‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012 HOT or NOT’ app gets over 1 lakh votes in 2 days
Setting benchmarks in the reality genre on Indian television, ‘Hero Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ has taken interactivity on the digital platform to an all new high. With a view to heighten engagement, the digital mediums have been used innovatively to engage the viewers’ right in the beginning of the show. Even before the interactivity stage, Zee TV involved the viewers right at the audition stage by showcasing the videos of some contestants on the special app ‘HOT or NOT’ app on Facebook from 6 to 7 October, 2012. Audiences were given the power to vote for the singers they wanted to see move ahead in the show. And, a record figure of 1.2 lakh votes was cast on Facebook just in a day for the very first time on a music reality show in India.

Not only this, to keep the brand buzzing, the show has devised some more fantastic apps like the ‘Call & Sing App’ which is the first ever app made for an Indian reality show. It is a cutting-edge Mobile + Facebook app which enables the viewer to sing on their mobile phones, post the audio clip on the ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ Facebook page as well as their own Timeline even when they are ‘on-the-go’. This app successfully integrates the ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ TV and web experience, giving individuals the ability to customise and engage. The ‘Call and Sing App’ is hosted on ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ Facebook page. There is also a ‘Sur Tab’ which has ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa’ as syllables on a tab that can be arranged by a viewer to produce different music. Once arranged, the sur can be heard and shared by the viewer immediately. The ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mobile App’ also has a media gallery of videos and photos, singing & music tutorials by mentors, anchor and contestants. Here, the viewers get an opportunity to chat regularly with the mentors, anchors and contestants. There is also a ‘Did You Know’ option with trivia related to music.
