Kanishka Soni to play ‘Sumitra’ in Sony TV’s Hanuman

Actress and singer Kanishka Soni has bagged the best Diwali gift possible, after being roped in for a pivotal role in Sony TV’s Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman (Contiloe).

In the track pertaining to Ramayan that will come up, Kanishka will play the role of Queen Sumitra, mother to Lakshman and Shatrughn.

As per sources, “The story will initially revolve around King Dasharath and his queens. Kanishka will don a lot of jewelry for the role.”

Earlier, Kanishka has been part of the mythological shows Devon Ke Dev Mahadev and Mahabharat.

When contacted, Kanishka told us, “Yes, I am happy and blessed to have bagged the role of Sumitra in the Ramayan track in Hanuman, that too during the time of Diwali. I love my mythological looks and I am sure to be enjoying this one too.”
