Parichay 8th August 2012 Written Update

Note: Will be referring Kunal’s Anand as Anand Sr. and Siddhi’s Anand as Anand Jr.

The episode starts with Anand Sr. birthday party, Kunal thinking of grabbing a drink, but has a FB of Anand Sr. getting upset with him for fighting the boxing match on his birthday and decides not to take the drink. At a different party Siddhi is asking Sulekha about Anand and Anand Jr. makes an entry. Siddhi gets emotional seeing him with the FBs of his birth. She hugs Anand Jr., but Anand Jr. is indifferent by her gesture. Siddhi says some pretty emotional things to Anand Jr. but he gets angry at her and tells her to stay away from him. Sulekha interferes and tells him to behave, but Anand Jr. says he doesn’t want to know who Siddhi is and just wants her to stay away from him. Siddhi asks Sulekha, why is Anand behaving like that and where is Kunal and her whole family members?

Sulekha tells Siddhi that Chopras and not here and they don’t know about Anand. Siddhi asks her why she didn’t take her son to his father and his family? She asks further If the Chopras refused to take in their son? Then says, she is certain they couldn’t have refused as they were waiting eagerly for their Anand so they couldn’t have refused to accept him. Sulekha tells her that her older son is not dead and tells her the whole past story. She gives some lame excuse to why she didn’t deliver the baby to Kunal (Who is she to make such decisions about others children? Don’t like her explanations). She says she did it for the betterment of Siddhi herself. Siddhi says she is sure that Kunal can never marry Richa even if he has broken all ties with her. She says Kunal needs Anand. Siddhi is getting upset at Sulekha that she shouldn’t have separated Anand Jr. from Kunal and she will rectify Sulekha’s mistakes and will unite Anand Jr. with his father. Sulekha giving wrong information to Siddhi that Kunal is married to Richa and she tells Siddhi to forget her past and move on. Sulekha is brainwashing Siddhi against Kunal and Chopras and tells her that Kunal has already found his happiness in Richa as he is married to her and she should do the same and move on (I am really hating Sulekha right now). Sulekha tells Siddhi to go and see with her own eyes that Kunal is married to Richa and If that’s true then she wouldn’t leave Anand Jr. with Kunal (Sulekha is another good for nothing character who is there to only create misunderstandings between SiNal).

Once Siddhi leaves, Anand Jr. gets angry at Siddhi for hugging him and Sulekha tells him that Siddhi is his mother. Anand Jr. gets shocked and says Sulekha had told him that his mother has gone abroad. Sulekha asks him to behave with Sidhi when he sees her next time he agrees but says to tell Siddhi never to touch him without his permission as he is not a baby anymore, but a grown up child.

Back to Aannd Sr. Birthday party, Gaurav sees some big industrialist and thinks to go meet him as he might get him a great job and he will be settle for life. While Gaurav’s conversation with the industrialist is going pretty favorable, they see Kunal and start talking bad about him then ask Gaurav if Kunal is his elder brother? As Gaurav is fumbling to answer and Kunal cuts in and says why they are asking him such a difficult question that Kunal is his brother? How can Gaurav answer this question as he is embarrassed to admit that Kunal is his brother? Kunal asks Gaurav that he is actually embarrassed to call him his brother isn’t he? The recites below 2 lines:

Mere Apane Mera Hone Ki Nishani Mange
Mera Aaina Mujhase Mera Parichay Mange

One of the guests taunts Kunal that Gaurav is rightly ashamed of him as his brother as anyone will be embarrassed to call him their relative. He further says except Kunal everyone else is decent (Sharif). He continues that Kunal doesn’t even have a job and only drinks all day. Kunal gets irritated and say I don’t drink with your money or Gaurav’s money that they have problem with him? Kunal asks Gaurav If he has ever borrowed money from him to drink? Gaurav is quite then Kunal asks him again as everyone except him are decent people there, but ironically all are only seem to concerned about him.

Then he says, (The best line of the show and very apt for his character as well), “I have to admit, I must be the most popular person as you all only seem to criticize me all the time by leaving behind your day job”. He further says, “If you all are that interested in my daily life so much, I should open a website where I would tell you where I am and what I am doing every minute of my life. If you have such a big problem with me being jobless, then why don’t you appoint me as your lawyers and I will fight your divorce case” (I felt these were Samir’s real feelings about certain people who have been harassing his poor wife with hate tweets, this is just my personal observation).

One of the guests taunts, when he couldn’t stop his own divorce how will he fight their divorce cases? They say that when he couldn’t win his wife’s case, how will he win their wives cases? They taunt him by saying that he not only lost his wife, but also his law career. If it wasn’t for Richa, he would be in jail right now, then they ask him about his unfaithful wife and Kunal gets very angry and slaps the guy. All are shocked to see it. Kunal continues fighting as to why they are inquiring about his wife and Anand Sr. comes in between and asks him to stop. Kunal stops, says sorry to his son and leave from there. Kunal goes to the bar, but doesn’t drink and says to himself that he shouldn’t get angry on his son’s birthday.

As those mean guys are still cribbing, Anand Sr. comes with an appetizer plate and puts in on the couch where the guy is about to sit. When the guy sits there his pants get dirty and everyone starts to laugh. Kunal who is watching all this from a distance has a sweet smile on his face and looks at Anand Sr. and Anand Sr. gives him an assuring wink and the episode ends.

Precap: Siddhi coming to the party and sees Richa whipping something off of Kunal’s face and starts to cry.
