Radhakrishna Datta to essay Maharaj Janak in Ramayan
We reported recently about Nikita Anand and Rucha Gujarathi essaying the roles of Sunaina (Sita’s mother) and Ahilya respectively in Zee TV’s Ramayan, produced by Moti Sagar Productions (earlier called Sagar Pictures).
We now hear that noted actor Radhakrishna Datta who essays the role of Brahma in Life OK’s Devon Ke Dev Mahadev has been roped in to play the role of Sita’s father, Maharaj Janak.
As per the last week’s episode, Maharaj Janak has sent an invitation to Rishi Vishwamitra to grace his daughter Sita’s Swayamvar. Maharaj Janak’s introductory scene will be aired this Sunday (16 September 2012). He will have scenes with Sita (Neha Sargam) and his wife Sunaina; Sita’s parents are restless and are waiting for the person who can lift the Dhanush and win over Sita. This is when Rishi Vishwamitra comes to Mithila along with Ram (Gagan Malik) and Lakshman (Neil Bhatt) to be part of the Swayamvar. When Janak Maharaj sees Ram, he wonders whether he will be the one who will show his prowess in lifting the Dhanush and become his son-in-law.
When contacted, Radhakrishna Datta confirmed the news to us saying, “Yes, I play the role of Janak Maharaj in Ramayan. It is very nice to be part of Moti Sagar Productions’ show, as they have been making mythologicals for a long time now. Janak is a very interesting character as you know, and my entry will air this weekend.”
Get ready to witness the Swayamvar of Sita in Zee TV’s Ramayan very soon.
