Nikhil Arya to essay the role of Indradev in Star Plus’ Mahabharat

The picturesque promos of Star Plus’ upcoming mythological show Mahabharat have caught the attention of the masses. As the launch date nears closer (16 September 2013), there has been a lot of buzz about the ever-growing cast list on the show.

We have got to know that actor Nikhil Arya who came to fame with Kesar on Star Plus has bagged an important role in the show. As per sources, he will be seen essaying the role of Indradev, who is the father of Arjun in the magnum-opus Swastik Productions’ show.

When contacted, Nikhil refused to comment.

As per Hindu mythology, when Pandu wanted one of his sons to be superior to one and all, he worshipped the Indradav for a son. As a result of this, Kunti was blessed with a son whose name and fame will travel all over and defeat many enemies. Thus, when Kunti invoked Indravev, Arjun was born.
