Kairi… Rishta Khatta Meetha 2nd July 2012 Written Update

RECAP: Imarti tells Ambi that Anju is in love with another one and Imarti had been trying to protect Ambi from this truth by lying. Ambi decides to leave the house.

Part 1
Ambi carries her suitcase and walks down the hall remembering with tears in her eyes about her dreams that are sadly shattered now. She looks at the image of the goddess questioningly and then turns and walks towards the door slowly. Imarti emerges behind her and looks happy at her doing while the two sister-in-laws watch helplessly. Ambi pauses at the door and they seem hopeful that she might change her mind, but Ambi turns around and seeks her mother-in-laws blessings which Imarti gives in a hurry. Ambi turns back around and leaves the doorway. Suddenly the elder sister-in-law leaps towards the door calling “AMBI” but Imarti stops her quickly. She begs Imarti to stop Ambi but Imarti informs her that there is no way she would do this and its a good thing that the eclipse on the house is thus removed. Kusum tries to explain that Ambi is not the eclipse but the sunlight that brought happiness back into their house. She reunited Sonu with her father and she is the only hope to save Anuj from the cliff he is hanging on. If she leaves then there is no hope for Anuj.

Part 2
Seeing that explaining anything to Imarti is a waste, a determined Kusum struggles to get her hand free. She tells Imarti this time in no uncertain terms that she will not let Ambi leave. She frees herself from her mother-in-laws grips and rushes out the door while Imarti runs after her to stop her. An agile kusum successfully shuts the entrance to the house from the outside and runs behind Ambi. Imarti is shocked at the audacity of her elder daughter-in-law and swears to teach her a lesson like never before. Imarti calls for others in the house and realizes that her brother-in-law and family have all gone out today. She curses her fate and realizes that the only way out of the house is via Kalavati’s terrace. The woman does not hesitate to take that route and though spotted by Kalavati, she quickly makes and exit to appear before Kusum at the exact moment that she was about to catch Ambi. Imarti successfully brings Kusum back home and asks how Kusum dared to go against her. As a punishment she tells Sajini to burn the coals on which Kusum will now show her sprinting skills.

Part 3
Kusum appears only slightly daunted by Imarti’s intentions. She questions her Imarti as to why she is behaving this way. She reminds Imarti that she never spoke against her no matter how badly she treated her. She makes mention of the anger that Imarti may have towards Kusum. Kusum never reacted to Imarti’s atrocities because she took it as her fate. Even though her own son calls her by name and not as mother, and though her husband doesn’t speak to her, she never complained. But what is Sajini’s fault? Sajini is someone who has given no reason to Imarti to hate her. Sajini always follows all of Imarti’s orders to the T, yet she lacks her husband’s love. Kusum asks why Imarti never explained to her son about his responsibilities beyond the world of prayers. Kusum feels maybe Imarti doesn’t care about them because they are not her own. But then what about Anju who is her own blood. She asks Imarti how she could snatch away his love from him. And after doing such a thing, she also broke the one relationship that could have given him the same love and security again. She asks why she cannot bring Ambi back. Imarti, though appears deterred by the mention of Anuj’s suffering, tells Kusum that the reason she is against Ambi is because Ambi dared to stand against her wishes in her own house.

Part 4
Ambi tells Kusum how she feels about all of them. She explains that a mother tho loves her kids a lot, when they try to snatch away other kid’s toys she will try to buy them a new doll to keep them well behaved. Kusum and Sajini are such dolls. The reason Prakash had to go away was so that he would remain Imarti’s son and never become Kusum’s husband. In Sajini’s case, her fault is that she tries to lure Ved away from Imarti by trying to seduce him but fortunately Ved is blessed by God and therefore does not fall for her charms. Ambi is the only case where Imarti didn’t get her way. She curbed Mala thinking that she was a “sherni” and brough Ambi home thinking her to be a “lamb”. But Ambi had already started the “Imarti Ghar Chodo” revolution and under her leadership, Kusum too had started to revolt. Therefore now before teaching a lesson to Kusum’s legs she will teach her to control her tongue with which he was going to tell her truth to Ambi. Imarti grabs Kusum’s mouth and with the other she extends the burning coal towards her when a female hand with red nailpolish stops her in her tracks.

Kusum and Sajini watch with relief and Imarti with shock as Ambi stands between them.

PRECAP: Ambi stares at Imarti and declares that now this sweet and sour relationship of theirs will begin as she gives her mother-in-law tit-for-tat and neither will she leave the house not cry any tears.
