Raj Singh is ‘thrilled to be part of the Rajshri family’ as he enters Pyaar Ka Dard Hai…

Raj Singh is excited to join the Rajshri Productions show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara on Star Plus. As he begins his shoot for the show today (29 April 2013), Raj gets into a conversation with us on his comeback to the small screen and future plans.

Says Raj, “I have never played an NRI guy in a television show and this really enticed me to take up this show. Of course, the biggest reason was to be part of the renowned Rajshri Productions. I have always heard that the moment you step into the set of any Rajshri show, the ambience in itself is different. And I am now experiencing the same; the amount of respect they give to everyone on the set is amazing. Also, the positive vibes on the set motivates you to give your best. I also heard that Soorajji (Barjatya) was very keen on selecting me for this role, after watching my look test for the role.”

Talking about his character in the show, Raj tells us, “I play the character of Manan, a UK returned professor who has come down to India to research on Indian culture. Manan and Kayra (Prinal Oberoi) have known each other before, and Kayra always wanted Manan to stay with them when he comes to India. So the moment Manan lands in India, he comes to Kayra’s mansion. At the moment, Kayra has a liking for the man. He will be shown to be an extremely positive character to begin with.”

Raj, like any other actor harbours the ambition of making it big in Bollywood. “I am waiting for the right script in movies. In fact, few things had worked out, but certain creative changes resulted in me opting out of the project. I want to have a character-driven role, a challenging role where I can prove my capabilities as an actor.”

For the uninitiated, Raj’s character in Pyaar Ka Dard will have a negative shade as the story progresses.
