Pankit Thakker’s ‘romantic date’ with Life OK’s Bahu Humari Rajni_Kant
Pankit Thakker has played all kinds of roles, starting from action to negative to comedy and now he is back as the romantic guy in Life OK’s upcoming show, Bahu Humari Rajni_Kant.
Yes, and the actor is super excited, as his dream of showcasing his romantic best on screen gets fulfilled in the Valentine Month (February)…
In the show, Pankit plays the role of the youngest son of the family, who is the cynosure of all eyes, who is madly in love with his wife, played by Tanvi Thakkar.
We hear the actor is glad that Producer Sonali Jaffar offered him a romantic role in Bahu…, where he will get to play a love story full of endearing moments and gestures. His character will bring out his romantic side, something that he had been wanting to return to.
Ask Pankit about his penchant for such roles and he says, “I have always been looking for romantic roles, but I chose the best available to me. In fact, even the triple roles that I did in my last show “Kis din Mera Viyaah Howega”was a love story in its own way. After playing the triple role, I was sure I didn’t want to do the usual, run-of-the-mill love stories where there is nothing new to explore. Bahu allows me to do that.”
Is it a conscious attempt to do versatile roles? “I don’t know. I don’t like to be slotted and don’t want to be known as a romantic actor either,” he says.
So what is “Bahu Humari..” all about ? “It is a very entertaining and engaging show and love is a very important part of this story. It was the producer’s trust in me that they gave me a romantic part. I was longing to do something like this. I also wanted to do comedy. Coincidently, I got both these elements in the show.”
From an audience point of view, what’s the difference between TV and films? “Unlike films where people go to watch their favorite stars, TV shows don’t do well only because of lead actors; they do well because of good writing and good characters. Films can be considered as a date or a one night stand that offers instant gratification to your senses; but a TV serial is more like a commitment, more like a marriage, where only one factor doesn’t count. It has to be good on several accounts and it has to deliver every single day, every single week, every freaking month and every freaking year till it lasts.”
On the expectations of the show touching the right chord of masses, a hopeful Pankit tells us, “I just hope it does well. I hope people appreciate it. After all it is produced by Sonali Jaffar and she connects with the family audience a lot.”
Pankit, may you shine as a star in your romantic stint!!
