Karan Johar says India’s Got Talent is an emotional investment for him
Karan Johar will be teaming up with three ladies (Farah Khan, Malaika Arora Khan and Kirron Kher) to judge the fourth season of India’s Got Talent on Colors. The producer-director is very happy with his decision of taking up this reality series and says being part of the project is like an emotional investment for him.
“Manisha Sharma, the non-fiction programming head of Colors came up to me and convinced me to take up the show this season.
Incidentally, though I was offered the first season of IGT as well as the second, I could not take it up then due to time constraints. But I must say that I am fourth time lucky to get this show. I have learnt a lot more than what I have give to this show. There are so many talented people in our country and so many unusual human stories. Each state has its own talent. But what moves me is the human story. It’s fascinating to see them leave their work to follow the passion of their heart. Jhalak (where he is one of the judges) is fun for me but this is an emotional investment,” remarked Karan.
Though he loves IGT, he is not found of certain acts, as he told us, “They do some crazy things like jumping from the chandelier 50 feet above the ground and swallowing blades. You feel like killing and sending such people back home. Good that we have a buzzer.”
One act that you enjoyed the most? “There was this three year old drummer; he played the drum like a rockstar. I simply loved his performance.”
Lastly, talking about the upcoming Jhalak finale he said, “Madhuri (Dixit) will dance, Remo D’souza will put up an act and the cast of Student Of the Year will be present at the finale.”
