Nehalaxmi Iyer remembers her “fun-filled” college days

Nehalaxmi Iyer, who is currently starring as Nazma Ahmed Khan in Zee TV’s Qubool Hai (4 Lions Films), updated her whatsapp status on 13 June 2013 saying, “This day last year..& the year before that..& the year before that..2008. This day was so special all these years. (sic)”

We called the pretty girl, to find out what her status was all about. She revealed to us that she was just getting nostalgic about her college days in Mithibai College, Mumbai. “It was tentatively around that date in June, that college would re-open after the summer vacations when monsoon would just set in. Me and my college buddies would have great fun in the rains, we would dance in the showers..”

Neha graduated from college last year with a first class in Psychology Honours. This bright student has juggled shooting and studies with élan ever since her childhood days. After all, she was a child star.

Many educational institutes are very cooperative when it comes to helping an actor student to manage both college and acting. If, Neha is to be believed her college was not amongst them. “There wasn’t a lot a cooperation from college. I took a break from acting in the final year as I wanted to attend all the classes.”

So why are her college days so sweetly memorable to her? She informed us that it was because of the extra-curricular activities that she participated in and her great circle of friends. “Apart from attending the lectures, I was involved in dance, the Rotaract Club, singing and fashion shows. I represented my college in extra-curricular events and also went on to win prizes in inter-college fests. I would love to hang out with my friends too.”

Her favourite hangouts were in and around Bandra, Juhu and Lokhandwala. “We would love to go to Juhu Beach and Café Mocha and McDonalds in Lokhandwala.”

Neha is currently pursuing her post graduation in Psychology through a correspondence course. She is interested in specialising in Child Psychology. Abnormal Psychology fascinates her too.]

We wish her all the best in her acting profession and career in psychology.
