Ramayan 21st July 2013 Written Update

The episode again begins with the contemplation of Ram ,Lakshman ,Vibhishan ,Hanuman and the entire Vanar Sena sitting near the ocean thinking about ways to cross it. Vibhishan suggests to ask for the path from Samudra Deva(Ocean God).Everyone agrees to the suggestion discussing the positive aspects. However Lakshman is not at all satisfied or convinced by this.He argues and counter argues with Ram saying that its against their Kshatriya Dharm to ask for something.He suggests that lazy people resort to such methods so instead of asking they should directly attack the ocean God with their weapons because they will have to ultimately resort to this. So why do they need to waste time like this.

Lakshman suggests that Ram should use his bow and arrow. The ocean God will be terrified hearing the alarming sound of his Bow. Lakshman adds that inactive people call for help and mercy. Coward people rely on fate and prayers .Ram calms him saying that even in worst circumstances one should not forget humility. Also others suggests that since your ancestors of Ikshavaku Clan were the original ones who had brought the ocean on earth ,thus the ocean God will definitely help you.

Ram finally decides that he will pray till the ocean God gives him the way to cross the ocean sitting on a Kusha asan (A mat made from Kush fibres)

In Ashoka Vatika Sita looks at the in all directions waiting for Lord Ram .Trijata is curious at her behaviour and asks if anyone would come ?Sita answers that her husband will come to free her from Ravan .She looks worried that why is she not hearing any sounds of commotion. She believes that her husband must have crossed the seas. She is curious as to why not any rakshasi is coming with her husband’s news. Sita is frustrated with this endless wait but Trijata assures Sita not to lose hope and she will convey all the proceedings that are going in the palace through her trusted sources who sympathise with the plight of Sita but cannot meet her directly due to the fear of Lankesh.

In the Lanka palace ,Ravan laughs at the foolery of Ram and his Vanar Sena .They laugh at their inability to find out a solution to this crossing over .Someone from his courtiers wonders what if the entire Vanar Sena crosses over one by one like Hanuman did. Everyone mocks thinking about their failure to cross the sea and even if they can ,they will kill them one by one.

It’s night at Ashoka Vatika. Sita is depressed thinking about all the mockery at the palace conveyed to her by Trijata .She is worried about Ram and his helplessness. Trijata consoles her to keep up her faith alive in Ram. Sita says she is upset because Raghuvir must be upset thinking about her. She prays for forgiveness from Ram for losing hope and ascertains that she will be waiting for him .

The scene shifts back to the sea shore .Its early morning and Ram promises that he will come to free Sita very soon. There is lightening across the sky and with open arms,Ram prays to the ocean God to give them the way to cross the ocean. He announces that he will quit food and water to please the OCEAN God unless he listens to his prayers and grants him his wishes. Ram sits on a Kush Asan in dhyan mudra continuously praying. Lakshman is totally unconvinced. .Hanuman bows to him .The entire Army witness the scene in awe.

Back in Lanka Ravan laughs again on the news of Ram’s praying to the ocean God. He enjoys being sarcastic saying that living the life of a beggar ,Ram now resorting to begging. Indrajit and other’s join too.

Sita too gets this news but she declares to Trijata that those who mock the humility of Ram fail to understand that he is all powerful. If he wants he can control the whole sea but it’s his Maryada which makes him so humble.

Days and nights pass as Ram prays unmoved with great devotion and concentration to the ocvean God. Lakshman is highly irritated and angry as two days pass. Lakshman is furious on the fact that the ocean God has become totally deaf and has forgotten the favours done by the Ikshavaku Clan. After completion of three days ,when Ram does not get any response from the ocean God ,he becomes furious nad now warns the ocean God that the world will now see his fury as Ram.He begged ,he paryed ,he respected and still no response but now it’s time to teach the ocean God a lesson by drying it up till patal lok. Ram declares that till now he has paid his respect to Varun Devta by not drying it up but now he will not stop .The arrogance of the Ocean God needs to be grovelled to dust now. The whole universe shudders with his anger as Ram orders Lakshman to fetch his bows and arrows.He chants a mantra and uses his Brahmastra pointing it towards the ocean God.

In fear of his life,Ocean God emerges and begs for forgiveness saying that he was only following the orders of Ram as he cannot cross the barriers of the shore. Ocean God suggests that there is they have Nal and Neel who are the sons of Vishwakarma .Their ancestors had been once cursed for offending the rishis that whatever they will carve ,it will remain afloat.He further says that since you have Nal and Neel with Ram, this curse will be a blessing in disguise as they are crafted and skilled sculptors. He suggests creating a bridge with stones to cross over with Nal and Neel and ocean God himself will hold the bridge in his arms. Everyone is pleased. Ram asks why Nal and Neel had never mentioned this earlier. Nal and Neel reply that they had been tied by a vow to their parents.

Everyone seems pleased with the suggestion, Ram agrees and thanks him for the suggestion.But he si worried that since he had already chanted the Mantra for using Brahmastra it cannot be taken back. The ocean God suggests using the arrow at a place nearby captured by dacoits. Ram aims his arrow and strikes that place and alos blesses that the place will be blessed with medicinal plants for the benefit of mankind.

Ravan is shocked to hear the arrival of the ocean God himself

At the sea shore ,Ram declares Shiv is his lord and thus he will pray to Shiva to thank him. He instructs Sugriva to get some priests so that Lord Shiva’s shivalinga can be established here.Sugriva agrees and everyone gets to work.

In Ashoka Vatika ,Sita is excited to hear this breakthrough achievement of Ram. She is rejoicing in that moment and hopes for the victory of Ram and prays for his safe crossing of the sea. Trijata assures that since Sita are the epitome of truth because she is a true pativrata so her husband will definitely win.

On the sea shore, Ram creates a Shivalinga with sand along with priests who instructs him to bathe it with holy water. Rudhrabhishek is done with Cows milk, wreathing flowers, bilwa leaves ,dhatura on the Shivaling amidst the chanting of mantras

Everyone hail the glory of Ram. Hanuman engraves the name of Sri Ram with a chalk on a rock carved by Nal and Neel.The Shiv Puja continues and and slowly the whole army toils continuously to complete the bride by throwing the carved and etched rocks which float on the sea.

Time ticks on and by the time ,the Puja is over ,Lord Rama is informed that 100 yojan of the sea is now bound by the bridge.Ram seems pleased.

Precap : They show Angad challenging everyone in the palace of Lanka that if anyone is able to lift his feet from there ,his master Lord Ram will recede with his army accepting his defeat.Indrajeet tries hard but is unable to lift Angad’s feet
