Pratigya 28th January 2011 Written Update

The Sanskaari House

A Doctor comes in and checks Kesar..All the Saxen’as crowd around Kesar bed and watch this maneuver carefully [The saxena’s are stingy people , They are scared that the Doctor may make of with some microscopic dirt]..He questions Kesar , thinking she might have picked Stomach flu, but Kesar negates that assumption, Nainaiji chips in and wonders whether it could be something else[like stork visit] , The Doctor nods his head sagely and says that could be it[Wasn’t the doctor supposed to suggest that or Kesar ] , prescribes some tests and takes his leave ..Kesar is left alone and she is brooding[ how will I know what she is brooding on…u let ur imagination run riot !!]

Gun House..

A cold and shivering Pratigya walks in to her bed room only to stop short in surprise…she stands looking at something in front of her [ Oye, Cameraman..zoom at what she is staring at..will ya ] ..we see a shapeless quilt lying on the bed..and inside it [No, not shakthiya..no not even Nitin or Rakeshwa] is our very own Makan chor and Lazy Krishna…he is soundly asleep ..Pratigya stalks to the bed..shakes Krishna awake..Krishna is roused but refuses to peep out of the blanket..But our masterni is made of sterner stuff..she will not allow him to shirk his duty, she orders him to go and look for a job [Han..It is available at all leading shops’ na..all he has to do is pick it up].Krishna tries to give 101 reasons for not going in search of a job , But Pratigya turns deaf ears..Krishna comes out of the quilt trembling and grumbling about cold .[ he is dressed in jeans and shirt..when did he change ..and for that matter when did Pratigya change her sari..looks like TN house and Saxena’s house are located at 2 different latitude]..Pratigya shoos him off like a proper nagging wife and also warns him against cooking up false excuses …and if Krishna even tries to put wool over her eyes , then she will just asks Tunna and Chandu…Krishna is duly alerted to this weather warning and takes a resolve to never take Tunna and chandu into confidence again…and also to be on full alert when he is with them..

we move to the Bank

Adarsh is busily working when he is summoned by the manager..Adarsh is petrified by this sudden summons[Guilty mind working overtime ]Adarsh wonders whether the Manager has come to know about his nefarious activities and gets up slowly[like a man heading for guillotine] he enters the Manager’s Room ..and with great trepidation he asks the reason for calling him.The Bank Manager hands Adarsh a letter which Adarsh takes with a shaking hand [He is convinced that he is being dismissed] , Adarsh opens the letter and reads it through, his face blooms like the flower of desert and he thanks the Manager for promoting him despite the fact that he had Gone on a long leave.The Manager smiles and says the reason for the promotion is the Gentle man sitting over there [Points towards the sofa]..Adarsh turns and his pale face drains of color and the rare smile is wiped off his lips for sitting on the sofa looking for all the world like king of Persia is Sajjan Singh…Sajjan Singh turns and gives a butter will not melt in mouth smile and comes to Adarsh and says the he deserves this promotion and much more and from now on Adarsh will be the third son of Sajjan Singh…The Gullible Adarsh falls for this trap and hugs Sajjan Singh..

Kitchen Politics in Thakur Nivas

Pratigya gets a pad and pen and comes and sits beside Ghanti Dadi..Pratigya wants to know the recipe for Aloo ki bhartha..Ghanti Dadi gives her the recipe [It was dinned into us that Pratigya was a superlative cook…and she does not know to prepare Aloo ki bhartha] ,Amma is watching this scene as if she has drunk gallons if vinegar ..Piyasiya comes and asks for the menu to cook for Dinner..Amma utilizes this chance to take potshots at Pratigya ..Amma orders Piyasiya to cook 2 daals and Spinach sabzi [ she wants to be the Popeye the sailor girl and take on Ghanti Dadi]..Piyasiya goes to prepare the dinner when Ghanti Dadi stops Piyasiya and orders her to cook Aloo Bhartha..[will Amma take this lying down…Nope !!] Amma unleashes her verbal volley which is swiftly countered by an ace delivery of Ghanti daadi. Ghanti Daadi then takes her two disciples and marches into Kitchen to cook ALOO BHARTHA [Round One >>>>>>> Victory to Ghanti Dadi]

Back to Chai House again

Adarsh walks into the Saxena Manor with a box of sweets..Everyone wants to know the reason for sweets ..Adarsh happily replies that he, adarsh has been promoted[simply unbelievable, isn’t it ]..everyone break into million dollar smiles…[But how can such an happy atmosphere stay for so long in saxena house] ..Shyam Saxena, the eternal worrier puts a spoke into this happy atmosphere by asking How could Adarsh get a promotion so soon and that too after a prolonged leave of absence[ Yeh Saxena’s kabse ithne realist and practical bangaye, Tanthya is shocked ]..Adarsh looks nonplussed and stands there gaping at his papa and giving a creditable imitation of fish caught in the hook
