle story. Commenting on his day as a hairstylist, Salman Khan said, “A common man who is differently abled is getting help through Mission Sapne, which I think is a great thing. I think this show has made the best use of television as a medium. There’s entertainment as well as a social message here. I had good fun spending a day doing what Qurbaan does. Thank you for calling me on the show.”
The show, hosted by Sonali Bendre, features 10 celebrities including Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra, Karan Johar, Ram Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Mika Singh, Drashti Dhami and Harbhajan Singh. The amount that the celebrities have earned during the course of the day, is then multiplied by 100 and the sum total is presented to the common man to fulfill his dreams.
