Mita Vashisht, Piyush Sahdev, Rohit Purohit, Neeta Shetty, Nidhi Jha in Sony TV’s Encounter
Sony Entertainment Television’s Encounter, produced by Endemol India, will depict the story of the very first family that got into the underworld business. The family from Bihar got a strong foothold in Mumbai owing to their powerful persona and underworld activities.
The storyline will feature versatile actor Mita Vashisht playing the role of the powerful woman who would be the head of the family. Actress Nidhi Jha, who has done various episodics of late, will play the daughter in the family. Rohit Purohit, last seen in Star Plus’ Arjun, will play the son of Mita.
Piyush Sahdev, who is presently seen in a dashing persona of a fashion designer in Zee TV’s Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, will play the honest and upright cop who will tackle this particular family known for their underworld activities. Noted actress Neeta Shetty will play the fiery journalist who will keep a tab on the underworld activities.
When contacted, Piyush Sahdev, who earlier played a cop in Life OK’s Shapath, said, “Well, I left Shapath because I did not have creative satisfaction there. When I joined Shapath, it was more of a crime based show. However, the cops were asked to look as cartoons, doing crazy things. And as an actor, I did not like the silly stuff that I was doing in Shapath. And I took up this role of the cop in Encounter as this is more of a realistic presentation. The story is beautifully etched, and the situations and the characteristics of the cop are depicted in a very natural way.”
Meeta Vashisht, a powerful performer in movies who has also been part of television shows Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Suvreen Guggal said, “Well, I cannot talk more on the role in Encounter, as I am not allowed to speak. All I can say is that this is a performance-oriented character, where I get a scope to perform. I play a very powerful character.”
We tried contacting Rohit Purohit and Neeta Shetty, but could not get through to them.
The shooting for this particular story is underway from today.
