The women-centric family of Ekta Kapoor’s new show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ for Zee TV gets two more prominent characters in the Dadi, and Beeji of the house.
The important character of Dadi will be played by Madhu Raja, famous theatre personality from Delhi. The lady also happens to be the mother of noted actress Tarana Raja. Madhu was earlier part of Balaji Telefilms’ Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, wherein she played the character of Krishnaji, the real mother of Ram Kapoor.
In Kumkum Bhagya, the lady will essay the role of Dadi to the two female protagonists.
Also, yet another talented theatre personality in Jasjeet Babbar, has been roped in to play the role of Beeji, who will be fondly called Amma by the two protagonists. Amma, will almost be a mother to the daughters of the house, and has been working with them ever since the girls were small. Jasjeet, who is related to known Bollywood personality Raj Babbar has earlier been part of Rajshri Productions’ Jhilmil Sitaaron Ka Aangan Hoga on Sahara One.
When contacted, Madhu Raja told us, “Yes, I will play an integral part in Balaji’s new show. However, I am not supposed to talk about the show now, as it is too early. All I can say is that it will be a challenging character.”
Our readers would know that us had earlier reported about Shabbir Ahluwalia roped in to play the male lead on the show. We had also exclusively reported about Supriya Shukla and talented theatre personality Faisal Rashid playing pivotal roles in the show.
