Mehek is not entirely happy with Sanchi for having taken matters into her own hands the previous night. She fears for her friend’s safety. Additionally, Mehek feels that the station complaint would have only provoked Indu Singh to remain that much more alert than before ‘Henceforth he’ll never let anything slip with regards to the issue of Swetha’s kidnapping’ she mulls
‘However, we know one thing for sure now…’ Sanchi argues ‘That Indu Singh is indeed Swetha’s kidnapper’
As the two girls are discussing the ‘Swetha’ issue, they come across Rita madam advising a group of junior office staff in the college corridors ‘A senior officer from the Department of Education – a Mr. S.K.Sinha is visiting the campus…he is a strict disciplinarian…the entire campus must seem efficient and organized… this man has suspended 18 staff in other inspections in the past…’
Finally! The tutor’s words were exactly what Sanchi needed to hear – a daring and disciplined education officer! The presence of this senior officer could pressurize the university staff to initiate an investigation into the disappearance of Swetha Jha. Now all she needed was the help of other students to work towards her goal of setting up an enquiry committee.
Approaching a few other girls in the university, Sanchi updates them on the entire issue. On learning the truth the students willingly pledge their support for her cause, shocked that Indu Singh could stoop to such levels of depravity.
Just as she begins inflaming her friends further by commencing an anti-Indu speech, a loud and resounding ‘Good morning madam’ echoes through the corridors.
Turning to the source of the familiar voice, Sanchi watches an upbeat Indu strut down the verandah towards her ‘Tch tch..started off…first thing in the morning…’ he pauses as he comes near her ‘Now…what do I address you as…honourable madam?’ he then pauses to lower his tone ‘Dear wife or…respected opponent’
‘Even I don’t know what to adress you as… honourable opponent or a kidnapper’ she rebukes
Indu smiles ‘Wow you seem to be learning the language of politics too’ he praises her mockingly ‘Good good…one should know how to walk and talk politics, in order to become a leader…’
‘Not just to talk, but to speak the truth’ she pauses ‘The truth that you admitted to… that you have kidnapped Swetha Jha…’
Losing his smile, Indu hesitates for a moment before settling down soon thereafter. He indicates to the small crowd surrounding her ‘Did you tell these people what happened last night… that the police investigated the entire place…made a thorough search…and yet found nothing…’ he smirks ‘Speak the truth? You’re a liar of all sorts!’ he laughs at her and traipses off with his friends
Least bothered by Indu’s antics, Sanchi returns to encourage the remaining students to fight for Swetha’s cause!
Janardhan is worried – the education officer arriving that day was known to be both strict and influential.
Watching him scurry about his activities, a nervous Shukla speaks up hesitantly ‘I feel that we shouldn’t allow Sanchi anywhere near the education officer…that girl is capable of causing a lot of damage to the college reputation by bringing up problems in public. She will not be worried about spoiling the image of this organization’
In what was a rare coincidence; Janardhan wholeheartedly agrees with Shukla’s thought process ‘I had no plan of letting that officer anywhere near Sanchi or her friends, anyway’ Janardhan then notices Shukla’s angst ‘You appear exceptionally worried about something…don’t worry…we’ll feed him well, show him a few clean rooms and then ensure he leaves soon after…but, we all need to work together on this!’
The education officer arrives in his ambassador, greeted by a large crowd under a plethora of umbrellas. It’s monsoon!
Though Sanchi and her gang are waiting to meet him, Janardhan and Shukla swiftly arrive at the scene and manage the situation in their own manner. Janardhan welcomes the man with due respect and starts boasting about his managerial capacities and about the status of the university. The officer expresses interest in meeting the staff and students too, but Janardhan deftly stalls the matter and whisks him away.
Just as the officer is being ushered towards the staff room, the loud helpless cries of a girl reverberate through the corridor. On making a quick search, they find a girl squirming and wriggling in pain on the floor, a few paces away. Everyone begins panicking and numerous pleas are made to summon an ambulance as soon as possible. Just as a tutor is about to ring the hospital, the girl on the floor straightens up her act. She remorsefully folds her palms and stands up to face the group of embarrassed teachers and an irate educational officer.
On realizing that the entire episode was only a charade, the educational officer is quite infuriated and demands an explanation.
After witnessing a brief spell of silence; Sanchi’s proclamation is heard loud and clear ‘I’ll explain everything’
The very sight of her emergence manages to instil fear in both Janardhan and Shukla.
She walks up to the officer, apologizes for the attention-gaining tactic and then proceeds to update him on everything pertaining to the mysterious case of their fellow student – Swetha Jha!
While the tutors are aghast at the disclosure, Janardhan is appalled and Shukla is breaking out into torrents of cold sweat.
Having explained everything she needed to, she concludes her account with the shocking revelation ‘The name of the man who’s kidnapped Swetha Jha is Indu Singh and he’s accepted this in front of me’
Having grown increasingly annoyed by the distressing incidents, the officer expresses his profound anger at the staff’s lax approach to this case ‘I need a enquiry committee started right now… I need a report updating me about the issue within 2 days…’
He then turns to Sanchi and openly praises her efforts, courage and dedication in the matter. Furthermore, he proceeds to take Sanchi along with him while inspecting the rest of the university too (LOL, just what the staff needed!)
Obviously; Janardhan is not too happy about what Sanchi had just done, but Shukla is desperate – he has to save himself somehow.
Though Janardhan tries convincing the officer that the entire kidnapping issue was only a contrived story, the officer pays no heed to his suggestions ‘Get me the report within two days, or I’ll have you dismissed from your position’ he threatens.Turning towards the group of honest girls behind him, the officer then assures them ‘I will give you my personal mobile number and email address…keep me updated on any problems or issues you confront in this matter or in the campus’
Saying so, he leaves behind a couple of distressed professors and many happy girls!
‘She is mad.. why would we kidnap that girl Swetha Jha…especially at a time when I am fighting elections’ Indu roars aloud at an already vexed Janardhan.
‘The inspector has ordered me to do so…so I have to start this enquiry Indu Singh…you have been openly blamed for this deed by Sanchi…’
He grits his teeth. Her very name brought forth feelings of bitterness. He hated her with a passion now ‘She is lying she is defaming me.. she is falsely accusing me of all this…’ he pauses ‘she knows she is losing the elections..she wants to use such devious tactics to win against me’
‘Indu Singh, I am not interested in these election politics…I just want to let you know that other than taking any action against you, I have no other go’ Janardhan justifies
‘No other go?’
‘No’
‘Fine then’ Indu stands up furiously, towering over the frustrated professor ‘This is an accusation- that’s all it is! Now, I accuse her too.. that she’s had Swetha kidnapped to defame me.. and I’ll prove it too… if not, I’ll change my name to something else…’
Watching the indignant young man storm out his staff room, Janardhan silently vows to himself ‘I would be very interested in dragging you to the streets Indu…and I’ll do just that!’
His brows soaked with sweat, Shukla admits his dark secrets to Tiwari ‘I wish I’d murdered Swetha on the first day itself…if it were not for Indu Singh, I would have killed her long ago. How could he just let her walk free after the elections. What guarantee does he have that she’ll not open her mouth later on…’ he slumps on the couch appearing desolate, tears misting his eyes ‘My wife, my kids, my family, my respect, my career, my home – everything will be destroyed!’
Radha prods Tiwari to do something for her brother-in-law and Tiwari endeavours to calm the trembling man down. A few moments on, Tiwari gives Shukla an idea ‘Why don’t you shift Swetha from Indu’s den to some place else, without Indu’s knowledge’. (Tiwari seems to be uber fond of having that girl shifted everywhere round Benaras!)
The macho-man that he is, Shukla walks up to the safe-house. His attempt is to single handedly release and transport a wholly conscious girl to another hideout in broad daylight. (Best of luck Shukla!)
When Swetha catches him walking in and shutting the door behind him, she panics. He starts threatening her, desperation making his visage appear as menacing as could be ‘What did you think, that just because you paid me some money, that you have the right to skew my life…all through the year, girls like you waste your time, refuse to study and then suddenly yearn for high marks in exams…what am I supposed to do…do you think I own a factory that prints false marksheets?’
Fidgeting like a wild man, he opens up the rope tying her hand ‘Enough of this idiocy…Indu Singh has served you in his own way…now, I’ll serve you in mine’
Just as he manages to loosen her ropes, the pair scramble to gain an upper-hand over the other. Having eventually freed herself, Swetha runs forward and manages to find an iron pole in a corner. Observing Shukla advance towards her, Swetha grabs the pole and knocks him around a few times. While the frenzied professor struggles to compose himself, Swetha runs to the door to try and open the latch. However, Shukla eventually catches up and grabs her by her hand. In an attempt to pull her away from the door, he violently swings her around and she ends up banging her head on the corner of a trunk.
She falls down unconscious on the ground, blood oozing from the back of her head. Shukla is a nervous wreck now.
Precap: The boys walk inside the hideout, laughing aloud, when they come across an unconscious Swetha. The blood stains on the floor are apparent. Everyone’s face suddenly turns a few shades paler. Indu is absolutely aghast!
