Punar Vivah 2 28th May 2013 Written Episode
Scene 1:
Location: Jagotia’s residence
The girls are ogling about their beauty and wish to learn some fashion tips from choti bahu, if possible. They are all discussing the arrival of Ayodhya wali Relative. Granny thinks that sarita would be in hell now, with four people concocting against her, They all aski sarita to be quietly sitting down, as her work would set off the relative as it is. Sarita too angrily sits down and ask them to work now. Granny laughs at the befitting reply. She calls sarita near to her. Sohan’s wife is very angry at the way granny is loving sarita and keeps mumbling.
When the relative arrives, she happily meets sarita, and compliments on her beauty, at the displeasure of sohan’s wife and daughters. She sees granny and goes on to take her blessing, while granny mumbles that this is just a girl who is sweet on face, and evil behind. At the dining table, she gives everyone gifts, and then looking at sarita, she calls out to her, and gives her a gift too, Real Resham Saree. She tells sarita to get the kids too. all are surprised. She assumes that its been 10 years, therefire she must have had 2 kids now, a son aged 10 years, and a girl around 6. All stand silently. Finally sohan’s wife taunts sarita, that she hasnt sired a child yet. The relative from USA is shocked to see this, and takes away her gift, asking her if there’s someproblem, and taunts her if she’s taking some meds to maintain her figure, or having her periods properly. She asks sarita if she really isnt impotant. The other girls too continue to taunt her. Granny thinks how can a lady talk so cheap of another lady. Aunt says that the woman who cant sire a child should be thrown out of the house, as such a girl is worse than the servant in the house, and a handsome boy like Raj should be remarried again. Sarita finds raj having come in and being a silent spectator in all this. She goes to Raj and asks him to reply, as his aunt is taunting her so badly, and he’s staying silent. She demands an explanation from him, as standing stoical wont let him escape this situation.
Scene 2:
Location: Divya’s residence and Raj’s shop
As divya wakes up to get her coffee from her sisters, her hands falls on raj’s diary. Seeing the address, of LAXMI RADDI BHANDAR, divya’s relatives are amused, that now they can get rid of their raddi, to this person only. Divya saves the given number, oblivious that its Raj that she would be calling. The sisters leave for making breakfast.
Divya’s family are discussing about pending marriage proposals. Divya says that she had bothered them too much, as Raj has moved on, and there’s no point looking back, and therefore she would marry the person who they choose for her. The relatives say that they would choose together, amongst the barrage of people who are interested in her. they start looking at faces. One photo is lying with its face upside down. She picks up the photo thinking that she would marry that person. She turns it around to find that its Gaurav, who collided at the station. They all think that its a karmic connection. divya says that there might be a connection between her and the raddi wala. The relatives cringe at her thinking of marrying the raddi wala. But Divya asks them to always think about everyone as equal as they too are people who love and have the same heart which beats for their loved ones. Her brother decides to take it further with Gaurav’s family.
Scene 3:
Location: jagotia’s mansion
Raj goes inside the room, and sarita follows. Sarita takes raj by the collar of his shirt, and asks him to clarify to everyone as to why there has been no child playing in this house, and if he ever considered her as his wife, or ever did what was needful of him as a husband. All are shocked seeing her so fired up, when she screams that she isnt infertile. She asks him to tell Raj that if it was for her, she would have given a baby by now. she says that she has suffered enough and for what, to listen to everyone’s taunts. She collapses on the floor, in tears.
Raj reprimands his mother, for creating a drama everyday, as she knows that only he is to blame for what has happened, as he couldnt make himself emotioanlly capable to be with someone, and not sarita as she’s been a dutiful wife all these years, and has no problem. Raj also reprimands his aunt for claiming to have come from America, and talking about remarriage for his benefit, and if she is so concerned, then she should think about getting Sarita remarried to a guy who would respect her, and treat her as a wife, and give her the love and right that a wife demands. They are shocked to hear this. Raj says that he married under paternal pressure and threats, and hence sarita isnt to be blamed. He says that its his fault and not sarita’s. She is shocked at such outburst. raj leaves.
The aunt says that raj has gone mad, and asks if he still hasnt forgoten his first love. Sohan’s wife again goes on to taunt sarita for not having been able to please her husband and make him forget his first love, as such beauty is of no use then. The elder daughter goes on to taunt her mother for the same, and asks her to look inside herself as she herself hasnt been able to please her husband yet. Sohan’s wife slaps her daughter. The screen freezes on the daughter’s hurt face.
Precap: On the roof, Divya tells gaurav that before they get married or take it further, shne wants tio clear some things. she tells him about Raj, who she has passionately loved for the past 10 years, even though she left Bhopal and went to Mumbai for her familial obligations. She says that its now on him to decide what he wants. Gaurav hears this and silently goes inside.

Been reading comments I missed last night. Well had a good laugh. Haven seen this episode yet. Weill make time later to look at it.
So the American is Bindu kaushik. Well set me see her American performance.
Even miss fatty was in the track where lovely went into the future, she was lovely and karthik daughter.
The middle one was in Agle Janam as Lali sister and also in choti zindagi as Isha.
This story is one totally different from PV.
I think the leap should have been at least three to four years or six years for the most.
Raj and Sarita marriage reminds me of someone known to me got married because he mother wanted to show the girlfriend that if she was not ready for marriage, her son can get any girl he wants to marry. She got the boy married to this girl and he not being in love with this girl, could not forget his first love, eventually the marriage crumbled in less than six years.
Reason being, the boy did not put any effort into making the relationship with the girl grow. It was just there. Eventually she left him for someone else.
He’s all alone now. Wish his parents were alive today to see what a mess they made of his life. But his siblings are there to see what they contributed to.

May 29, 11:32Yes MK…..it’s true there are people who doesn’t value the system of marriage. It’s not about educated or uneducated, it’s about the sensitivity of human desires and passions. These characters are carefully selected to visualise the imperfections on marriage, relationship, love, family values.
Here the two individual (Raj & Divya) were compelled to depart each other for the betterment of their family members. But they couldn’t move themselves…. How did they valued their love before they depart????…

I think Raj is not even looking at Sarita. Weather she is beautiful or not he does not care to even look.
Yea I know, she says that it was Raj who taught her all about dressing etc. But she judged Sarita after leaving RAj for ten years. Did she not think how he would be feeling, what would be his condition after ten years of hurt, heartbreak and all that comes with it. He would even neglect himself. How can he now give that same place to another woman which he had in his heart and soul for the first love.
It is always different with another person.
I know from personal experience so I could talk hehehe

Suni….you have said it everything, whatever I felt about these three characters yaar…I should include some more….that’s it
Literally I’m not attracted to any of these characters as well as not hate any of them either. All these three characters are stagnant personalities who doesn’t want to change themselves instead trying hard to change other individual or situations.
Okey, now let me start with Sharita…..
I’m not feeling pity for Sarita for any reason. The most important fact is Sharita aware of Raj’s conditions before she married him. She came from wealthy background and seems brave and determined personality. Why didn’t she refuse to marry Raj when she overheard the speech of Raj parents & granny.
Suni I remember your annoyance against handicapped Ishita for her suicide attempt at the marriage hall. Sharita also forced Raj indirectly to marry her by keeping silence after learning the truth of Raj love and his rejection. So, she was not cheated by anyone since she herself has taken a hard decision to marry a man who is not ready to love her. Yes….being a strong personality she might’ve felt that she would change him.
What Sharita want from Raj?????….. his love or a child from him???…. I don’t think, she need his love….even if she wants his love , she didn’t try to impress him. Suni…..I didn’t know whether you noticed or not, when she attempted to entice him, she threw the towel on the floor and Raj observed it silently. Sarita also Arthi type of female but Arthi tried her best to make things perfect to impress Yash. Yash was also silent but opened his mouth clearly when the hairpin infected him. But this Raj seems not opening his mouth for anything, if Sharita interested on his likes and dislikes, she might’ve learnt that perfection in these long ten years….right????..
And his family is handled by Sharita’s negative method. I’m not saying she is wrong but her method is wrong. She is spoiling her inner peace and also the harmony of the family.
In fact, she doesn’t need any help from Raj to manage those uncouth people, since she transformed herself almost one of them.
Yes….that American came there to indicate the thinking of society when the female didn’t have child for ten years. Now my question is Sharita need a child from Raj or his love????… why is she waiting and destroying her youth for nothing???… why is she forcing a man who doesn’t have love for her???… what gave her hope from a hopeless man & his family????…. who is the main culprit for her fruiless life ?????…..I believe, Sharita’s stagnant & determined personality is the main reason.

As MU stated he is rebellious against his father and silently punishing them for their insensitive act. Yes, he is punishing himself to punish his parents…..but he doesn’t have any rights to destroy an innocent life for his selfish motives. Why didn’t he divorce Sharita????… why didn’t he talk to Sharita clearly about his helpless state…. if he couldn’t love someone it’s not Sharita fault….How could he become infeasible????…. we didn’t know anything about him….I think we should wait to hear from him.
Divya…..I respected her when she decided not to disturb Raj as soon as she learned he got married. Yes, mentally she is determined to move ahead but she is doing things hastily, she need time to pacify herself to come out of this tragic . Unnecessarily, she involves one more innocent into their complexities…. Divya is disappointed and annoyed about Raj’s decision that sad emotions are thriving her towards wrong decision.
We have wait & watch to know them more….

Shrishty is doing a splendid job. It’s the Mittals that made her into a loud bitter character. Don’t know yet what there motive in doing so. Must like they made Arti loud and speak according to my kids, “she outta timing” our out of place sometimes. But her heart was in the right place.
Sarita is the forgotten daughter. Parents gets her married, washes their hands of that burden. Lots of people thinks a daughter is a burden, just like Ishita parents.
Well I don’t think that rowdy mother in law here thinks so about hers. The way she treats here daughter in law is like she has no intention of getting hers married to live in any in laws house.
I don’t even want to talk about Divya, she portrays a fickle woman who concentrates more on looks, dress and outward appearance and not what lies below. Like the way she judged Sarita.
And how she spoke about dressing and lipstick etc.
she sounds so shallow. That appearance is all that matters.

The normal sass-bahu drama yeah I get it. But I believe its time for Sarita to get up and leave. If 10 yrs nothing happened don’t wait another 10 years because that’s a fatal mistake.
You can lead a horse to the stream but you can’t frink water and that’s what happening here. Raj is silently rebelling against his family by abandoning sarita in my books. And I wonder why has he spoken now like I said he’s deadlier he sees and hears many things but ignores it and continue to stay in his own world. He may never love Sarita but he should respect her feelings as a human. She’s love starved and he knows it. In truth I blame this failed marriage on Raj . He reminds me of society follow rules and silently watch the injustices.
I admore sarita for her strength and her passion and she’s acting like any normal being who is being attacked and forced into a corner. What else can she do but fight back.

It makes us question the reasons for marriage . Is it just a formality or should it be the union of two souks . Did destiny play a trick on two lover ? Or did destiny send them on the right path ??
Raj is probably unable to connect with Sarita emotionally , and therefore he abstains physically . Sarita is still trying to win him over . She was brought there to be a wife , daughter-in-law and mother . She is being used to fulfil the traditional requirements of a woman . Her circumstance makes us pity her , but this is her life . If she wants out , what are her options ??? Like you mentioned , her youth as been stolen , but , is there hope for her like the tittle Ek Nayi Ummeed suggests ???
Maybe Raj might one day recognise the errors of his ways in not giving Sarita a chance . Divya is also stuck in the past . She is trying to drag her mind forward but her heart remains stuck in past time . Divya chose her path , she wasn’t by Raj’s side throughout his life . She chose a career .Even if her siblings depended on her for financial support , she didn’t trust Raj to be her husband to take care of her needs . She is very wrong to expect him to be hers now . You are correct Divya will also be using Gustav .

If no child was conceived….Sarita could have gotten artificial inception with Raj genetics and a child would be born. Makes sense to me. Yes she was sent to be the normal cow that who gives birth and does the traditional work but as a human being respect is needed. Yes he may not love her she was also thrown into this marriage also and I can see she sucked it up and was trying to work with it. Raj neglected her for 10 years and she was emotionally abused 24-7. If I was a lawyer I would sue that family to the point where thwy would have to beg alms to survive. So sometimes I wonder if you can treat your DIL like this then you should excpect same for your own daughter.
Sometimes I wonder if fate (mittals & writers) will get Sarita married to Gustav. And you are right in her mistrust in raj proved it. No one is happy except the fat 1 who eats.

I noticed that from the very first episode . That is one of the points , although the family has become wealthy , their mentality is still impoverished from lack of proper education . Pari lost her battle to work . Gayatri had wanted a male heir . Maya never remarried despite losing her spouse before Papa S. In the West women are sometimes faced with the glass ceiling and they may have to choose between being a wife or mother and having a career . In many ways it is still a man’s world but like the song suggests “it ain’t nothing without a woman or a girl “

But , given the point that you have just made , you cannot condemn Raj , because he did not pretend to be happy when he wasn’t . He didn’t force himself to love a girl whom he didn’t love . Is it possible to change and remain the same ?? How will a person adjust to a new way of life without compromising who they are , and what they stand for just a litte ?? Certain situations require us to change ourselves , but , we must be careful to do so for the better .

May 28, 14:58Raj is so bitter and angry and blind to the good aspects of his life . He isn’t taking his duties as a husband seriously . He is hurting his wife because of a lover who abandoned him .. Divya made her choice , for whatever reasons , good or bad , but , she left Raj . She left things in the hands of faith and it didn’t work out well for her.
Whether Raj married for his parents or not , it doesn’t matter , the point is that he is married. We cannot ever get happiness for ourselves before first wishing happiness for others . He knows that he makes. His wife’s life miserable , but he doesn’t care about the consequences of his actions. I’m not liking Raj nor Sarita much at present . So what , life gave Raj lemons it doesn’t mean that he has to be just as sour as one.

May 28, 23:12SJ dear , I never make myself sad for no good reason . So please exclude me from all that sadness . I enjoyed today’s episode . I think that the Mittals have a good show in the making . They are directly confronting some contentious issues . The aunt from America has no business coming to that house and behaving as though she is self -righteous because she lives in America . She knew nothing about the inner workings of that household , for she is not a member of the family . However , she spoke exactly what the society would be thinking about Sarita . People like to blame the wife for not being able to bear children , Sarita was very impressive the way she spoke her mind to Raj .
There are good things in this show also , I will not be biased against it because of PV1 .

I have an older neighbour , in her mid 50’s , she is very much like a second mom to me . She never had children either and it isn’t her fault but her husband’s . My mom and her were good friends and I am very close to her . She would tell me stories about her experiences as the eldest daughter-in-law . What stuck in my mind was that her father never ate food by any of his daughters houses because he believed that it was a shameful thing to do so . I can’t remember exactly , but I think her mother also felt the same . I can understand Sarita’s parents not getting involved , it is the old time way .
On PV1 we never saw Vidhi’s parents . The in- laws never visited from Paridhi’s side either . Sarita is a strong character , from her seduction scene before , I don’t think that she is ready to throw in the towel just yet . She is determined to win her husband’s heart .

No they move on . They don’t need our tears , they did what was best for themselves and we must do the best for ourselves . Even if you cry for every day for a year , pV 1 will not return .
