Monica Khanna salutes every mother who is a housewife

Monica Khanna simply loves her glamorous avatar, but is happy today to have got a diversified role in Zee TV’s new show, Housewife Hai… Sab Jaanti Hai. The actress who was seen essaying the role of Swati in Afsar Bitiya and the role of the sensational dancer Karishma in Life OK’s Aasmaan Se Aage will be portraying the typical housewife in the Zee show.

Monica says, “I am excited on getting this kind of a role. Housewife Hai.. Sab Jaanti Hai is a very interesting show, a family drama with a punch of comedy. I essay the role of Neelam, the only bahu in the Chaturvedi family who is a housewife. Through my track, the position and status of a housewife in a joint family can be seen. We are not showing the housewife as a typical ‘rona dhona’ character, but will show how her equations are with everyone in the family, and how her family members treat a housewife.”

Monica who has otherwise loved to take up glamorous roles says, “I never knew I can get this kind of a role. And when I got it I accepted it without any hesitation. In fact, I had not even told my mother that I have taken up the role of a housewife. She just knows that I have got a new show. I wanted it to be surprise for her, as she was curious after watching the promos of the new Zee show. She wanted to know how the television industry tackles the concept and depicts what a housewife would be like. Hence, I kept it as suspense that I play one such housewife.”

After enacting the role of a house maker, Monica’s respect for mothers has increased leaps and bounds. “I salute every mother who is a house wife. The father in the family can get tired after a day’s work; the children of the house can feel low, but the mother is always there for her family. I now understand the value of a housewife. And to enact such an important role in the show is an honour.”
