Ruk Jana Nahin 20th November 2012 Written Update

MATHURS’
Radha lights the Diwali lamps at home and prays to the Lord that the Mathur mansion should soon become hers. Sada approaches her. The husband-wife share a tender moment before Sada gives her the news of Sanchi’s critical state. The pair have a brief bout of celebration following that (how sick!). Sada even mulls on the fact that had he met Ranjith Thakur earlier, he’d have got rid of Sanchi, Indu and the Mathurs from his life forever! However, Radha is not too perturbed – after all, the root of all her worries seemed to be eradicated. The rest of the family would also meet their end sooner or later.

Anita overhears this and takes Radha to task for celebrating someone else’s adversity! Especially, when the Mathurs had been financially supporting them in their house for so long.
Radha instantly barks back a volley of insults. Following this Sushil jumps to Anita’s support and then Sada to Radha’s. While Sushil and Anita try making the vile pair understand reality, Sada and Radha are intent on trying to shut the younger sibling up.
Brushing off Sada’s instructions, Sushil leads Anita outside the door, stating that he was going to visit Sanchi at the hospital. Sadha and Radha realize that they should also probably keep up appearances and make their presence felt at the scene of the tragedy.

HOSPITAL ROOM
Indu is lying on his bed as his blood is being drawn to be transfused to Sanchi. Indu divulges to the doctor that she could extract as much blood of his that she wanted – but that Sanchi should be safe!
The doctor assures him that she was doing what was best for both.

HOSPITAL-OUTSIDE THE OT
Soon after, Sushil and Anita arrive outside the OT and comfort Veena and Tarachand. Radha sheds her fair share of crocodile tears too. While Anita supportively sits beside the tearful mother, Veena prays to the Lord to evoke his blessings for her daughter’s health.

Rejoining his family outside the OT, Indu waits restlessly for any news of his wife. The nurse advices him to have a bottle of glucose (since he’d donated blood) but he refuses to have have anything to eat/drink till he learnt about Sanchi’s health.

A short distance away…
Fed up of the depressing scenes surrounding her, Radha gets up and walks up to the lift to leave the place. While waiting for the lift to arrive, the selfish woman mutters to herself about how she’d been inconvenienced by all of it – even goes so far as to say that if Sanchi’s death was hastened, things would be so much rosier for her!
Much to her shock, Veena’d overheard all of it. The agonized mother forcibly turns her around and metes her a pounding slap on her face.

While Radha is dumbstruck, Veena goes on to express her heart-wrenching emotions ‘What do you want? My house? Take my house, my wealth, clothes… take everything but don’t curse my daughter so… you act like my sister and then harbour such hatred behind my back..what have we not done for you… we housed you thinking of you as my daughter’s in-laws… we respected you.. and this is how you repay favours…its all my fault…if we’d turned you away from our doorstep that day I wouldn’t have had to see this day…’ Veena pauses amidst her sobs ‘If I hadn’t come here to fetch water for Indu, I wouldn’t have heard your words…how would you know what it feels like to be a mother…this is why God has made you childless…you don’t know what a mother’s heart is…you don’t know what a mother’s pain is when her child is fighting to survive…get lost from here…we don’t want your fake empathy…’
Veena’s final words manage to rattle Radha far more than she thought she could ever be. Crushed by the reminder of reality, Radha’s eyes well up and she starts crying.

OUTSIDE THE OT
The nurse requests Indu to get some injections and medicines for Sanchi which he dashes to do so eagerly.

Just then, Sada receives a call from someone and the anxious man moves a few paces away to attend it. The caller was none other than Sada’s accomplice who’d planted the pirated Cds in Indu’s shop. The two men have an argument about Sada short-changing him, but Sada tries evading the man’s complaints. Once the irked man cuts the call, Sada turns around – only to realize he’d been caught out! Indu had overheard everything!
The distressed Indu recollects how his uncle had lured him into the idea of a shop and how he’d shown mock-encouragement over many points of time too! Aggravated by the harsh truth, Indu lunges forward and grabs Sada by his collar accusing him of trapping him in the Cd fiasco.
Their attention now diverted towards Indu’s loud yells, the rest of the family join the scene and swiftly realize what had happened.
‘You created problems between Sanchi and I’ the distraught Indu continues blaming the lawyer ‘I’m ashamed to call you my mama…you’ve played worse games with me than one would with their enemies…it was my mistake that I took you back…a demon will always remain a demon!’

Veena joins Indu in rebuking the Tiwaris for their lowly actions. She tells Indu all about how Radha had hoped that Sanchi would breathe her last soon. Indu winces in torment on hearing all of it. Tarachand also witnesses the unfolding spectacle, but chooses to remain a mute spectator to all of it!

Realizing that he was well-caught, Sada once again folds his palms and seeks forgiveness, but Indu retorts in anguish ‘We’ve already tried forgiving you and we’ve borne the consequences for that…now get lost from here…just get lost’

Some time later…
The doctor comes out and lets Indu know that Sanchi’s condition was not stabilizing. She supposes that the bullet had probably been shot from close range. A few moments later, they receive the news that Sanchi’s pulse was dropping constantly.
Following the doctor, the family rush into the corridors of the ICU and can observe from the tiny window how Sanchi was fighting for her life.

Veena begins wailing loudly – begging the Lord to take her life instead her daughter’s!
However, Indu is in a daze of his own. He can’t seem to comprehend what’s going around him or who’s standing beside him. He takes a few lifeless steps back from the doors of the ICU.
He recalls the harrowing incident. He recalls the last few arguments they’d had as a couple. He recalls their mutual challenges. He recalls how he’d vowed he’d give up his life for her if the need ever arose.

Tarachand is incensed by the turn of events and finally gives glimpses of his emotions. The tearful father approaches Indu Singh and starts pouring out his vexations indignantly ‘Ever since you’ve come into her life, she’s never been at peace…your hooliganism has given rise to all of her troubles… and today she’s fighting for her life thanks to you…everything because of you…the sorrow on your face is nothing but an act…’ grabbing the man by his arm, he pushes him away.
Indu does not resist the assault and falls down on the ground impassively.
