Chanchal comes to sit on the bed while Nandini is sitting resting her head against the desk, she angrily turns to look at Chanchal who says she can see complaint in her eyes, Nandini replies she does not know if it is a complaint or question and who to ask about them, Nandini says her mother left her when she was three years old and she felt she would get the mother after going to her In Laws house, Chanchal asks if she got it, Nandini says if she can ask some questions, Chanchal mentions that Nandini is calling her mother and even seeking permission so explains Naren never asked permission for it, Nandini asks if HemRaj took dowry at the wedding of Jigar and Ronaq, Chanchal says that this is the ritual of their society which HemRaj has kept alive, Nandini explains that this is not a ritual but greed when Chanchal says that if this is the case then all of the parents have accepted it, Chanchal informs that if Baa had not brought the dowry then who knows where HemRaj, Dhawal and Virel would be not be here, when Nandini asks what is the point in helping when they first ruin it all, Chanchal says HemRaj has even given the dowry to the daughter of Hetal due to which she is now living peacefully at the house. Nandini tries to explain it is legally a crime, Chanchal questions what does she think that her father has done wrong with them all by taking dowry, Nandini says what about the family of Samta kaki as they all would be in a lot of trouble after bearing such expense, Chanchal says that her father has supported them in their life, Chanchal says her father did not force anyone but took whatever they gave, she says that Nandini was against the dowry because her mother committed suicide and Sujhan was ready to give anything in order to bring his daughter into this house but HemRaj refused as he cared for the happiness of Naren then she says it is the problem with the views of Nandini herself.

Naren comes into the room calling Nandini, he is shocked seeing her standing at the window and goes to turn her only to find out that she is crying, he asks what happened to her and if someone has said anything to her, Nandini replies that she was told a lie, he asks who told her a lie when she replies she only cares for the lies that he told her, he asks what was the lie, she says that Bapu jee is against dowry is a lie, Naren replies he did not want to lose her due to the love he has for her, he says this is why he has always shared everything with his mother even when he knows there are a lot of things wrong in the house but he has not been able to do anything due to the fear of his father but he is not able to let it go, Nandini might feel awkward as it might be the fear or respect but his father has struggled a lot to give them a good life and he has heard it all from his mother, Nandini says he gets the license to do wrong because of the struggle explaining his mother told him all these things, Nandini questions what if her uncle also takes the dowry from the In laws of Mitesh, Naren agrees with Nandini saying he was studying in America for his degree and when he returned the last time then found out that Ronaq and Jigar were being married in the same Mandap and he was glad but then found out that Bapu jee took dowry, Naren says that Bapu jee did not take even a single penny as dowry from the family of Nandini but this change is good in him which is due to her, Naren accepts he has wronged her by hiding the truth about his father so whatever Nandini decides would be accepted by him. Nandini says she is feeling very broken and it might be possible that Bapu jee is changing but he is the one who hurt her by lying, she does not know what to do now. HemRaj gets the call from Khemji, so he asks what happened to the farm of Ishwar, HemRaj replies he informed him that the farm is in his name and so Minister asks HemRaj to transfer it but HemRaj replies he has taken such a big risk so Minister says the farm should be on his name and they both are going to go to the office right now. HemRaj sees Nandini so explains she is educated and so he expects her to not listen to the conversation of other people, Nandini replies she was returning after doing the Tulsi pooja and he was talking of some land, she replies she did not listen so he says she can leave, HemRaj is worried. HemRaj tells Dhawal that next week the party is coming when Naren says that he and Nandini have to go to Upleta next week, HemRaj says the one for whom he used to go has come to their house, Naren informs that next week it is the birthday of Mitesh and he does not want Nandini to stay away from her brother so they will return in the night, HemRaj agrees telling Naren to not stay there as the party from Bombay is coming while the respect of the son in law is going to decrease if he visits more often, Nandini comes seeking permission to ask a question when HemRaj says why does she need permission, Nandini mentions he considers all of the daughter in law of this house as his daughters, HemRaj says what sort of question is this as all of the daughters are the same for him, she then asks if he can differentiate between his son or son in law, she asks if the husband of Kirti would come here more often then he would start respecting him less, Chanchal asks Nandini to not make a fuss about it saying HemRaj has just said a quote and this has been happening, she says that she is sorry if Chanchal felt bad about anything but if he thinks her words are true, HemRaj agrees with Nandini explaining if the husband of Kirti comes here again and again due to a reason, Nandini replies just like that her uncle does not differentiate between Mitesh or Naren and his respect would not disagree, HemRaj accepts that she cares for the value of his son, Nandini replies Naren is her husband and his respect or disrespect is also her, HemRaj asks Naren to return from Upleta and even take a nice gift for Mitesh, Naren agrees when Nandini leaves however HemRaj is furious.
