Tarachand is furious with the judge’s decision and publicly challenges her. However, the judge admonishes Tarachand for disturbing the peace in the courtroom. She then orders him to resume his seat, if he didn’t want to be arrested due to ‘contempt of the court’. Disappointed and brooding, the father does as told.
The judge then wishes the couple luck in their life together with a final message ‘Don’t hurt one another’s self-respect ever again!’
His hand wrapped around his wife’s shoulder, Indu proudly acknowledges the advice, as does Sanchi!
Elated with the turn of events, Veena innocently starts sharing her joy with her husband – delighted by the fulfilment of her heart’s desires and her prayers!
‘Let’s go to the temple first and avail the blessings of the Lord first!’ the happy mother tells him
However, Tarachand remains enraged and stubbornly refuses to come along. Disregarding his wife’s pleas, he gets up and begins walking out of the court by himself.
Indu swiftly indicates to Sanchi – guiding her to go along and placate her father.
Deciding to take matter into her own hands, Sanchi runs behind her father calling out to him, but he refuses to even glance in her direction. Summoning an autorickshaw the agonized father leaves the place.
OUTSIDE THE COURT
A few seconds later, the worried Sanchi is joined by Indu, Veena, Mehek and Manwa outside the court. While Veena wonders aloud as to how she’d pacify her husband’s temper, Sanchi states that her father’s blessings were crucial if the pair needed to start their life afresh.
Discerning the gravity of the situation, Indu then offers to approach his father-in-law in an attempt to reconcile with him, but Veena is not certain the idea was wise. The anxious mother then requests Indu and Sanchi to head to the temple – letting them know she’d somehow try and convince Tarachand to come along.
However, Sanchi does not agree. Feeling responsible for the entire scenario, she vows to convince her father and to personally ensure that he came to the temple!
‘What if he refuses to come?’ Veena enquires unhappily
‘He’ll come ma…we know him.. his temper is only short-lived…he believes in my happiness…he’ll come’
Saying so, Sanchi rushes away to catch another auto.
Soon after she leaves, Indu slips on his cooling glasses (his prior style back!) and he ushers his Sasuma and the rest to accompany him. While walking towards his jeep he makes a quick call to his trusted aides, asking them to meet him at the temple.
When his friends question the reason for the meeting, he lets out a hearty smile ‘For what? Well don’t you want to congratulate me? You reach the spot and I’ll wait for you there!’
The jeep then takes off with a very happy bunch of people in it!
The Tiwaris are left behind with little option but to silently watch the strange spectacle unfold in front of their eyes! Snubbing his usual taunts, Radha is about to make her own way from the spot, but Tiwari stops her.
‘Whether they invite me or not, I’m going ahead to give them my blessings…’ she says, before strutting off ‘I’m planning to stay with my nephew…so, you take care of your own living arrangements’
MATHURS’
Rushing home, Sanchi searches for her father but remains unable to locate him anywhere – be it the living room, bedrooms or kitchen. Finally, she runs to her room and finds the torn father sitting by himself there – gazing at her trophies. (Very realistic scene this – in the real world, no dad would want his daughter married to a gunda…Indu, looks like you’ll have to mend your ways for everyone’s sakes!)
THE TEMPLE
Guddu, Rajjo and Yogi restlessly wait near the gates of the temple. They’d already arranged a band, garlands and all the paraphernalia required to celebrate their ‘bhaiyyaji’s’ most important victory in life.
As soon as they spot the jeep, they instruct the band-men and the celebrations kick start in full fledge. While the spectacle is totally new for Veena or Mehek (LOL their expressions are watch-worthy!), the boys instantly get into their boisterous mode!
While the groom had barely managed to step out of the jeep, the gang swiftly garland him and carry him on their shoulders. After a short bout of revelry, they set the ecstatic Indu down – finally giving him a chance to speak
‘What’s this guys?’ he asks, the bliss he felt quite obvious ‘You’ve arranged for the band.. Baaja.. Baraat…Varmaala…flowers..everything!’
‘We received your call…’ Yogi begins explaining cheerfully ‘We couldn’t contain our excitement… so did what we thought we should…’
‘Your love has triumphed…’ Guddu adds ‘You now have bhabhiji by your side…so please let us do all this’
Not very successful at hiding the abashment in his coy smiles, an overwhelmed Indu gives in – beaming at their adorable antics. Only then do the silly boys realize that sanchi was actually missing and enquire about her whereabouts thereafter.
After calmly explaining the whole situation to them, Indu reveals his views ‘So, you guys go ahead and have fun.. but till Sanchi ji comes along…I’ll not join you in the merry-making…’ (awww how sweet!)
Watching all of it, Veena becomes increasingly worried by Sanchi’s absence!
MATHURS’ – SANCHI’S ROOM
Sitting by his feet, the daughter starts reasoning with her hurt father ‘I know you’re not happy with my decision, but I also know you trust my decisions always and that you want me to be happy…papa…without your blessings, this relationship cannot be complete…you’ve always stood by me…please trust this choice of mine too…this choice of mine is not wrong…’
‘IT IS WRONG’ Tarachand yells back, cutting her short ‘You are a topper and he, a person who’s constantly failed in his education…your cultures, your habits, your nature…nothing matches with his…he’s a ruffian… a good-for-nothing rowdy… forget about this relationship, I’ll not let him even come close to you…he’ll never be worthy of you – be it the past, present or the future…’
‘Even I used to think so…’ she chimes in gently ‘But only after staying with him for the past few days have I realized that he’s not as bad as we used to think of him..if you saw how he supported me during my bad-times, then you’ll know what I’m talking about…he was my support whenever I broke down…he risked his life to protect my honour…please believe me papa…he’s not the Indu singh we first came across…he’s changed now…’
TEMPLE
Radha and Tiwari also come to the temple (albeit in separate vehicles). Tiwari is still in the pleading-pleasing-Radha mode, while Radha is still in her own rebuking-spurning mode!
As the warring pair make their way to the temple, Tiwari continues promising his wife that he’d never cast a glance at any other woman in his life henceforth
‘Let’s see about that’ she retorts, gritting her teeth as they ascend the temple steps
MATHURS’ – SANCHI’S ROOM
By this point, Tarachand is still hardly persuaded. Nevertheless, Sanchi lovingly pursues with her justifications ‘You’re the one who taught me to listen to my heart…papa…your daughter has also listened to her heart and soul…as far as I know Indu Singh, I don’t foresee a man who’d ever love me as much as he does…he might appear ‘gruff’ in the eyes of the world, but I know that he has a golden heart…he can give me all happiness in this world’ she pauses ‘Please agree to this relationship for the sake of your daughter’s happiness…I love him too much to forgo his relationship…today you consider this marriage wrong, but tomorrow you’ll be proud of your daughter’s resolve…please papa’ she holds his hand, begging him with bedewed eyes
TEMPLE
When the Tiwaris reach the small wedding party, they’re greeted with the not-so-friendly glares of Indu and his gang. Pacing up to them, an irked Indu questions the intent behind their presence at the temple. Putting on an empathetic smile, Radha states that it was her duty to bless the couple and hence had come by even though uninvited. Tiwari is about to extend his hand and give his nephew a hug, but Indu shoos away the man’s gestures, letting him know he wanted no association with him.
‘I don’t want to lose my temper now or create a scene and upset everything here now… so please leave now’ he warns them
Tiwari tries appeasing the young man’s temper by bringing up their blood-relationship, but this only infuriates Indu all the more!
‘What blood relations?’ he shouts ‘You’ve always tried to separate Sanchi from me… you could never withstand watching me happy…and now you’re trying to undo your past crimes by talking of relations…I don’t want your blessings…please leave from here…’
Listening to the harsh reality, Radha starts shedding crocodile tears and wailing about her state. Needless to say, Tiwari too joins her in the act – all in an attempt to reconcile with Indu – after all, they needed a place to stay! (OH NO)
They then bring up the topic of his mother having handed over his responsibility to them and the sort. Obviously, all of this was bound to strike an emotional chord with the sensitive Indu, but he controls himself from caving in to their acts.
‘Fine…you are grown up now…you can lead your life without our blessings too’ they say as they begin making a departure from the scene.
Well…the ‘blessings’ word was bound to do the trick! As the vicious pair make their exit, Veena rushes to Indu and requests him not to turn the couple away. Apart from the fact that they were his own relatives, insulting elders during such an auspicious time was not wise.
Just as the desperate pair reach the temple gates – sincerely hoping their plan would’ve worked – they hear Indu’s voice calling out to them ‘Oh Tiwari ji…have you made up your mind that you’ll never give me your blessings till you’ve enacted an entire drama prior to it’
Standing at the edge of the steps, the dashing rogue continues in a nonchalant manner ‘Now stop the melodrama and give your nephew and his bride your blessings…if not, I’ll have to begin my drama and then you’ll remain incapable of carrying out any other drama in future!’
Unable to contain their happiness, the vile pair rush back to the temple and greet their nephew with wide smiles.
A short while later…
A short while later and everyone’s checking their watches. As Veena grows increasingly apprehensive, Indu tries the phone – but he was not able to get hold of Sanchi as the phone was switched off!
‘All I wanted was for you both to start life with the Lord’s blessings since you both have been through so much…’ Veena mumbles sadly ‘I wanted to thank God for stopping this marriage from breaking apart…but looks like its not bound to happen…I knew he wouldn’t give his nod to this relationship so easily, but Sanchi wouldn’t listen’
The disappointed mother then asks Indu to go ahead and offer the Prasad to the deity by himself as it was getting very late.
Though upset, Indu proceeds forth to do as his mother-in-law advices him. Turning around twice, he eagerly looks out for any signs of her arrival, but she was nowhere to be seen.
Dejected, the man then rings the temple bell!
Precap
A beaming Sanchi arrives at the temple, followed by a grim looking Tarachand
Indu is mighty pleased!
