Manoj Chandila would love to play the role of Radhe till Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein exists
Manoj Chandila is having a great time essaying the newly introduced character of Radhe in Zee TV and Rashmi Sharma Telefilms’ Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein. For the uninitiated, Manoj essays a dual role in the show, that of the cop Shibu and the village-bred Radhe.
Says Manoj, “I am glad that I am entertaining my fans with this role of Radhe. The guy is innocent, comical, expressive and full of emotions. Comedy has been my forte and I am happy that I have got a platform to showcase my forte.”
Ask him if this character of Radhe is his best work so far and he is quick to say, “The role of Motilal Hooda in Na Aana Is Des Laado wherein I played a cop was above all my roles. But now I feel Radhe has superseded the cop (smiles).”
Manoj has always loved enacting comic and negative roles. But recently he enjoyed shooting for an emotional scene with Maasa (Vibha Chibber). “The scene was the one wherein Maasa is looking at the old album and Radhe enters. She is crying and tells him that just because of a promise that she had to keep up to, she decided not to get in touch with her own son. This is when Radhe reacts, gets emotional and hugs his mother asking her not to leave him now. I got applauded for the scene and my unit members said that I was the one who held the scene. I was happy that I delivered good emotion for a change.”
On the difficulties he encounters essaying a dual role in the show, Manoj avers, “Well, there is nothing like that as I am enjoying this phase. Actually speaking, I feel Shibu has also started looking handsome now. If I was playing only the role of Radhe, I would have grown my own moustache. But because I need to play the character of Shibu too simultaneously, I use the fake moustache and this is a bit hurting. Every time I pull off the moustache, the skin gets irritable. But all said and done, I would love to play the role of Radhe till the show exists. In fact I pray that Radhe’s track continues in the show.”
Three cheers, Manoj!!!
