Nirav P Soni awaits his claim to fame
Nirav P Soni, younger brother of popular actor Jay Soni is not happy with the way his role in the Colors’ show Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, produced by Sunshine Productions, is shaping up.
According to him, “Tanmay the character I play has not been developed as promised. He was supposed to turn positive after starting off as a negative character, but this did not happen. Of late, the emphasis has also shifted away to other characters.”
So why does he think this is happening? “Let’s face it, some characters run while few others do not. Having said this, the show is above all of us and I have no major issues with it.”
Does it mean that he will stick on to the show? Nirav states, “I might take a call, but as of now I am taking every day as it comes. Also, the soap has not seen good numbers because of the tough time slot of 10.30 pm where it is pitted against big shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and Punar Vivah. If we had been placed at a different time slot, we would have done better.”
Does the pressure of being Jay Soni’s brother affect him? To this, the actor diplomatically states, “I do not take much stress as I don’t compete with anybody. All I know is that I am a long term player here and I am taking my time to work on my body, dialogues and other essential attributes. I understand that after debuting with Disney’s Dhoom Machaao Dhoom five years back, success has envied me till now as many of my then co-stars like Jay Bhanushali and Vikrant Massey are already big stars. But I know that my time will also come.”
How does his elder brother Jay motivate him? “Well, he also has the same thing to say, that is I should not get disheartened and need to have patience. Even he did not get success easily (Sasural Genda Phool).”
Lastly, on the buzz that he throws attitude with the media fraternity, Nirav says, “This is news to me. I am a grounded guy and am in cordial terms with everyone in the media.”
Nirav, may you get popular just like your brother in days to come.
