Mobbed in Punjab; Veera team takes help of bouncers and cops
Star Plus’ Veera, (Beyond Dreams Productions) that completes 100 episodes today (14 March 2013), is soaring up the popularity charts with every passing day. In fact, the cast and crew of the serial learnt about their rising popularity while shooting for their outdoor sequence in Punjab.
The team was mobbed! Yes, it wasn’t mobbed by a crowd of 100 or 200 people, but there were people in thousands who wanted to get a glimpse of the cast.
“We have put our heart and soul in Veera. We learnt about its popularity in Punjab as people there wanted to just touch, hug and kiss our little heros, Ranveer (Bhavesh Balchandani) and Veera (Harshita Ojha). The experience was extremely overwhelming,” explained Beyond Dreams producer, Yash Patnaik.
So stressful was the situation that the team had to actually call for twenty to twenty-five bouncers and ten to twelve cops to resume shooting every single day. The team was in the state for more than a week.
“Every time we went to a public place, we had the same amount of crowd. So we had to call bouncers and the cops,” Yash adds.
Kapil Nirmal, better known as Nihal Singh, went on to narrate the same story when contacted. “Yes, there were a lot of people all around us,” he quipped.
The team returned from Punjab yesterday (13 March 2013).
