Sanchi’s room
The unfortunate mother is left dumbstruck by Indu’s candid remarks. She walks out of the room, dragging her daughter out with her as she leaves.
‘If you are NOT following the judge’s orders, then what is Indu Singh doing in your room?’ the pained mother enquires tearfully
Sanchi tries to pacify her mother – letting her know that Indu had blackmailed her into following either both orders or none at all. She assures the lady that they shared no relationship and that she’d handle the troublemaker herself.
A heavy-hearted Veena eventually leaves the corridor, quite unconvinced.

Sanchi struts back to her room and finds Indu sipping on her tea, while lounging on her chair. She walks up to the man to confront him. Happily enjoying Sanchi’s share of tea, Indu begins mock-complimenting her abilities ‘A wife should be like you…if not, no point being a wife at all…you understand what a husband wants without even him mentioning it…I needed a tea so badly and here it is… my head was throbbing with a headache and this tea has helped me a lot!’
She takes the tea away from him and asks him to exert a tiny bit of effort to go get one by himself – after all tea stall was only a few paces away.
Irked by Sanchi’s statement, Indu rebuffs her ‘I’m the son-in-law of this house…why should I get it… you ask me to fetch milk…to fetch vegetables…what do you think of me…’
‘Why?’ She queries wryly ‘Do you consider yourself so smart? Now that I’ve kept up my end of the deal…its your turn to do so too…we spent the night in the same room…now its your turn to take up the household expenses and housework too…’

At first he darts her an intimidating glare and then suddenly mellows down ‘Do I need to go now?’ She nods her head affirmatively.
Slapping his hands into a namaste, he gets off her chair and slips on his sandals – all the time whining like a kid ‘How happy I was as a singleton…could come and go as I pleased…now that I’m married…she doesn’t allow me to sleep throughout the night and then sends me off to bring this…bring that…’
Sanchi has a broad grin on her face as she watches Indu leave in a huff. Holding on to the cup of tea, she vows silently ‘Wanted to become an IDEAL husband, didn’t you…I’ll show you how it works…will trouble you to such an extent, that you’ll rethink any notion of harassing me ever again!’
She then glances down at the cup of tea in her hand and makes a sour face at it.

The hall
Radha is complaining about the amount of workload she had to tend to when she ends up barging into Veena. Being unjust, Radha admonishes her for the event, but Veena does not respond to the chiding. Appearing lost in thoughts, the mother silently walks away, surprising Radha. Least bothered, Radha then waltzes into the kicthen and finds Anita doing the dishes. Needless to say, the vicious lady becomes livid. She begins scolding Anita for helping the Mathurs. However, Anita ends up making up an excuse to evade further interrogation.
Listening to her sister-in-law’s explanations, Radha momentarily lets go of the incident and instead orders her to prepare some tea. Anita proceeds to do as told and checks in the fridge for the milk – but it was empty. The timid lady offers to bring it from the milk booth, but Radha stops her from doing so. Rather, she traipses out into the hall and starts howling loudly – calling out to the Mathurs.
Once Tarachand, Veena and Sanchi arrive in response, Radha criticizes them very harshly for not storing enough milk in the fridge. Enraged by Radha’a attitude, Sanchi defiantly informs Radha that she’d asked ‘their nephew’ to buy some milk before hand ‘If he hasn’t done so, then how is it our fault?’
To add to the already jarring cacophony in the living room, Tiwari also steps downstairs -joining his wife in support ‘Why should my nephew go? Why can’t you go – its only a small task to do!’
Sanchi insults him in return, telling him how they’d camped in the Mathur mansion but did not help with any chores. She warns him in no unclear terms that if they wanted to live here, they had to contribute towards house work too!’
Veena attempts to stop what seemed like an escalating brawl, but both Tarachand and Sanchi adamantly refuse to budge from their demands.

The Tiwaris now had little choice. Just then, Indu steps in too – he makes it quite clear that he did not intend to carry out any such domestic tasks for the house. He asks his mama ‘Why can’t we ask Sushil mama to get it for us?’
Sadanand corrects him saying Sushil was a wrestler and hence not adept with such household chores. Besides, the man was more accustomed to drinking litres of milk rather than procuring it from shops. Sadanad then goes on to put up an act of how busy he was, thus subtly goading Indu to carry out the errand for the Tiwari family. Just then, Indu manages to steal a glance at Sanchi. He notices that she seemed to be enjoying the confounding scenario going on amidst the Tiwari clan.
‘What are you staring at?’ he asks her irately
Sanchi does not say anything, but continues smiling at him teasingly. Though silent, her eyes speak volumes – she was elated that Indu HAD no other go, but to follow the orders and carry out the errand.
Bowing to the power she had over him, Indu sulks ‘Fine…fine…I’ve committed no crime…before another riot breaks out in this house, I’ll run off and fetch the milk’

Brooding about how he was forced to bow down every time, Indu starts walking off, when Sanchi reminds him that milk could not be brought back home in kurta pockets. Annoyed, he waits at his spot, while sanchi returns with a large stainless steel cannister. Seeing how he was unwilling to receive it, Sanchi thumps it in his hand.
No sooner than the offended young man was about to leave, Sanchi stops him once again ‘Now that you are going all the way, why don’t you get me some hot jelabis too?’
Peeved, Indu nods his head sarcastically ‘Oh is it so?’
‘And oh yes…some flowers for the pooja too’
‘Oh I see…anything else?’
‘Yes..how about fetching the newspaper from the shop too?’
By this point, the man was seething in anger ‘Anything else?’
‘Don’t forget to get the bills for everything…we need to sort our bills in front of the judge, remember? Everything 50-50!’ Sanchi has a satirical grin on her face.
Barring Tarachand, none of the other spectators are pleased with Sanchi’s actions.
‘Anything else?’ Indu grits his teeth
‘No! For now, this will do’
Looking away in disgust, Indu bites the bullet and leaves.
Once the young man had left, Veena calls out to her daughter ‘Sanchi come to the room, I need to speak to you about something important’
Sanchi obliges.

Veena’s room
Locking the room, Veena approaches Sanchi with a stern glare. On being questioned by her daughter, Veena starts spewing out the truth – admitting the troubles that had been eating her up since that morning ‘Everything’s happened…everything’s finished now…you father-daughter duo don’t understand realities…now that you both have spent the night together…its better you accept him as your husband rather than granting him a divorce…forget about all this hostility…’
Sanchi is startled. She steps up to the pale lady and informs her that nothing had happened between the two throughout the night!
‘This is something only you and I know…’ Veena surmises ‘How will you explain all this to society and the world’ she pauses ‘After today, you will NOT fight with him…I don’t want to hear anything about this!’
‘Whatever you say ma, but I will not remain quiet…’ Sanchi retorts resolutely ‘I will teach him a lesson…I don’t share any relationship with him…today, yesterday or tomorrow…’
The aggrieved lady shouts back ‘Even I don’t want to maintain any relations with him…no I don’t…however, some relationships are bound by fate – precisely how Indu Singh’s entered your life…now, I want to hear nothing else!’
Sanchi is shocked by her mother’s stance – the girl doesn’t know what to say.
Veena pleads with her silent daughter ‘Well he is your husband at least till you both divorce right…legally… please consider him your husband at least till then…’
Appalled by the counsel her traditionalist-mother was giving her, Sanchi rejects her wishes and storms out of the room unhappily.
Watching her daughter leave, the conservative Veena is saddened. She dwells on the crisis she was undergoing – after what she’d seen that morning, she HAD to consider Indu Singh as her son in law and the Tiwaris as her relatives. There was no other go and she didn’t want to act otherwise.

The hall
Sanchi is ready to leave for her university – she looks forward to munching on the fresh jelabis that Indu Singh would have brought home. However, on arriving downstairs, she discovers that the Tiwaris had already partaken the delicious breakfast.
‘What’s this’ Sanchi demands to know
Relishing the meal he’d just had Indu licks on his fingers. Picking up the empty parcel of jelabis, the satiated young man approaches his wife ‘Well you’d asked me to get you some jelabis…so I brought them and ate them…now your job is to take these packets and throw them…that way our tasks have been divided 50-50!’ he flashes her a subtle yet vindictive smile ‘Take it… its all finished…’
when she doesn’t stretch her hand out, Indu thumps the parcel into her palms.
Riled by their actions, Sanchi hurls the empty packet on the table and then storms off to the university.

The university
Sanchi is maddened – she’d apparently updated Mehek on all that transpired in her home in the last 24 hours, but hadn’t expected Mehek to be so amused by it. Unable to control her laughter, Mehek apologizes for finding Sanchi’s daily life nothing less interesting than a bollywood movie!
‘Wow what a friend I have…’ Sanchi begrudges ‘Instead of helping me out you’re happy commenting on my life…fine…do as you please’
Meanwhile, Mehek finds herself in a brief dilemma – whether she had to inform Sanchi about Abhimanyu or not. However, what was there to inform – when Abhimanyu had provided nothing concrete aganinst Indu Singh.
Temporarily shutting away the line of thoughts, Mehek springs an idea on her friend ‘What you just did last night, why don’t you continue doing so for a week?’ she explains to her intrigued friend ‘Don’t let him sleep for an entire week…we know how important sleep is to humans…then he’ll surely leave you alone…’
‘But ‘I’ have to stay awake for that too’ Sanchi complains
‘Change your schedule…leave college early…rest for 4-5 hours…and then at night pester him…in a while he’ll be at wits end and beg you for forgiveness’ Mehek advices spiritedly – probably enjoying the entire scenario playing in her imagination!
Sanchi pledges that she couldn’t tolerate the man for even one more night in her bedroom – so she’d resort to anything that needed doing. If only she could get hold of a list of Indu’s weaknesses!
Mehek has an answer to that too. Though she doesn’t reveal about her ongoing connection with Abhimanyu, she assures her friend that she’ll get her such a list very soon.
Sanchi then harps on how the Tiwaris were tormenting her parents and how they were even worse than Indu Singh. She desperately needed to find a way to get rid of the offensive trio.

University canteen
‘Why would she torture me…I’ll torture her…make her life living hell…’ Relaxing on a canteen chair in the midst of his friends, Indu removes his glasses and pins it on his kurta ‘She’s given me a headache…’
Kneading his painful forehead, he whistles to summon the attendant and orders for 2 cups of strong ginger tea. The boys ask him why he’d ordered for 2 cups – however, they obtain no answer. The notice that the sleep-deprived Indu had already dozed off on his palms.
Guddu nudges him with a mischeivous grin ‘Seems like bhabhiji has REALLY TROUBLED bhaiyyaji a lot throughout the night…what do you say bhaiyyaji’
Snapping out of his dazed state, Indu brushes off the subtle hints his friends were dropping him and doesn’t respond with an answer. Once the tea arrives, the boys jovially ask him to drink the 2 strong cups of tea so that he could come out of the ‘DREAMY’ state he was in.
Studying Indu’s silence, Yogi speaks up in a prank-filled tone ‘Have to ask you something…don’t take me wrong…but seems like bhabhiji didn’t let you sleep throughout the night…’
‘Mad or what?’ Indu appears mildly irritated ‘Can’t think straight? You know that the both of us simply CANNOT get along…’ he folds his palms ‘Pray…I just want to see the end of this marriage… she didn’t even let me sleep through the night…switching the light on and off…spraying my eyes…splashing hot water on my face…’ at this point his friends simply cannot control their laughter, while the troubled young man concludes ‘I was waiting for daylight, so I could leave the room!’
Growing increasingly annoyed by how his friends were having fun at his expense, Indu chides them.
Tempering their chuckles, the boys then give him an idea – basically similar to what Mehek had adviced Sanchi – sleep during the day and pester the other one at night!

Indu mulls upon their words – it all seemed quite doable and enjoyable too!

Precap: Indu is lovingly handing over a packet to sanchi, claiming that it was the flowers she’d asked him to bring. Sanchi accepts the packet from him and opens it – she gets pricked. In reality, it was a thorny cactus. Indu stares at her.
