Scene 1
It’s Karthik. He is making their video. Mangal says come inside. Jiya’s mom asks Kusum would you have tea? She says aalo paratha, masala tea. Jiya asks the cook to make it. Kusum says you make it. I want to eat the paratha you make for me. Jiya laughs. Kusum says it’s not a joke. Jiya says you can’t eat the paratha I make. Her mom says she’s never cooked. Jiya says Mama doesn’t know how to cook either. Kusum says wow, looks like you’re proud of it. I am glad to hear. I asked you to make paratha only. The person you love likes it a lot. Any girl should know. What will you feed him? Jiya’s mom says the cook can cook for them. Jiya doesn’t have time to do all that. I don’t want her to do all that. She is so talented. She gets global shows and she earns. Why would she cook at home? Kusum says then why get married? Do your work and be happy. Jiya’s mom says then why does Karthik want to get married? Kusum says no matter how many servants we have the DIL should keep an eye on the kitchen. Who will handle all this? My sister? If you don’t want your daughter to do all that then why do you want to get her married in an old school house? you should rather find someone modern like her. I know how girls are these days. We like Jiya but we’re worried she might not be able to adjust in our house. Her dress, thoughts, and way of life are very different from us. Kusum says to stay within your limits. Her mom asks her to calm down. Jiya says you’re so proud of yourself for interfering in your son and DIL’s life. Kusum says mind your language. Jiya says you too. I will handle what Karthik eats and what not. He can decide what he wants. You’re jealous of me, if you don’t like me so much you can leave my house.

Lakshmi asks Karthik to delete the video. He says it’s not happening. Lakshmi tries to take the phone she falls on Karthik. Kusum says I am glad I came here and saw your real face. She throws the water on Jiya’s face and says I pay my debts. She leaves. Jiya says she’s so disgusting. Her mom says she was provoking you. You said too much. Don’t worry we will answer her back. They will pay back for this all their lives. Kusum calls Gayatri and says your to-be DIL is so ill-mannered. They will say no to this problem anyway. I am coming from their lace. Gayatri says why? Kusum says to teach them their place. Jiya and her mom come to Gayatri. Gayatri tells Kusum. Kusum says they will end this for sure. Gayatri welcomes them. Jiya’s mom says sorry we came without telling you but it is important

Mangal comes to the room. She asks what happened. Karthik says nothing. Mangal asks what were you gonna tell? he says my life. Karthik gets a call. He is shocked. He says maa I am coming. He says I’ve to go. He rushes home. Mangal and Lakshmi wonder what it is.

Scene 2
Shanti does all the chores herself. She’s tired. She asks Lipika to do the dishes. She says I won’t do the dishes, I did the cleaning. You should have kept Lakshmi nicely. She would have run away if you were so bothering. Now we have to do all the work. She should never get married. We can’t hire a servant. Shanti says shut up.

Akshar shows his report card to Lakshmi and Shanti. Gayatri comes home. She asks where is Kusum. She goes to her room. Mangal and Lakshmi wonder what’s happening. Gayatri says to Kusum it’s all your fault. You’re responsible for this. Why did you have to go to Jiya’s place? You should have asked me. You don’t know the trouble I am stuck in. Kusum says I went to help you. We want this right? Jiya and her mom called off the engagement themselves. She says Karthik is stuck more. Kusum says we will handle it when Karthik is upset. Gayatri says you stay away. Do you even know what you did? you thought they’d break the engagement in anger, they are very smart. They came home and cried in front of Karthik.
