My work-out consists more of cardio exercises such as swimming and jogging: Shaheer Sheikh

Hot and sexy Shaheer Sheikh, who sports his swift reflexes in Mahabharat in which he essays the character of Arjun, believes in eating whatever he feels like but what is more important for him is to burn out that extra fat.

In an interview with us, the talented actor shares his health secrets for our Lifestyle section.

Personal fitness mantra?
I believe in eating whatever I feel like, but burning calories is more important.

Personal diet mantra?
I do not have a diet mantra, but whenever I feel that keeping fit is the need of the hour, I opt for a diet that consists of 80 percent of healthy food and the balance 20 percent of junk food. Since I love pizzas and burgers, I keep one day for such kind of food items.

Are you a foodie?
Yes, I am a foodie.

Exercise routine?
Since I am a tall and heavy guy, I work out for two hours that consists more of cardio exercises such as swimming and jogging.

Are you a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian?
I am a strict non-vegetarian.

Favourite cuisine?
I love eating Indian and Italian food.

Favourite dish…
Since I have a fetish for cheese, I love to have pizza, pasta and rajma.

A must on your breakfast table?
Eggs are a must on my breakfast table.

Sugar or sugar-free tea/coffee…
I like sugar with tea. I also love to have green tea.

Lunch generally consists of?
When I am at home my mother cooks a variety of dishes for me but when I am on a shoot outdoors, I usually have chapattis along with a vegetable or have chicken and rice.

Dinner generally consists of?
In my long dinner schedule of 45 odd minutes, I prefer having grilled fish, to soup to dal khichdi; love eating paneer too.

Dessert delights?
I love having hot gulab jamuns with ice-cream.

My favourite drink (non-alcoholic)
Milk.

I do not drink.

Most unusual dish I have tasted?
Cannot recollect any as of now.

Experiment with food…
I usually do not experiment with food unless it is cooked by my mother who is a fabulous cook.

On the streets, I love to have…
I like eating shawarma.

Do you cook?
I have been living alone since 10 years now. So it’s natural that I know to cook.

Fitness tip?
I would advise people to eat whatever they want, but what is more important is to burn out those calories.
