Jaya Binju happy to take up a ‘dance-based’ role in Colors’ Krishndasi
Actress Jaya Binju will from today be seen essaying the role of Tulsi in Colors’ Krishndasi (Optimystix Entertainment and Vasihnavi Media).
A classical dancer in real life, Jaya always loved to essay dance based roles, and she sees this as a big opportunity to showcase her dancing skills.
Says Jaya, “Yes, you can say that playing a dancer is one of the factors that drew me towards this role. I have always been attracted towards dance, as I was a classical dancer at one point of my life. It is really nice to see one chapter of my past getting opened up again.”
Ask her about her role, and her expectations as she fills herself in Chhavi Mittal’s place, and Jaya avers, “Chhavi is a very good friend, and I have known her for years. Though I don’t know the reason for her quitting the show, I really felt good when I was briefed about the character. And I always wanted to work with Optimystix. So guess all fell into place.”
Jaya feels that the character of Tulsi is very much simple, when compared to her mother Kumudini (Indira Krishnan) who goes all out seeking revenge. “Well, Tulsi is a very simple girl, and a protective mother who wants her daughter Aaradhya (Sana Sheikh) to live safely. Having said this, I am looking forward to the Krishndasi angle to Tulsi, wherein I will have to exhibit my dance skills.”
It is a pleasure working with Indira Krishnan, as for Jaya. “She is a great actress, and I have shot most of my scenes in the last three days with her. One tends to enhance acting skills while working with such senior actors,” she explains.
Last but not the least, this is a comeback show for Jaya after nearly two years. She was last seen in Zee TV’s Phir Subah Hogi. “Yes, I had been keeping away from TV as I wanted something special. I have refused many offers in the last two years. Basically, I did not want to return with yet another negative role. And I am excited to be part of a show like Krishndasi.”
Enjoy your stint, Jaya!!
