“My parents wanted me to be a doctor in real life.” – Sahil Anand
After featuring in Bollywood movies like Student of the Year and Babloo Happy Hai, television shows like MTV Roadies – 4 and MTV Splitsvilla – 1 and a host of commercial ad films, the hot and sizzling actor is all set to mark his entry on Ek Nayi Ummeed…Roshni.
Let’s find out more about his character and his equation with his co-actors!
Sahil stated, “I play Dr. Nikhil on the show. He is a flirt in personal life but when it comes to professional life, he is a dedicated and a hard working individual. So, the audience will see two shades of my personality. Pooja (Pooja Gor), Inderjeet (Indrajeet Sagoo) and the rest of us are a young cast so we are like a gang on the sets. We are always laughing and having fun on the sets. An opportunity to work with a veteran actor like Amol Palekar was the primary reason I signed the show.”
Coming from a doctor’s family, we were curious to know how it feels playing one in reel life!
Elaborating the same, the charming actor said, “This show is very different from what I have done earlier as I have never played a doctor. My parents are doctors and I was always curious to know what my father did all day and the reason behind his hectic schedule and unbalanced life. Infact, my parents wanted me to be a doctor but I went on to pursue my engineering and then switched my profession as an actor.”
Given the fact that the cast will be taking tips and guidelines from real doctors on what goes on in a hospital, we asked him if his dad too contributed for the same?
Sahil said, “Of course! There was a scene where my director got stuck on how to go ahead with shooting a particular scene. I contacted my father who helped us deal with the scene.”
On his future Bollywood projects, Sahil averred, “I have two movies scheduled to release by the end of this year. I am trying to maintain a fine balance between television and films as I enjoy entertaining the masses through both the mediums.”
