YOu know it’s funny because in Canada my family there are planning a wedding, the groom’s family is Trini, that’s my side, the bride is Afgani, we have some other WEst indian friends of different races that has to be invited to the wedding since they are so close to our family, they are more like a member of the family than friends,
The problem is that the parents are worried how would the Afgani family react to see the different races at the wedding, they are accustomed to having “white Canadians” and themselves and other brown people, but to have a trini or jamaican and not brown or white is like seeing an alien from outta space, I mean it is so damn hard for us West Indian to be explaining ourselves to them other kinda people that we live like one, there’s no racial divide, no seeing the other person as a different race or culture, I just told my nephew, that when his “auntie” enters the house, (the family is coming to meet “the family of the boy”) make sure and embrace her give her a big hug and kiss and introduce her as your aunty to the girl and her family.
They just cannot understand that.
I am proud and happy not to mention lucky to be WEst Indian and be able to embrace people of different races and cultures easily into each other homes and lives.
Just thought about it when I saw the article and wanted to share my sentiments.
I found this message very informative … Makes sense to me…Dev..We can bless each space we enter leaving a sweet energetic footprint behind.Physical space acts like a sponge, absorbing the radiant of all who pass through it. And, more likely than not, the spaces we move through each day have seen many people come and go. We have no way of knowing whether the energy footprints left behind by those who preceded us will invigorate us or drain us. Yet we can control the energy footprint we leave behind for others. In blessing each space we enter, we orchestrate a subtle energy shift that affects not only our own experiences in that space but also the experiences of the individuals who will enter the space after us. While we may never see the effects our blessing has had, we can take comfort in the fact that we have provided grace for those that follow after us. When you bless a room or an entire building, you leave a powerful message of love and light for all those who will come after you. Your blessings thus have myriad effects on the environments through which you pass. Old, stagnant energy is cleared, creating a vacuum into which fresh and invigorating energy can freely flow. The space is thus rendered harmonious and nourishing, and it becomes a hub from which positive feelings are transmitted. Intent is the key component of the blessings you leave in your physical wake. If your intent involves using your own consciousness as a tool for selflessly spreading grace, your blessings will never go awry.

I wish the Mayor of San fernando would enforce strict regulations and h ave officers do their duty and take thes people off the street, give them a bath, clean them up good, give them clothes to wear, I know it is near to impossible to get all of them, but at least he is in a position to start something and get the ball rolling, Rome wasn’t built in a day. They say I talk too much and they can’t do anything, sigh, I read where this one man planted how many acres of land with trees, the land was barren and he painstakingly planted the trees one by one all by himself. If there is a will there will be a way.
Kris.. Thank you ..We had our meeting tonight..,

Yes Amaica, the TT government needs to do something quick about all these crimes that have plagued this country over the years.
Crime was in the making more that twenty odd years but now it is a way of life in TT. People do these crimes thinking they would not be caught at least not in a million years (by TT standards)and if they are caught there’s always jail which seems to have alot of facilities like cigarettes, cell phones etc. Hanging should be re-introduced or like in some states in the United States….lethal injections. It must start now; it is long long overdue.
I saw in the Newsday today that the tigress in the zoo had two cubs…a boy and a girl….nice pic….so sweet.
The “bus driver” was sent to the St. Anns Hospital for evaluation. Its a mad mad country.
Hello PV Family; hope all is well.
Do have a good week and be safe out there people.
Some people in TT are crazy, whats happening to this country and its people. Guy who stole a bus for a joy-ride, 19 year old girl killed by man in a wheelchair, too much drive-by shooting etc.
Lord please put a hand and heal this country.
Hi Lens, I know right, he from quite up north come south to thief a bus????? damn crazy ass I say,
And the guy in the wheel chair, well he was wanted for murder and the girl and her parents fully well knew that and they were hiding him. Lord put ah hand for true with all these crazy ass characters we have in this country.
It’s no longer beautiful T& T..
The Government must get the Hanging law pass..
I think it’s our only hope to curb this situation and
Get back some sort of stability in our country.
Girls… Suni’s birthday is on the 9 th February.
Did anyone notice Liman’s ( silent reader) wedding picture above..
Guess congratulations are in order… Hope she has
a great and blessed married life.
“When we forgive, we free ourselves from the tie that binds us to the one who hurt us. We become LIBERATED.”
Each morning before I meditate, I go through a detailed heart-opening ritual that includes asking myself a few questions. I call this ritual “The Secrets of the SweetSpot” and an important part of the process is asking:
How can I be more accepting? More self-accepting.
How can I be more compassionate? More self-compassionate.
How can I be more forgiving? More self-forgiving.
How can I heal this heart?
We are in constant dynamic exchange with the world around us, which means our actions simultaneously touch the lives of those around us and have deeper consequences on what we feel, what we think about and what we do.
We all have made mistakes, chosen non-nourishing choices and allowed our words and actions to hurt others – and perhaps the most unintended consequence is that we’ve created pain within and around us. We’ve pointed fingers, compared ourselves to someone else, relished in Schadenfreude (rooting for someone or something to fail), pushed people away (even when we were trying to get them to come closer), gossiped, cut off our nose to spite our face, and refused to give in so we could say “I told you so!” And then there are all the grievances, grudges, resentments, comparisons, envies and gripes.
They serve no one – they fester inside – they distract our mind from feeling bliss and our heart from loving. They sour into bitterness, self-righteousness, cynicism and arrogance. And in time, these self-inflicted feelings of discomfort morph into dis-ease in our physical body and in our mind. And then ultimately, they turn into disease.
Only forgiveness can help bathe away the negativity. Only forgiveness can release you from the prison of attachment and anger. Only forgiveness will bring you inner peace.
And how can we forgive others if are not willing to forgive ourselves first? How can we open our hearts to others if they are closed off to ourselves? We must open ourselves to self-compassion so that we can then be compassionate to others. If we can’t forgive ourselves, can we really authentically forgive others? If we do not believe we are worthy, how in the world could someone else be worthy?
We are all just doing our best from our own level of consciousness at the time. And if we are willing to truly make a commitment to chose another response or a more nourishing behavior the next time, then we all deserve a little forgiveness.
RIGHT NOW. Today. In this breath. You are entitled to happiness.
What you put on your plate might affect what you see in the mirror. But a few tweaks to your dining habits can go a long way to keeping your skin youthful and your body healthy.
For example, eating too much sugar and processed carbohydrates (like pasta, bread, and baked goods) can lead to damage in your skin’s collagen, which keeps your skin springy and resists wrinkles, says Andrea Giancoli, MPH, RD. She’s a policy analyst for Beach Cities Health District.
Foods to Favor
Go for a Mediterranean-style diet, Harlan says. Vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy, and lean protein can help fight inflammation and keep you looking your best, he says.
Eat whole foods that are closest to their natural state as possible, says Giancoli. For example, instead of apple sauce, try a fresh whole apple.
Try eating more of these foods:
Romaine lettuce. It’s high in vitamins A and C, which curb inflammation. Also try broccoli, spinach, arugula, watercress, escarole, and endive.
Tomatoes. They’re rich in a nutrient called lycopene. So are watermelon, grapefruit, guavas, asparagus, and red cabbage.
Salmon. It’s high in omega-3 fats, which fight inflammation. Tuna is another good choice.
Lentils and beans. These are good sources of protein and are loaded with fiber and nutrients. Try black beans, split peas, limas, pintos, chickpeas, and cannellini beans.
“Your skin is essentially made of protein, so if you don’t get enough healthy protein in your diet, your skin will reflect that,” Giancoli says. “Along with fish, beans are a great way to get it.”
Oatmeal. Whole grains such as oatmeal, whole wheat breads and pastas, brown rice, and quinoa help curb inflammation.
“These also have B vitamins in them, like thiamine and riboflavin, which are important for skin as well,” Giancoli says. If you don’t get enough, it can give you rashes and make your skin look scaly, she says.
Go for a variety and make this way of eating a habit.
“If you’re not getting enough of the good stuff on a regular basis, you won’t be able to produce healthy new skin cells in the way that you should,” Giancoli says.
Oh Amaica, I know the feeling exactly, that is why I refuse to go certain places and listen to certain people.
Recently I found out my own relative said so many negative things about me, people would believe, I was bothered, but you know what, I leave all in the hands of God almighty, He alone knows what’s in your heart and in others, whatever who says, they say it for their own self, it does not affect your spirituality or belief in God whatsoever, I myself have take a little break from everything. My Swami ji is here, his worldly father passed away, recently, I have only been to one sunday morning and Makar Sankranti, the celebration was really something, it is also the anniversary of my Guru being bestowed the title of Jagadguru Tam by the Pundits of Kashi oh so many years ago, so it was double auspicious for us.
Concentrate on the positive and the teachings of your Guru and leave the rest in the hands of the Almighty,
You have really shared some beautiful and inspiring thoughts, I enjoyed reading them.
Take care.
Have a blessed day all,
When people, especially people you consider close to you, be it blood relatives or so called friends, speak ill of you, try to make you look bad and bring you down in front of other people, it is only because they are lacking in something, whether it be physically or mentally or intellectually, they try to bring you down and feel they rise above you, but the truth is they are just fooling themselves, harming their own devotion and belief in God and Guru, it is an insult to God And Guru to even think much less say bad about anyone. I leave everything in the hands of a god and He alone will be the judge, whoever say what they say and do for themselves alone.

Water isn’t just “good for you” — water burns fat. Water suppresses hunger. Water renews your skin. Just drinking 12 ounces of pure water every day can take a few years off your face in a matter of weeks. You’ll also drop fat, have more energy, and save your kidneys and liver from chronic overwork.
When your kidneys are taxed from too little water, your liver has to take over. Now, get this: Your liver is your number one fat-burning organ. Do you REALLY want it processing liquids and toxins rather than BURNING FAT? No way, right? Well, grab a glass of water, and watch the mirror. Within a few weeks, the change to your face and body will be noticeable.
“When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I’ve got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.
Suddenly I didn’t know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly. She didn’t seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?
I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn’t talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn’t love her anymore. I just pitied her!
With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company. She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.
The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn’t have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane. When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.
In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn’t want anything from me, but needed a month’s notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month’s time and she didn’t want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.
This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day. She requested that every day for the month’s duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.
I told Jane about my wife’s divorce conditions. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.
My wife and I hadn’t had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don’t tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.
On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn’t looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.
On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn’t tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.
She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.
Suddenly it hit me… she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.
Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it’s time to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.
But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn’t noticed that our life lacked intimacy. I drove to office…. jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind…I walked upstairs. Jane opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the divorce anymore.
She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Jane, I said, I won’t divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn’t value the details of our lives, not because we didn’t love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart. Jane seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away. At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I’ll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.
That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed -dead. My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was so busy with Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me from the whatever negative reaction from our son, in case we push through with the divorce.— At least, in the eyes of our son—- I’m a loving husband….
The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves.
So find time to be your spouse’s friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. If you are not in a relationship now, remember this for the second (or third) time around. It’s never too late.
If you don’t share this, nothing will happen to you.
If you do, you just might save a marriage. Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up
I’m taking a rest from Sat Sangh these days…
This year I have decided to take a back seat..
I honestly cannot sit and listen to some of the
people who deliver messages… First live the life…
They make sarcastic remarks directed to people
in the audience …Others don’t like it either….
Should listen to FM’med on radio…Money scandal again..,
KR… behaves like an Ostrich at times… with his head buried
in the sands…Sorry to share something negative…
But there’s always two side to a coin… I feel used ….
The differences and changes of one nights sky to another never cease to impress me. This moment was almost surreal in its marvelous beauty and quietness. You know that moment when you begin to question those incredibly naive and childish things like how we human beings are able to fight, stress our way through life or occupy us with anything destructive when there is such magnificent beauty around us that could heal our poor souls if we just opened up our eyes and got closer to the real things in life. No matter how cliché, I truly believe that a closeness to nature makes us more humble and somehow manages to soften us as human beings if we only are open to that kind of change.
And, of course, the proximity to the quiet nature could also drive you completely crazy when you’re fed up with soul searching, finding your inner peace and all that crap. Living on a boat and sailing around the world gives you a lot of time to go through both those contradictory emotions and many nuances in between. One day you marvel at all that beauty and tranquility that gives you so much fulfillment and you ask yourself why you haven’t always lived this close to the nature, next day you wanna pull your hair out because everything is so.very. peaceful and you swear to god that on next island you’ll jump off at you’ll locate the busiest bar in the neighborhood and get yourself as drunk as humanly possible to forget how much you miss your friends and something crazy happening around you. But that’s just to get used to. We can’t always have everything we want at the same time, can we. Until I find the magic formula I’ll continue to enjoy the sunsets best I can – sometimes while drunk and pathetic, but most of the times happy with the greatest sense of thankfulness for all what we get to experience on this journey of a lifetime. The sail across the South Pacific will for sure be an even greater mental challenge for us both.
Hi Kris and amaica. Just got back from the zoo its cool shady and lots of animals and its totally redesigned. It’s my way of relaxing. I saw the male Bengal tiger I think his name is Sher Khan he very regal looking and his keeper was scratching his stomach, also saw destiny the other tigress, she looked like she was having a great time playing under the waterfall, also it has a white lioness.Didn’t see Rajasi she’s spends most of her time in the den with her cubs. But the absolute best part of the zoo are the giant river otters those two fur balls are a bundle of energy.
Oh Trins you are my kinda girl, find relaxation in the zoo. Me too, I love it there, a visit long over due for me, I just live to otters, i love live the Lions and tigers, making me feel like going to the zoo
I also love strolling through the botanical gardens, looking at some of the shows on Colors, have now started to enjoy Balika Vadu, now only to find out one of the main character is gonna die.
Amaica yep the zoo is great and just a fun place to chill.
Kris I hate when that happens, you start to enjoy a show then it all goes bonkers! Lol
I love the zoo on the weekdays cause there are no crowds and you really get to enjoy it there. I really love the sound of the flowing water, in all the exhibits. I can’t wait for the rhinos’ to arrive.
Where is Phoenix guys?
I’ve been getting alot of gifts for the baby, but I think its to much,so I’ll give some away to charities and to some single moms I know. What I’m suppose to do with four bathtubs for a baby? The kid isn’t here yet and aunt’s and uncle’s have gone way overboard. I’m grateful but its way to much.
I’m heading to work for two hrs I’ve to meet some important peeps.
Remember we live in an oil and gas economy, oil will be below $40 for while,so spend carefully and save wisely.

January 24, 20:08lol, am still laughing Amaica, I had to share that with my friends on fb too.
Racism in America…. Caribbean Nationals just don’t get it?
I found this topic

January 23, 15:15I found this message very informative … Makes sense to me…Dev..We can bless each space we enter leaving a sweet energetic footprint behind.Physical space acts like a sponge, absorbing the radiant of all who pass through it.

January 20, 13:00Hello beautiful PV Family.
You guys be safe.

January 18, 08:43Forgiveness…
A
January 18, 08:47Only forgiveness can help bathe away the negativity.
A
January 21, 16:57Kris…. The above was meant for me..
Recently I had too many issues ..
This forgiveness thing is easier said

January 18, 08:27The key approach ? Eat better.

January 16, 07:06Oh Amaica, I know the feeling exactly, that is why I refuse to go certain places and listen to certain people.
Take care.
Have a blessed day all,
kris
January 16, 07:06When people, especially people you consider close to you, be it blood relatives or so called friends, speak ill of you, try to make you look bad and bring you down in front of other people, it is only because they are lacking in something, whether it be physically or mentally or intellectually, they try to bring you down and feel they rise above you, but the truth is they are just fooling themselves, harming their own devotion and belief in God and Guru, it is an insult to God And Guru to even think much less say bad about anyone. I leave everything in the hands of a god and He alone will be the judge, whoever say what they say and do for themselves alone.

January 16, 04:07: Avoid Chronic Dehydration

January 15, 21:58MARRIED OR NOT, YOU SHOULD READ THIS …
“When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I’ve got something to tell you.

January 15, 17:50Hi Kris…
I’m taking a rest from Sat Sangh these days…
This year I have decided to take a back seat..
I honestly cannot sit and listen to some of the
people who deliver messages… First live the life…
They make sarcastic remarks directed to people
in the audience …Others don’t like it either….
Should listen to FM’med on radio…Money scandal again..,
KR… behaves like an Ostrich at times… with his head buried
in the sands…Sorry to share something negative…
But there’s always two side to a coin… I feel used ….

January 16, 04:35There’s always two sides of a coin

January 14, 12:17Hi Kris and amaica.

January 14, 21:55Hello Trin…
Well, I can tell you had a fun day at the Zoo..
Thanks for sharing the highlights with us.
The otters always draw the crowd and stills
the show…
kris
January 15, 10:24Oh Trins you are my kinda girl, find relaxation in the zoo.

January 15, 11:33Hi Kris and amaica.
TTYL LOVE TO ALL

January 11, 13:44Hi Sweet SJ…
Oh my .. I’m so sorry to hear that you were sick…
I think you body required that rest ,that’s why you
felt that way.. Doctors give so much of themselves
to their patients and the medical institution for which they work..
They seldom get thanks from the patients and no recognition
form those in authority… They get their salary… that’s it …
SJ… We all share similar views regarding those guys…
Always thought GC and KSG demonstrated very high values…
Never judge a book by it’s cover…
You take care of yourself my dear… Will chat again soon…Bye..

January 10, 07:56SJ…. Where are you these days girl… Missing you..
We will all love to hear your comments on GC’s new film…
Suni… I love you and I respect your wishes…
Will also love to hear from you regarding GC new movie…
Angel…. Where have you disappeared to my dear…
Umai… How are you my dear…hope to see you here soon…
Afresh… How are you ….Wonder what your reactions will be
regarding your dearest fan GC…
My honest opinion… GC thought that his fans want to see more romance
on the screen so he delivered… But a little too much… He’s not the same
person I used to adore …He know best why he choose to do this movie .
I always wanted to see him on the big screen… He has made it..
Congratulations to him.. I’m not sure whether I still want to see this movie..
SJ
January 10, 23:57Dear MU Same to you best wishes to you and you and your and your family
