Ridhiemaa Ttiwari enjoyed her ‘pregnancy’ in Manmarziyan

Pregnancy is a happy phase for women, despite the physical difficulties involved. But there is one woman who thoroughly enjoyed the process (without the labour!), albeit in reel life on the small screen.

Ridhiemaa Ttiwari will be seen as a seven-month pregnant lady on Star Plus’ next Manmarziyan (Swastik Productions). Interestingly, her character name is the same as her real name!

“I play the lead Radhika’s (Monica Sehgal) sister and since the name sounded similar, we thought of using my name for the character too. This is a very realistic and different show, and would have viewers hooked on to it. Although I don’t have a very long role, I enjoyed it.”

As for her ‘pregnancy’ arch on the show, Ridhiemaa said, “It was so funny as people around believed I was expecting in real. They would always put extra efforts to take care of me. In fact, some aunties even gave me tips on baby care,” laughed the girl.

“During the onscreen godh bharai ceremony, some neighbourhood people thought it was for real and gave their blessings to me. It was a really sweet and touching moment. Also, I got to eat a lot so it was super fun,” added the actress.

Manmarziyan also stars Aham Sharma, Kashmira Irani, and Shravan Reddy in the lead. It launches on 13 April, 2015.
