Kuch Toh Log Kahenge 23rd January 2013 Written Episode

On Nidhi’s insistence, Baba tells her that for today, he wants to cook a special meal for her and Ashu and that Ashu shouldn’t know about it since it’s a surprise for him. When Nidhi goes, Baba sings a ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’.

Later, Baba asks CS where Nidhi is. He doesn’t know and starts with his usual banter. Baba finally asks him to go since he is getting late.

At night, Nidhi is helping Baba with the cooking. Nidhi asks Baba to check the salt but he says his measure is never wrong and he knows how much salt Ashu likes.

On his way back, Ashu gets a call from a doctor that Baba’s tumour is at an advanced stage and needs strong radiations which might be very painful at his age. He advises to prepare Baba beforehand. Ashu wonders how he will see Baba in so much pain.

Baba says Ashu shouldn’t be told who made the food and wants to see if he remembers his cooking. Ashu enters the house half-heartedly and sits down for dinner only on Baba’s insistence. Nidhi and Baba immediately notice Ashu;s absent-mindedness. Baba tries to distract him by showing his favourite hare chane ke kachoriyan. Nidhi realises that the salt is excess in the food and thinks that if Ashu eats and makes a face then Baba will feel bad. She drops something on purpose to get Ashu’s attention but Ashu doesn’t understand her signs. Ashu eats and thinks that Nidhi must’ve really worked hard on the kachori so he praises them. This surprises Nidhi.

Just as Baba is about to eat, Nidhi manages to stop him saying he hasn’t taken his medicine. When Baba leaves, she manages to fix his kachori before he comes back so that when Baba eats, he likes it too. Ashu is surprised to learn that Baba has made the food.

Nidhi has invited some of Baba’s old friends to eat his food. Baba thanks her for bringing back old memories. AshNi are amused seeing all the elderly men enjoy themselves so much. Ashu thanks Nidhi for making his Baba so happy. Nidhi says this momentary pleasure is all they can give Baba anyway. Ashu embraces her comfortingly.

Later, everyone sits down for a ghazal night and Baba sings. His friends praise him saying his voice is still as lovely. Then they say something i couldn’t quite catch but something which kinda takes Baba aback and then some sher-shayri starts.

Nidhi takes Baba to his room. He tells her to sleep since it’s late. But Nidhi notices Baba still looking worried. Baba denies it and asks her to sleep. He lies down and Nidhi leaves. When Baba is sure he is alone, he gets up. Nidhi, who is still outside the door, hears this and peeps in to see Baba looking at a red book.

Precap: Nidhi is going through the red books. She finds some newspaper clippings in it. Baba walks towards his room and opens the door.
