“My character will leave the audience confused!”
Says Angad Hasija who will soon be seen as an archaeologist in Amrit Manthan.
Angad Hasija is eager to start the shooting of Amrit Manthan in a couple of days. After his sudden exit from the show Savitri, Angad was taking his own time to select the correct show amongst all the offers he had in hand.
Finally he gave a nod to Director’s Kut Production’s Amrit Manthan. What made him take up this show in particular? “I have a very good equation with Rajanji. I respect him a lot. Rajanji wanted me to be a part of Amrit Manthan long time back but due to some or the other reasons it never worked out. I took up Phulwa and then Ram Milaye Jodi so now that I was free again and this role was offered to me, it was my first option amongst others. I feel Rajanji was lucky for me too and since I started my career with Rajanji’s Bidaai there is a back to home feeling for me. I am back to working with my old team.”
Talking about his character, Angad who will portray the character of Karan Chhabra, an archaeologist says it is a very interesting character which will leave the audience confused and wanting to know more, “I had always wished to play a Punjabi character and now I have got a chance to play one. My character, Karan Chhabra is from Amrtisar and with his entry the story will see a major revamp. It is a very different character with many shades… I will have different looks. The character has a mix of positive and negative characteristics and it will leave the viewers a bit confused. I trust Rajanji totally for the way the character has been written and will be portrayed.”
Angad will also get a chance to experiment with his looks, “I will have short hair, a beard and get to wear formal clothes. I am very much excited and waiting for the shoot to start.” It doesn’t bother Angad that he will be seen on the same channel Life OK, which also airs Savitri his last serial. “I believe it was an unfortunate incident (his sudden exit from Savitri) and it is nobody’s fault as such. Why would anyone want to think something bad for me?” says Angad who has clearly moved on in life.
A very spiritual person, Angad makes it a point to take God’s blessings before he starts any new show, “I am a big follower of Sai Baba so I go to Shirdi, then to Siddhivinayak, Mumbadevi mandir, Mahalaxmi temple to name a few before I shooting for any new show. I feel good after the darshan and distributing Prasad. Even on a daily basis, I do pooja everyday… it is set in my routine, and I don’t miss it even on the day of my shooting. If ever I do, then I do it in the car on my way to my sets” concludes Angad who was just returning from Shirdi with his family.
