Punar Vivah 25th January 2013 Written Episode

Scene 1:
Location: Yash’s house
As the inspector leaves, arti asks dubeyji to be strong for them only. Buaji comes in saying that this is the reason that they have come to this big house and if they rae comfortable in this big house. Shobha retorts saying that happiness isnt bothered by the size of this house. yash takes the dubeys and arti to his home. After they leave, buaji reprimands akash for standing there, and asks him to go take care of the expensive cars with great caution without causing a scratch.

Akash, sneaks into a room and goes to ansh, who is scared to see him. akash gives him jalebis but he refuses saying that he wants to go to his parents. akash asks him to have breakfast and gives him toys too to play along with and not cry, since he cant see that. Ansh still says that he wants to go to yash and arti. akash gives him a rubik’s cube saying that the minute he solves it, he would be taken to his parents. Ansh makes him promise it and gets into solving the puzzle.
picture2

Downstairs, everyone is having breakfast, but gayatri refuses to eat. Pari advises saying that she shouldnt harm herself, due to arti’s plight and giving arti’s example that she too is coping with ansh’s loss and that gayatri should take a lesson from her. Prateik too says that they should be with arti right now. pankaj asks him to stop talking and eat. But prateik still argues that relations dont break by meer saying. Pankaj says that its true that arti is in great trouble, but they shouldnt forget what she did with them by lying and that she’s responsible for what happened to ansh. Pari says that she doesnt think that arti is wrong here, and that she hasnt distanced yash from his family, rather its yash’s good will that he stands by his wife in such difficult times. Their conversation is interrupted by suraj coming on the breakfast table. As he is about to sit, he gets a call. Suraj tells somebody on the phone, that he should do the work at the exact time, when yash leaves for the house. Meanwhile, akash, saying yes to someone on the phone, leaves a cd in the drive way, and yash going out of the house, sees the cd and is puzzled. He ha a notion that it might contain info about ansh. Akash sees this and says to the recipient on the phone that yash has found the cd.

Yash rushes to his room and immediately gets on to play the cd on his laptop. The cd has a video of ansh sleeping on a rug. The whole family is emotional to see this. A voice comes saying that ansh is alright and being taken care of nicely. But that they have to give him something in return for ansh, and they dont want money, but that which is most precious to yash. What they hear next, enrages everybody in the family as to who could be behind this absurd joke. yash says that he knows who’s behind this and takes arti along with him and barges into suraj’s house and reprimands him saying that what he wants would never happen. He says that suraj wants to take away arti from yash, and even wanted ansh’s custody to be snatched from arti and when he didnt succeed in that, he got ansh kidnapped too. He says that he never thought his dad could stoop so low. Pankaj says that has he forgotten who is he talking to. Yash says that when elders dont act mature, young ones have to raise their voice. When gayatri asks what is he talking about, yash says that the kidnapper didnt show his face but told them that the condition to give ansh back to him is that he would have to leave arti and marry someone of suraj’s choice. When gayatri comments on the absurdity of it, yash says that suraj might try anything but he would never succumb to anyone’s condition and that he would never leave arti. As for ansh, he says that he doesnt want anyone’s help in finding ansh. Saying so, he leaves with arti while gayatri ponders on what just happened. Suraj continues eating with his brain processing things.

In the night, arti and yash are very upset and sad, staying awake. Arti is apalled to see yash like this. She comes to yash, feels their child in the belly, and starts talking to it, saying that he should tell his father to relax as he doesnt listen to her, and asks him to tell yash that he shouldnt be sad for if he is, then who would support them. Yash comes and says that he’s sorry and that he shouldnt be weak like this, but apologizes that he’s not strong like arti. Arti says that when their child feels scared, he hugs arti tight and the fear goes away, indirecting telling yash to do the same. Yash gets into her arms and arti comfortingly pats him. arti says that as long as they are with each other, they arent alone and would defeat any problem that coms their way. seeing arti hiccupping, he asks arti to sit down while he goes to get water for her. as he leaves, she thinks that she’s getting hiccups since ansh is remembering him.
picture8

Ansh is busy solving the rubik’s cube in the hope that it would get him closer to his mother.

As yash is walking out getting water for arti from the kitchen, he sees suraj in His room taking something out from the almirah, which looks like kid’s clothes. yash wonders where is he going with ansh’s clothes and concludes that suraj jas in fact, hidden ansh somewhere and is going to give ansh’s necessary belongings. Yash, watches suraj going out of the house and handing somone a bag and ansh’s clothes. The screen freezes on his shocked face.

Precap: Yash is shown inviting people for the SA RE GA MA PA finals, where honey singh is also coming, on the 27th of jan at 9’o’clock in the night.

    Suni…..Sj……Good morning friends……♡♡♡♡♡♥♡♡♡♡♥♥♥♡♡♡♡♥♡♡♡♡♡
Sorry….sorry….sorry….for not aware of the knocking sound yaar…..
I felt disconnected with pv but not with you my dears….tonight one guest is leaving (Singapore) and the other one leaving on 30th. I had read your comments whenever I found time & thought you guys also busy. Now I feel very guilty for not responding at the week end especially Sunday. Please forgive me yaar….

    • Suni
      January 28, 05:34

Oh Afreesh , you should feel guilty yaar … We are not going to let you off so easily 🙁 . ….You made me wait to long to say this to you
Teri furqat ne pareeshan kiya hai mujhko 🙁 🙁 🙁
But , I forgive you , because I am so happy to hear from you . No disrespect , but me and SJ , would have made plans to get those guests out . I have looked at PV long enough to have good plans for kidnapping yaar 🙂 . You were greatly missed .

    • Afreesh
      January 28, 06:56

Lol …Suni withdraw that kidnap idea yaar…I don’t allow my friends to do such criminal attitudes….so, I decided to escape from them right now. Most of the time I was out & busy on purchasing but always thinking about you guys & wanted to call you by phone ….but how????…. I sensed your loneliness at Sunday….I think the other days you too were having tight schedule right??…
I was just wondering apart from us there are somany loyal fans are awaiting for the improvement of pv track….but no hopes yaar…

    • Afreesh
      January 28, 07:58

Suni…..no matter whether the writer’s mind work on that abstract details or not but your genius mind is always working on their plot brilliantly yaar….you know what I felt when there was a clash between Yash & Akash….these two are symmetrical in shape but created from different sources…..Yash was straight & Akash was back to our focus. That is Akash is the Xerox of yash but created from the opposite direction of yash’s path.
Suni….your button concept varies slightly from mine yaar….Akash is the button who is going to connect Arya with their family, Infact Arya is going approach that lost button (Akash) by themselves that is what indicated on capturing that removed button.
Yes…the authority (pankaj) didn’t like his presence & doesn’t want him to enter into their nest. The guard who tried to stop him was the society not papa S.
See….finally you took me into your net…..I don’t know the writer’s motive is the same or not

Yea well it depends, Dow the Guaya road after BP is usually quiet, but getting a place we are comfortable with is a bit challenging. But getting back hom on carnival Tuesday is near impossible, have to get passes and all that. Might not need to but still the drama on the road. It’s work and school the next day and usual so got to get home Tuesday for sure.
And even though the law is no drinking and driving we still have the odd idiot drunk drivers on the road.

Yeah I actually now listened to ramnarine’s entire tune, really stale I must say. Well the Internet say is “cow” hahaha donno what true now, oh lard put ah Han
And what’s this thing everybody does now, “put yuh hand in the air” that so stale it not funny.
Well Mayaro you say, our regular place says its rel bacchanal during carnival time there. So planning to go the following weekend. Will spend my time at home because traveling the streets during carnival time not safe.
Went to Tobago one year, beaches really the best that time of year, but those revellers this time of year Trinidad or Tobago they not easy.
Might take a walk out on Tuesday afternoon to see some of the costumes or not. Don’t really like the loud banging music trucks. My ears hurt.

    • Suni
      January 27, 18:46

There is a residential area in Mayaro , where you would never know that it is Carnival time . The place is very quiet except for the others who also rent beach houses . I will double check the” cow ” but I hope that it is crowd , lol . Bunji lyrics not bad , no wine and jam and put yuh hand in the air , but original . I am sorry that he isn’t entering the Soca finals this year .

    • Suni
      January 27, 19:01

Trinidadians real mad yes ! There is a spoof video by someone named. ” cane sugar ” that shows cows dancing to Bunji’s song , lol . Look for it . The words are , ” look how the crowd now waking up ” .

    January 27, 18:06 Reply

    Well dinner was good hahaha
Yes Bunji’s Sony is really good. But what does “the cow now waking up” have to do with anything. I thought it was “the crowd” but is “the cow” oh boy. Yuh Neva no nah.
I also liked Raymond Ramnarine’s chutney soca winning tune.
He came to make a difference and did so top class.
All these nonsensical ones they had before all the same thing, drinking rum, etc. that’s not wat our culture is all about. And they give the Indian people from Trinidad a bad name.
You know a lot of non Hindus think Indian or Hindu culture is all about drinking rum, liming, man beating the wife and all the bad things portrayed by these so called artiste.
Well, you’ve put it better than I did, India is really vast with varied cultural background and religious beliefs and ways to practice devotion etc.
I’ve been to a very remote village and I could tell you wit just a few instruments and one person signing they really do sound like an entire orchestra playing and one or two drums like tassa.
I was lucky to be there during Divali, christmas and New Years (cold like hell I tell you) but enjoyed tremendously. Looking forward to going for holi next.
Or don’t wear for carnival lol. Do you go on the street for carnival?
But I see that trend in the Bollywood movies. Te clothes getting skimpier and skimpier and totally western, one wonders whether is an Indian movie or western. I even heard some teenagers wondering about jab tak hai Jaan and contemplating whether they should go see or not hehehe poor kids so confused.
Wow that was a big crowd in skinner park last night.

    • Suni
      January 27, 18:09

Crowd girl , not cow 🙂 . He has a few other good ones also , like Savage and None Like This .

    • Suni
      January 27, 18:16

I didn’t like Raymond’s tired lyrics , sorry 🙁 . I fed up hear them bad talking women . I wanted Kenneth to win . He was funny . Jai. sounded like he recycled Ravi B tune from a few years back . I don’t understand how he place second . I didn’t like how stinky placed last .
Not me and that Carnival thing , looking forward to relaxing home or sometimes we go Mayaro . One year madness take we and we went Maracas on Tuesday . It was real stress to come back home . The beach was quiet though .

    • Suni
      January 27, 18:20

Yeah , the west has its influence everywhere . India sounds great from our experience . I hope to go one day . You are very lucky to have gone .

    January 27, 17:09 Reply

South the best place for doubles, yes!!!,
Well I guess we created our own culture here away from our mother land due to lack of communication in the olden days and held on the the little that was brought.
But what I’ve noticed lately is that some of us try to copy the culture we see on see TV serials. Whic is not always the way it’s meant to be.
You know the Indian high commissioner recently made a statement thereby enraging a wide sector of the Hindu community. Well what he said is partly true, I think he clarified what he said in the newspaper.
But I’ve been to India and really, we do do things contrary to Indian ways. Well I don’t know for all of India but can speak of vrindavan and a few other places.
But we are not to be blamed solely because these serials also portray things contrary to their culture especially where the spiritual aspect is concerned and we here, tend to follow suit. You know they say Trinidadian is follow fashion, hehehehehe.
So he should also direct that statement to some of the happenings of India today.
Today I’ve met a woman who migrated from Bombay India with her husband and kids. Looking forward to having some chat time with her as well, to get to know their culture etc. but she said in Bombay no one dresses in Indian wear. Only maybe for festivals or Mandir weddings. Just like us here.she says, we here dress more Indian than Indians in Bombay.
    Donno, just sharing
Dinner time could smell the garlic bread mmmmm

    • Suni
      January 27, 17:25

Yes , I know what you mean . I have never been there but I have heard sorties from friends . But india is vast . I love the culture there though ,as it appears to us from outside …. Great music and dance and fashion and actors . Every country has its own complications , but where we are , we really should have none . We are so blessed ,and we take things for granted . Bunji Garlin has some great lyrics this year .

    • Suni
      January 27, 17:29

Oh , Miss Kris , better they wear the Indian wear than what some of them wear for Carnival . They don’t respect themselves , but want the men to respect them . Enjoy your dinner .

Hi everyone, Suni and ors, wow too many names and comments since I last came on.
It’s like reading a novel hehe, haven’t read any Ina while.

I did enjoy reading all comments, some was done while I was still asleep, lol.

Hi Suni, did get my doubles, for lunch, where do you get yours? Love a good one lol
Had a picnic by the sea overlooking the Gulf Of Paria yesterday, beautiful sunset.
Had to go Mandir this morning and run some errands.
Finally getting some me time sitting for the day. Wow busy busy
Well see you guys have been busy with the comments. Well said.
Well my sis don’t own a computer and is not really into getting one, Internet etc. she says she’s too old for that now, leave it for us kids.
But I do get an earful every weekend about PV. Will right some of her input soon.
Shla, very good with your story, I enjoyed reading, right now I’m too tired to add anything maybe tomorrow.
Ok and your comment regarding rights
Omg had to pause and leave for a while, big drama outside my house with neighbors fighting and cutlass and all. Live and direct, not need for drama and violence on TV. Hahah ohhh ok
So custody and access of a child, according the law in our country, every parent have rights of access to their child. With custody, usually the mother gets custody with visitation by the father. Only in extreme sensitive and rare cases the father is given custody. Saw it happen where the mother was on drugs and the court ordered police to take the children out of the others care.
Some times joint custody is granted if both parties are civil and agree to it
Then again, where the fathers are given a raw deal and they pay huge maintenance and have limited visitation.
Sometimes it all depends on the circumstances under which the parents are separated. Sometimes one parent may be abusive, where the child is taken away and give to the other for sole custody with limited visitation by the other, no overnight visits.
In a normal custody case, mother gets custody, with the father getting alternate weekends and half school vacation.
Some fathers get shafted by some of these female magistrates when the wife is trying to be vindictive against him and use the child or children to get at him by making rediculous accusations against them and very often the fathers are put out of the house and has a very hard time getting access to the child. Sometimes very limited when they do get it after not seeing their kid for months.
Sad isn’t it. I’ve tried talking to some of the family court judges and magistrate, but only about 2 or 3 out of many gives a fair hearing to these cases. Really sad. I know of so any fathers getting a raw deal when it comes to their kids. And to top it off they have to pay huge amounts of maintenance to the x wife even though she’s got another partner or working for more than the dad.
It’s really weird, some of the cases I’ve read.
Once a mother left her new born son and a one year old daughter and went to the USA. She came back about 5 years after, the kids did not even know her and the judge gave her custody of the kids to take to the us citing that they will have a better future there. How horrible, the father was totally distraught. In this case the father was working for a ton load of money, he being an engineer for a leading well known oil company and could afford to take them to the moon. Not investigation was done on the mothers new American husband with tatto all over his body and piercings in places ugggg, and a long pony tail.
What happend then, the father went downhill and haven’t heard from him in years.
So in the case of Prashant wanting custody of Ansh , it could have gone any which way. It’s a scary thing because you do not know the mind set of the judge, what’s his mood like on that day what thwarted mind he might have, and a sad sub story like what Prashant did.
But the bears and the room was unprecented and worked in Yash and Arti s favour.
There’s also a case where the father’s father and hima nd his bros are prominent lawyers and the poor wife became the victim of power and who know who etc. lost custody of two kids and no property during property settlement and ameger sum in maintenance.
So people the justice system is blind and twisted unless you really get one of the very few judges who actually uses their common sense and deal truthfully with the facts.
A good lawyer can get you everything and nothing too, like Prashant. All of pa scindia’s money could not let Prashant win but Yash fatherly love and compassion won over everything
So glad it turned out so.
But alas, poor Ansh, how can someone torture a tiny little child for their selfish ego? Even Payal a Palak are affectd because children feel what their parents are feeling, when they are happy or sad. I know know I have kids and when things affect us I know it affect the kids as well.
Well had to take a break in between to help with dinner. So much for my “me” time.
Hope you folks had a wonderful weekend and let’s see what happens tomorrow.
In Trinidad our tonight well see the on from Fridays update so we get the update before the show is actually shown.
And what is it with parents, after their children is married and comfortable with their hubby, why want to change that and separate them for their ego, I have seen this happening here with some of our old folks. The son married, they don’t like the daughter in law and always trying to put spokes in the relationship.
These young people have to live their lives forever after the old folks have left. Don’t understand their logic.
And these old people think they are dharm incarnat and never did anything wrong. My foot. They have outside children, some of these ladies with others husband etc, when you hear their stories from others, and they like to condemn us and if we talk to a boy, god is big trouble the whole village know and your mother know before you reach home.
Papa Scindia is not a saint either.
Omg I’ve written so much. Well until, keep up the good work, keep the comments coming and your version of haw the story shoud go. Very interesting indeed to read. I look forward to some good reading from you all.
    Have a good week folks.

Hi Miss Kris , you know how they say that ” yuh eh talk , yuh preach ! ” All that you have said is very true, but so sad , with regards to our culture . There really is very little accountability for the actions of those in authority . I feel that in India though , they are not faced with all our western woes . They seem to hold on more to family and respect the traditional ways to a greater extent . We uphold so many customs , but but we lost some along the way . Our people are unique and talented , but we should continue to hope and to try to change a lot that exists within the society, so as to make our land even better . You know how they say , be the change that you want to see in the world .
Best doubles in deep South girl , lol .

No , but we are close . We belong to the West Indies . Do you look at cricket and have you heard of Brian Lara ? This is how Afreesh understood where I am from . Brian Lara is from Trinidad . Well , our population contains people of mainly 2.major but also a few other races . Some people came here from India and some from Africa , but quite a long time ago .
Wow , you guys are smart , so many doctors . Well done !

Apple , you are so strong to be so positive despite what you have endured . I try to never complain but to appreciate my blessings and I thank God for helping me to continue to move forward , for guiding me towards being uplifted instead of being suppressed . You guys on this forum give me inspiration to accomplish the things that I have set out to do . I always say that , despite the plot , we are friends here .
I will tell you the best advice that Afreesh gave me …smile when you feel like it and cry when you feel too . We must understand our emotions and never seek to lock them away . There is so much sadness in this world , I am so sorry to hear about your loss . The light within you , your divinity , shines through your words so brightly , that I fell that your dad is proud of you from wherever his soul rests . I am blessed to know you and the others here .

      January 27, 07:43

Sophia , you have echoed my sentiments exactly with your words . I also wondered what was lacking in Prashant’s upbringing . Now we may never know this from the show . Shobha seemed like a misfit , not because she is wrong , but because she seemed to be too strong a personality and too good a woman to have a son like Prashant . I did not like that the writers made her character treat her son as a curse in her life . If Prashant was a curse , she helped to mould him . I remember the analogy that you and Prsv had used about the young tree in need of care when it is young and soft, as it will be difficult to straighten it when it becomes hard .

The writers may throw me off with regards to their storyline from time to time , but the brilliant way they do certain things , equally amazes me . I loved the dramatic and symbolic entry of Akash . Of all the new characters to grace this show with their presence , this one holds my interest the most . Here is the outside child coming to assume his rights through whatever means that he can . He represents not only what is considered taboo, but also highlights the hypocrisy of those who say one thing and practices another . Papa S , just like society , chooses to accept only what is necessary for his benefit and to maintain archaic principles for no valid reason . He sees and treats this son as a servant , his own flesh and blood has no rights . But why ? Because he was born under non ideal circumstances ? Who crated those circumstances ? And why is the child the one to face the consequence of illegitimacy and not the father to face rebuke ?
When Akash entered , he immediately and assuredly removed the authority figure in charge of guarding the Schindia mansion and its wealth . The guard ,in my opinion , represents Papa S , who has no real weight in terms of moral judgement , but is in a position if rank within society , nonetheless . Akash assumed equality with Papa S when he sat on his chair and showed no remorse , asked for no forgiveness for his presence there . His name means Sky , which either suggests that such situations are common throughout the world , as the sky is everywhere , or that his ambitions are very high as it relates to Schindia house .
He was challenged by the eldest son , Pankraj . There will be some sort of upheaval within the Schindia hierarchy . Pankraj , who almost always agrees with his father , will be challenged to see Papa S through different eyes . Papa S treats Akash as a servant , he expects to be obeyed, but , such a position should be maintained through commanded not demanded respect . He should be an example instead of being a hypocrite . The foundation of his stance is flawed and Akash is there now to highlight and augment the cracks .
On his way out , Akash moved towards Yash in a backward position . Approaching in an awkward way . Yash could not immediately , and in fact barely saw his identity . This represents that Akash will not immediately be seen for what and who he is. When he bumped into Yash , it was Akash who was more greatly affected . Yash barely moved . Yash is not Papa S’s servant , he has no designs for wealth and he upholds truth and fair practices, he is a great and loving , kind and caring , honest father and husband , he represents all things good that men can be , if they choose to be .His stance and foundation cannot be removed . But it will also be challenged .
Yash and Aarti are in possession of Akash’s button .. Buttons are used to hold things together , without these simple ,easily overlooked and taken for granted buttons , to sides cannot unite . The button introduces a different concept to PV , just as the 3 pin plug introduced the issue of the plot with the three characters Prashant , Aarti and Yash .
Yash and Aarti are just like that button . They will be very instrumental in holding things together as they begin to fall apart at the Schindia mansion . Akash having been the source from where that button originated ,will play a big role in attempting to destabilise the Schindia family . He however , cannot see a child cry , maybe he himself knows what it is to cry . The story looks interesting very interesting ahead .

    • shla
      January 27, 12:59

Your imagination of button being a critical piece and holding some symbolism of upcoming episode is very interesting.

The way you linked Akash being the source of conflict (button) and then Yash & Aarti holding the family through the family crisis (as button which holds together) makes very good sense.

      Thank you Shla .

      January 27, 13:29

One more thing. It was interesting how you mentioned initial meeting between Yash and Akash. Akash moved in backward position and Yash was moving ahead indicating Yash is coming from non-righteous side and Yash from righteous side. Also after the bump, Yash stood his ground and Akash was moved greatly and raised his hand which you suggested that Yash did not change (still maintains having no designs for grabing wealth, upholds truth and fair practices) and probably came around and changed his thinking? That is pretty good analogy Suni and is just brilliant.

    • Suni
      January 27, 13:46

Shla , I agree with you , Akash is coming from the non righteous side as he is going backwards .you have stated it well . Forgive me Shla , I have gotten so used to us disagreeing ,but never arguing 🙂 , that I am affected greatly by your praise .

    • Suni
      January 27, 14:04

It makes even more sense when we think about it further Shla . Akash was going the ” wrong way ” before he faced Yash . I dare to hope that Yash may change this character for the better , but I will have to wait and see .

Suni, Reading from previous comments here and earlier episodes, you were little upset about the way Prashant’s character was ended. I agree that they would have handled it little differently in term of his death (may be he would have died because of cancer) but I am of the opinion that it was good that his character was ended. Am i correct in interpretation?

The reason was that he had a made choice in his life and walked further along that line. I was happy that he came and helped Aarti at Lalitpur, but I was not ready for him to retrace back and have relation with Aarti. Becoz, lot has happened with Aarti’s life and you cannot just change it and then Aarti did find a true husband and Prashant was definitely was not.

I was very upset that he moved into the Bhopal, forget about even Dubey’s house. So I kinda was happy to see Prashant was out of the picture from Aarti and Yash’s life.

    • Suni
      January 26, 21:55

Shla , I always have to try to figure out the writers pov . I can understand there stance as it related to Prashant , was that the outdated dogma that he represented , had to end . The fact that he was convinced to get back a wife and child that he had abandoned , proved his moral dilemmas and disregard for the feelings of others . He couldn’t have his cake and eat it too . He went against his mother and was consumed by revenge when he couldn’t achieve his ambitions .
However , most times in actual divorce matters, it is not often that the ex spouse will die and leave a perfect life for their former wife . Many times there are custody disputes that result in shared custody of the child or children . Other children are born , as is the case of Ayu , After remarriage and half brothers and sisters are incorporated into the family .
What if Prashant had also remarried and had shared custody of Ansh ? How would Yash have felt about sharing Ansh’s affection ? How would Prashant’s new wife treat Ansh ? How would Ansh feel about having to be shared ? Such a reality exists for many children . I was very much interested in how the matters that emanate from divorce can be handled . Killing Prashant was an easy way out . If he had changed completely and had genuine regrets , still he would have NO reason to want Aarti back . But , he would have had all rights to see his son , as long as he was genuine . It isn’t fair to disregard fathers completely , and sometimes people do actually have sincere regrets .

    • shla
      January 26, 22:37

I can see your point on father rights issue and that you would have liked PV team to explore the issue of the custody post divorce.

The issue was slightly different here and that probably could not be explored given how serial started.
      1) During the divorce Aarti’s new life began after Prashant explicitly declaring that he does not want any future in the world you are envisioning of divorced parents. He said he does not Ansh and Aarti. simple: No Aarti that meant divorce and no Ansh meant no child custody rights. In the world you are envisioning father is a willing father who wants part of child’s welfare. It was not the case. So I have different take from you on parshant having any rights here.

      2) Prashant had already chosen a different path and he has moved on also and he came back only when he saw the grass is not greener on other side. 2 mistakes so far, 1) leaving Aarti & Ansh and 2) Even 2nd time he is not ready for married life. Now the question is should you forget everything happened in 5 years as a just bad dream? You can’t as life has to move on. You may see me as being harsh on Prashant but tough luck and I would say Prashant’s punishment is not let to come back to what he left and let him find new life for the agony and painful future he left for Aarti.

      3) Finally the very fact that he got bored with Aarti and choose to move with other woman when Aarti was pregnant was indication to me that he has less interest in family & his kids then as Miss Kris or somebody said earlier pointed as lust and trophies. He has proven twice that marriage and family is not for him. So you may argue he has grown up and realized his mistake then my argument would be that great then start FRESH (highlighting my point here) and do the right thing as responsible man.

So I don’t think the world of father with custody issue that you think could have applied here. In the scenario you described I am sure there many successful and unsuccessful scenario’s would have been created by writers. I am sure many of us have seen and have lived through thus scenarios.

    • Suni
      January 26, 22:59

Shla , I fully understand your points . But , I don’t think that you should rely on points from PV to support what you say . The writers almost changed Prashant completely . Aarti wasn’t threatened by him in relation to Ansh , she wasn’t threatened by his presence in the front seat . He was good for a while in Yash’s eyes , even displayed genuine love to Ansh . The writers motive was simply to string us along . Go full speed ahead in one direction then pull you in another
Prashant’s character represented great duality and comprised both extreme bad and surprising kindness at times . The plot could have gone either way , given the writers approach . They just chose to destroy , rather than save his character . I would have preferred him to remain changed and be an example to other like minded men , that there can be peace after divorce .You prefer the writers way . I understand your opinion , but I also have my own .

    • shla
      January 27, 00:26

I can accept your arguments and will concede that there are two outcomes. For like-minded person like Prashant one outcome is if the person changes there may be better output and possibilities of the peaceful existence. Other outcome is if decision is not carefully thought through then the consequences could be that the person may not like and may be horrific like what happened in the serial.

My agreement with writer on second outcome is to remind the person who are in similar situation that the person has to come to the decision after careful deliberations and make sure that he/she may have to live through and can accept the consequences. Because in our societies, it is not the person(and wife/husband as the case may be and kids also) who will be affected by this decision but entire two families. Remember marriages in our societies are mostly believed to be in between two families and not just between a man and a woman so divorce is also extended to divorce between two extended families that have come closer together during marriage.

Sorry if I have tried to engage you if you want to move on topic, but in closing I want to suggest that the situation of peaceful existence is easier in western societies but much difficult in our societies after post divorce. And you want to explore those difficult issues with a twist of Dubey’s mistake would have been too much for me. May be I would have accepted the experimentation if marriage was not complicated by Dubey’s mistake.

    • Suni
      January 27, 05:38

Shla , where I come from marriage can occur in both the traditional and non traditional ways . It can , and usually is a grand affair with the same coming together of families that you speak about . Our unique history has ensured that although we were removed from India , more than a century ago , we still practice and uphold much of the same culture .
I don’t think it correct , for any one , anywhere in the world , to hold hope for the same outcome for their ex , as what was meted out to Prashant . That would bring greater complication to real life than my approach .
We have to face such problems with strength and courage , and think about peaceful solutions . If the ex is bad , get a restraining order , keep him away with he law , not death . Some attention should be given to why is divorce more common now , than ever before ? What is making marriages fail ? Maybe more guidance is needed from elders . Maybe better examples have to be set for children . Abuse should not be tolerated within a marriage , but what is making people so abusive ? I always feel that almost every child passes through the school system and still each learn different things . What and how they learn is dependant upon their upbringing , their home and society . If we see failures within society , it is only because they originated from some sauce and did not materialise themselves without reason .
That is why I previously stated that I understand the writers position as it relates to the death of an idea and not the death of an actual person .
The fact that the writers have chosen this PV concept as the premise for their show , suggests that this is now a relatable concept within the society . It can no longer be denied . They chose for themselves a situation that avoided the coming together of two families , as you mentioned , since Aarti is an orphan . If she had strong family support on her side , maybe the divorce could have been averted ,as Prashant would have had other authority figures to chastise him .

    • Suni
