Preity Zinta and Pandit Jasraj on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa
This weekend, Pandit Jasraj and Preity Zinta are the celebrity guests on ‘Hero sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’
This coming weekend, two eminent stalwarts from different walks of life will grace the stage of Zee TV’s ‘Hero Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’. Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj and Preity Zinta who need no introduction in the field of Indian classical music and the Hindi film industry respectively. Pandit Jasraj and Preity Zinta will make an appearance in this Saturday and Sunday, 27th and 28th October episodes of Hero Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012. Preity was a celebrity guest to promote her upcoming movie ‘Ishkq In Paris’ while Pandit Jasraj was the Mahaguru for the week. The mentors – Shankar Mahadevan, Sajid-Wajid and Rahul Ram – gave Preity a grand welcome singing ‘Pretty Woman’ as she entered the stage whereas Pandit Jasraj was welcomed by anchor Javed Ali by touching his feet in reverence.
Pandit Jasraj was very impressed by the fact that Madhuri’s in laws and her husband takes a keen interest in her singing. After her rendition of Lata Mangeshkar’s Airi Pawan Panditji commented, “The support of your family is visible in your singing.” Mahaguru made everyone give a standing ovation to Mohd. Amaan after his mind blowing performance on the classical song Bhor Bhayi. According to Panditji Amaan sang like a machine gun.
And Preity was floored by the riveting performances by the ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012’ Top 15 contestants. She specially liked Jasraj Joshi’s rocking performance on the song Aafton Ke Parindey from the movie Ishaqzaade and said, “While singing, I loved the way you growled, your attire and your overall personality. All three put together gives you oodles of attitude; and the right kind of attitude.” After Shehnaaz’s performance Preity requested Sajid-Wajid to sing a song for her from her upcoming movie.
Sajid-Wajid are the music director of ‘Ishkq In Paris’ and Wajid bhai strummed the guitar and sang ‘Jaane Bhi Do’ with his entire team around him. Wajid Ali got a standing ovation and all appreciated the composition for which he had lent his voice in the film. Ludhiana’s Arshpreet Kaur made Preity tap her foot with her energetic performance on Main tere peeche reh gayi. “You sang like a heroine! Tussi Cha Gaye Ho,” said Preity in absolute awe.
It’s very rare to see the usually bubbly and chirpy actress, Preity Zinta become emotional after an act. It was Jazim from Bhatinda, Punjab who managed to move Preity with his rendition of a ghazal by Mehndi Hasan, Ranjishe Hi Sahi,. Commenting on the performance, Preity said, “I have not heard too many ghazals but your performance instantly touched a chord. It brought back memories of my childhood days.”
