Detailed Update by lashy:
Sanchi’s room
Indu is stretching his hand over her – like as though he is reaching out to something. Misintepreting his actions, Sanchi quickly grabs the cannister from under her pillow and sprays a generous amount over his eyes. Taking a moment to fathom what hit him, Indu clenches his eyes in anguish. He jumps off the bed and struggles to regain balance.
‘Are you mad? Are you insane?’ he curses her as the unfortunate man hops around in agony ‘I was only trying to reach out for a blanket…what have you done to me?’
His confession instantly startles Sanchi – what HAD she done?
Alighting from the bed, she runs towards Indu and asks him – immediate desperation and guilt evident in her manner ‘Sorry…sorry…sorry…if you wanted a blanket you could’ve asked me…I would have given it you…’
Watching his palms still firmly on his smarting eyes, Sanchi enquires agitatedly ‘Is it burning a lot?’
‘What do you think?’ He shouts back in reply
Sanchi immediately rushes towards the door and steps out to fetch a jug of water. In the meanwhile the temporarily-blinded Indu had managed to bang into a few corners and objects – thus hurting his knee and elbow in the process too!
No sooner than the girl hastens back to the bedroom, she leads the overwhelmed Indu towards the balcony and then starts sprinkling some water on his eyes.
Squirming and crying in pain, he winces every time the water hit his eyes. Seeing no improvement in his condition, a remorseful Sanchi takes the end of her dupatta and then dips it into the jug. She leans over to the writhing young man and dabs it on his eyes – yet, the burning sensation showed no signs of reduction.
‘Is it better now?’ she asks him gently
‘No’ he says, his eyes still shut tight
She pulls him down to her level and opens his right eye. The silent girl gingerly begins blowing into it. She repeats the same with his left eye too ‘Feeling any better at all, now?’
‘No!’ he replies unhappily
‘Indu Singh…I’ve done a grave mistake…’ she apologizes gently ‘If you wanted a blanket, you should have asked me…’
Displeased by the torment he had been compelled to endure, Indu retorts on a dismal note ‘How should I ask you…you keep taunting me…if I’d asked you, you’d have replied that I should help myself since I have perfectly functioning hands and legs…and that I’m good-for-nothing…’
Unable to tolerate the burning sensation in his eyes any more, Indu begins hopping about.
Troubled by the fact that she caused him such harm, Sanchi once again pulls the tall man down and gently starts blowing into both his eyes. Clasping his face within her soft palms, she simultaneously tends to both eyes. Though his eyes still closed, Indu is able to feel her hand on his cheeks – needless to say, it felt like heaven. Savouring the sensation of her fingers on his face, he begins to thoroughly enjoy what she was doing.
A short while of caressing later, Sanchi realizes what Indu was up to and her demenour takes an instant turn.
She flashes him a sarcastic smile ‘So Indu Singh, now are you feeling better?’
Still curling his eyes as he reels from the scorching pain, Indu nods his head – his voice dreamy ‘Y…yes I’m feeling much better now’
He requests her to continue what she was doing, but she struts off saying she’s off to get him a ‘good’ medicine for his problem now.
In her absence, Indu relives the moment he’d just shared with her – little did the poor man know that his joy was to be short lived!
She returns with a glass of water in her hand.
‘Is this the ‘good’ medicine?’ he asks her, a bit confused
‘Yes’ she beams and then splashes it on his face.
He once again starts jumping about in distress – the water squirted on his face was hot!
While he howls at how the water was now burning his skin, Sanchi starts celebrating in joy.
‘Good that the water was not all THAT hot Indu Singh’ she tells him
He removes his kurta and dabs it on his face for relief.
Tiwari’s bedroom
Since the couple were standing in the terrace while their drama was unfolding, the Tiwaris manage to hear the uproar that Indu was raising. They wonder what could be going on with the troubled pair. Radha and Sada are not happy with the fact that Indu and Sanchi are cooping up in one room at night. However, they pledge that they’d always ensure enough hatred stayed afloat in Indu’s and Sanchi’s lives -forever!
Sanchi’s bedroom
Seated on the bed, Indu is still dabbing his face with his kurta. He whines ‘Can’t believe you’d throw boiling water at me…imagine if I burst out into blisters…my face would be damaged…’
Sanchi can’t help but smile at his over-reaction – after all the water was not all that hot! She even mischeivously tut tuts at his expressions.
Enraged, he slaps his palms into a namaste ‘Oh Madam! Now please sleep and let me sleep too… you’ve managed to ruin my entire night…I’ve confronted many abnormal people in my life, but none as depraved as you’
She breaks out into an artificial smile ‘Thanks for the compliments’
‘Bhel-come’ he retorts
The bitter couple then recline on their pillows and try to catch a few winks of sleep.
Somewhere in the middle of the night, Sanchi is woken up by Indu’s loud snores. The disturbed girl sits up and watches the man slumbering next to her ‘Destroyed my sleep and yet, he’s peacefully resting…I’ll teach you lesson…’
Switching on her night lamp, she gets down and picks a book from her bag. Opening a thick book, she starts reading aloud from it. At first she reads it close to his ears and then returns to her pillow and studies noisily from her spot, once he’d woken up.
‘Are you mad or what?’ he questions her irately ‘Is this the way someone studies – that too in the middle of the night?’
‘Yes’ Sanchi responds mock-innocently. The weary man slaps his forehead in frustration. She continues ‘This is how I read everyday…nothing new…my life..my book…my room…my timetable… if you have a problem, why don’t you sleep some place else?’
He yells at her – asking her if she planned to graduate into a DM or a SSP overnight? She retaliates saying she was at least doing something with her life, unlike him who only whiled away time. The two then get into a plethora of tiffs – firstly, they bicker about who was more literate, then they argue about who was more humane, then if the lights stayed on or not! Lord!
Tarachand Mathur’s bedroom
Veena and Tarachand also seem to be having a sleepless night – wondering if Sanchi would be compelled to concede to the judge’s decision.
Surmising on everything else, Veena once again proposes that Sanchi should accept Indu as her husband – for her own benefit! Tarachand once again becomes livid. He blames his wife for visualizing Indu as her son-in-law!
‘Nothing of the sort will happen…’ Tarachand vows resolutely ‘Sanchi will never listen to the judge’s words and they will not stay together…my daughter is an intelligent girl and will come out of these troubles sooner than later…Indu and Sanchi will never have a relationship…ever’ Having warned his wife sternly, the father then orders her to get back to sleep.
Sanchi’s bedroom
Sanchi had probably been reading aloud for quite a while now – but to no avail. Seems like Indu had managed to fall asleep despite her harassment – or so she thought!
Shutting her book she decides to sleep too. Once she’d done so, the mischief-monger opens his eyes. Ringing the alarm clock right next to her ears, he purposefully wakes her up. She angrily queries him about what he was intending to do.
‘Precisely what you were doing so long’ he answers ‘I’m also going to study now and I’ll show you what I’m capable of becoming’
He gets off the bed and fetches a book titled ‘The ultimatum’. Offering the book one-too-many salutations, he starts reading the title as ‘Yooltimatum’
He starts reading it – loudly and in a pretty rustic-Indian dialect. Sanchi grits her teeth – she knew that even if he did hate opening books in the past, he’d read through all pages today, just to irk her.
He turns around to her ‘Did you say something…I was trying to concentrate!’
‘You’ll not let me sleep right, Indu Singh’ she asks him with an miffed grin
He thinks for a second ‘No’ he pauses ‘You did what you had to when you had the chance, now its mine!’
She gets off the bed indignantly ‘Fine…now nor am I going to sleep…nor am I going to let you to sleep’
Oops! Her words held a double meaning there!
Indu breaks out into a subtle blush as he begins teasing her. Shutting the book with his tell-tale salutations – he smiles at her ‘Wow! This is just what I wanted and you’ve said it too…’ he turns a shade pinker ‘I didn’t want to sleep… and didn’t want to let you sleep either…’ having enjoyed twisting her words, he suddenly straightens his act ‘I…I mean… throughout the night you should study and I study too’ he adds with a wry smile on his face ‘By the way, I’ve heard that by studying overnight…people become president of the university’
Tired, Sanchi nods her head in disgust
Pandey house
Roop wakes up and discovers her mother missing. She walks out of the bedroom and sees a shadow on the walls. The silly lady swiftly supposes that it must be a thief. Grabbing a log, she pursues the supposed-intruder. Once upstairs, she faces the persona and smacks it hard. Unfortunately Roop realizes soon after that she’d struck her own mother from behind.
The two ladies then have a jarring war or words!
Sanchi’s room
It’s morning – Sanchi is resting at her table and Indu in an awkward position on the bed. Basically, both of them hadn’t caught up on any sleep.
Watching his wife slumped on her chair, Indu taunts her ‘Found the treasure you were after? I’m sure you must have enjoyed disturbing my slumber..’
‘You were no less yourself…you also wanted to stay awake the entire night…’ she replies on a caustic note
Just then, a knock on the door alerts them. Indu indicates towards the door, asking her to open it. Sanchi does so
‘Ma…you?’
Veena walks in with a broad smile on her face ‘What happened? You look very tired…didn’t sleep through the night? What happened? Busy studying?’ (LOL)
Sanchi is embarassed, but stays quiet. A moment later, Indu calls out to his mother-in-law from the bed. Veena is shocked – even before she turns around. Facing Indu, she catches him darting her a cheeky grin.
Partly-blushing, partly-pleased; Indu speaks up ‘Sasuma, I’ll tell you…what’ll she say…’ he pauses ‘You see…throughout the night, she’s stayed awake…and become really tired now…she didn’t have a wink of sleep…well, how could she…’
The mother is left aghast! Sanchi despises the mind games Indu was playing with her mother, but doesn’t know what to do to put a stop to it.
Precap
‘You’ll fight with him no more’ Veena orders her daughter
‘Whatever you think ma, but I can’t stay quiet!’ she pauses ‘I share no relationship with him today…neither did yesterday…nor will tomorrow’
‘Even I don’t want to maintain relationships with him…’ Veena admits ‘But the truth is that some relations are made by fate… and the Indu Singh in your life today has also arrived owing to your fate’
